I think you completely miss the most important point for people that just want it for work and multi media, which is the battery life...basically no one buys a mac for gaming right now and the battery life on macs is just completely insane...on windows gaming laptops it was empty in 2 hours without gaming and on work laptops after like 7 hours - also the performance decreases A LOT even in the highest performance mode, on macs it does not decrease at all
Most people are not moving around all day. So the battery life isn't a thing if you sit at a desk all day. I get the Mackbook has good battery life. But most people can charge at any time they need in 2023. If you travel sure it's fine but I doubt most people need a 20+ hour battery life.
exactly the point i was trying to make, battery life, which is almost the undefeatable advantage of the apple silicon laptops...... comon, its commonly below 2w power consumptions for light works, while my intel mac is using over 5-10 watts for the same task (just the cpu) and honestly, thats a hugh different for me expecially on the battery life for both machines.
I have mac for couple reasons: display, sound, build quality, usb-c ports, apple sillicon, camera - all of them are much better than any windows laptop currently on the market.
I'm not really a macOS fan (especially for desktop use - with a trackpad and one screen, it works ok, though someone should still go to jail for the window management and for how eg. external monitors look). But the battery life is just nuts. Would be amazing to get one with a better OS.

Just because a windows laptop’s processor has more cores than the M3 doesn’t mean CPU related tasks would be faster. They’re completely different architectures, the M3 is ARM which makes it much more efficient
Current Windows laptops have short battery life, noisy fans and bad thermals
But man it's Acer. They always squeeze the specs up for the money but sooner or later youll start to have problems. Maybe keyboard stops responding, maybe ports stop working, sound issues, overheating etc. I know it from my experience, my family and friends. And I always meet people who say "I'm so happy with this new Acer laptop" i bought, its such a beast" and later they say "I had to return it because X stopped working". Just stick with Dell, Lenovo, Asus etc and save yourself a headaches no matter how tempting Acers laptops will seem
I'd add driver issues. They don't update a driver, Windows updates something meanwhile, and you're screwed. All of sudden your laptop doesn't have WiFi visible in the menu. Something that does not happen in Apple.
Also I'd add that lenovo is not that good. It's a chinese spyware machine. I'd just stick with Dell if I had to pick up windows laptop. Asus has a problem of releasing too many variations but all of the software/drivers are not up to date.

@@hiro6406 Which line/model? Those cheapest consumer models are indeed trash. Thats why most people prefer buying refubrished buisness lines (Precision, Latitude) or higher consumer lines (XPS). They last much longer and are much more powerfull than those common consumer lines
The problem is that Macbooks since the M chips have essentially exactly one flaw: Price.
And have exactly one use case they can't really accommodate: Gaming.
In virtually every other category they are better or equal to every rival. It's insane just how much better they are right now than the competition.
Just from a pure hardware perspective, they are just better than everything else as a complete package.
Software people might have some grips, but they're not iPhones, most of the moans can be fixed with little cheap apps or some quick work.
I honestly wish it wasn't. I want to buy a laptop I can use to work on, that also handles gaming really well. But quite frankly the more I think about the importance of the work side of things, the harder it is for me to justify buying anything other than a Mac for myself. I can always just keep using GeForce Now or get a PS5/Xbox/SteamDeck. . .
But if I want to run 3 VMs and Docker all at once, I'm probably going to quickly regret not getting the Macbook.

No it's not an alternative. Does it sustain this performance on battery? No it does not.
I've been thinking of switching to mac...but a lot of my games like valorant isn't supported on mac....so yea....sticking to windows.
No PC's - I actually have a miniPC with Windows 11 but I only use it to run a few apps that are better than Mac equivalents.
My main desktop will always be Mac and my laptop will always be a MacBook.
The fact that you're recommending a PC instead of a Macbook completely misses why someone would buy a Macbook to begin with 🤦🏽♂. An Apple user will never in a million years switch (back) to the god awful Windows. Except for gaming sure.. but you wouldn't buy a PC instead of a Macbook, you'd just by a separate PC.

