- The ping is the most effective way to switch the point of attack but it is also the pass that is least widely well known. Anybody can play a good long ball and side footed pass but it takes a different kind of player altogether to take the time, energy and effort to master the ping, zing and grass cutter.

I think the point is that if you have two people with comparable technique but one is considerably stronger, they could get considerably more distance on their passes.

Omg, I’ve been looking for this video for months! I’ve been trying to improve my long range passing, specifically the “grass cutter/grazer”. I’m 5’5 and 145-150 lbs, and I have struggled with learning the ping, so I’ve been looking for a tutorial. Thank you for this video! It cleared up a lot of the questions I had with regards to ball contact and form.

I’m fairly sure that only Americans use terms like “zing, grass cutter”, I’ve heard of pinging because it’s really just a long lifted pass. There no real different types of making a good pass.
30 Beachside I’ve only ever called them, crosses or a ping, sometimes you switch play but I’ve never heard anyone call then zing or grass cutter
Was just about to say this. A ping in Britain is just a generic term for any hardly struck ball. Never heard of zing, and a grass cutter is a slightly outdated term for a low shot. Pretty sure this guy is creating his own vocab here.
I think its also from where he is from regionally. I'm from the West Coast and I don't think I've ever heard those terms besides pings and crosses

a driven pass is ping..what that means is its like youre striking the ball (as in shooting it) with the instep and the ball does not have a very high arch but is more flat and pacy...that sums it up nicely i think

Hey kid, if I can help, I would say to dodge that type of shit. Passing is passing. You should do what's more comfortable for you to get the ball there. I've never heard any of this names (probably because Brazil) from any person that I know that plays or played professionally.
So, to your real question:
Ping is a mid-height high speed long ball.
I didn't get the Zing (wtf these names), but probably it's a with effect pass (like when you're trying to pass with curve)
A long pass is a long pass (SMGDH)
A grass cutter is a common pass.
I mean, that was one of the worst football videos I've seen in my life.

if im a big guy, does my standing leg has to be more to the side ? otherwise the angle would be different.
You should position your body accordingly. There's a lot of big guys playing professionally. Not always you'll be able to do all this movement to pass, but if you need a tip, your base foot should always be pointing to where you want to hit.
I guess i am a big guy too since im 6'5..
But besides that its the same for everyone just put your standing leg/foot next to the ball and point it to where you want to shoot it easy as that..

Try to hit with inside of your foot in 45 degrees angle and dig under the ball with hard impact! If you can't hit it very long start from 20m~30m short distance and go farther

There's a ton of supposed ping tutorials on YT here. This is one of the few that's fully legit, not least of all because it actually specifies the difference between a standard long ball, true ping, zing, and grass-cutter.
There's other tutorials where dudes are acting like they're hot stuff for hitting floating chips that aren't even the width of the penalty box, and calling it a ping. Good grief.
