Model shop balsa wood maybeez a bit more absorbent for making fat wood? I've always had some block balsa in my fire kit, it easily makes good shavings & starts pretty easily. Like the man said, it doesn't have to look pretty, so long as it works 👍👏👏👏❗️

A really nice mix of trees in that wood, KS. Liked the idea for pitch soaked sticks, I don't think I have seen that done before.

thanks for watching, It is a nice wood, they are however starting to replace the coniferous trees gradually as they were all planted in the 50's.

      FAT WOOD !
It is a Pine Tree !
These pine trees makes sap or resin and it flows through the trees limbs ,
It is highly Flammable 🔥 and it smells like Turpentine .