I just bought a windows PC for gaming after staying it away for nearly 17 years. I immediately jump into issues after installing my GPU and I have to do a windows clean install to get it work again. The only experience in Windows 😂. I will still stay with mac for daily productivity driver, you never have to worry this kind of chaos
Arthur I agree that PCs are significantly less in price than MacBooks are specially the MacBook pros but if you’re doing video editing and time is a significant factor for you, I would really encourage somebody to buy a MacBook because from the test I’ve done they are up to 2, 3, or even four times faster of course depending on what you’re doing. And time is money they say

I agree that if speed and price are your top factors then that is the way to go. However if battery life, sustained performance even on battery, and video editing performance are top for you then the Macbook Pros are the way to go@@woofiooxx

Cybersecuirty Arch here. - M3 MAX 16 with 128GB is the way to go. i was able to run docker and 4 VM with 8GB each and Python complie with Sec tools. with will half battery left with full days of work. nothing can convinse me to get a Windows laptop. and i am moving from windows to MacOS

One thing I have learned with Apple products is you have to pay through the nose but they also keep their value. You could still sell in a few years and get a decent price. Most Windows laptops will be almost worthless in a few years.
Hi! Could you imagen that anybody who use OSx and Mac can change back to Acer and Windows?! Your video is okay and informative, one thing is wrong: the headline: “….INSTEAD….”. Yes,..Apple is expensive,… and maybe you can find a better performance, but the quality, the design, the durability, the OS(!) and the feeling is an another questions. Lets talk about the viruses or driver updates all the time,..or the value stability. Lots of things…For example Apple will never use green keyboard backlight. Look at the matrices on the keyboard panel..😂 So these are things why Apple different from the others, and if you have Apple you won’t change back to Windows laptops. But finally you right, for this money you can buy “better” laptop anytime.
Yeah the thing with windows laptops is that when u unplug them the performance drops significantly. Also the battery is trashy. It’s really nice but MBP is still a better laptop

I have Lenovo 1TB SSD 13th Gen 32GB RAM nVIDA 4070 it works just as well at the MBP M3 I think the M3 is better.
Will this laptop last like my 7-year-old MBP has (or the one before it that i also used for 7 years)?
Mine is finally starting to slow a bit and i have an issue popping up with the monitor, but again, that's after 7 years of daily and heavy use of audio and video editing.
Last time i bought a Windows laptop trying to save money I ended up returning it within the week. The user experience with Mac is just so much better and friendly.
Our high-end work windows machines are lucky to keep performing after 2 or 3 years at most it seems.
But if there is a legit comparable option out there i would be happy to make the switch.

Had to stop watching the video right when I heard an Acer. It’s like telling a guy walking into Porsche that a Honda CRV is 1/3 the price of a Cayenne with similar performance lol. You’re paying for quality, speed, battery life and Apple’s ecosystem. An Acer is just like any other pc that uses third party parts with an Acer shell design. These videos are super pointless imo.

If you haven't bought a laptop yet, go for the M1 Pro 16/1000 or the m3 pro 18/1000.
I have researched the entire market intensively.
You buy a MacBook for sustained high end performance, that will last for 5-7 years minimum.
Therefor it is wiser to buy a machine, (any machine), with more ram to be future proof.
Systemapplications, and applications will take more ram as software is getting more demanding.

I look at this video on an old MBA, and loudspeakers are not too good. On videos comparing differint mac`s or PC´s, they play music to show which one is best (sound wise).
My question is this: Listening to the music comparison using an old MBA, will the (poor) loudspeakers of my MBA not show the real difference? Example, will the MBP 16” real sound picture be better than what I actually can hear on my Air? Or will the sound on my MBA be same as what MBP 16” deliver?
Different, CZcams could be compressing audio to match video quality as well

The new entry level macbook "pro" has only 8gb or ram and lower memory bandwidth than last gen macbooks. 8gigs of memory. In 2024. For 1600$+.
