I really hope some new items are added. The fake item box is definitely the one I hope the most for, but the ice flower and hammer items from tour would be super cool as well. Plus the mega mushroom would be hilarious on narrow courses or ones without walls like SNES rainbow road 😂
I personally hate the fake item box. Which is the perfect reason why it should be added. I want the fake item box because there are so many ways you can use it to screw other people over. It’s perfect.

These are the items I can see coming:
Mega Mushroom
Ice Flower
Tanooki Leaf
Dash Ring
We could also get a multi cannon so it alternatively fires Mushrooms, Bombs and Banana’s.
We could also get Heart
Maybe Hammer but to get honest Hammer is just a reskinned Banana.

The custom cups feels like when we got the superworlds in mario maker 2
They should totally allow you to choose what characters you play against in vs mode. I’ve always found it annoying getting beaten by baby rosalina and pink gold peach.
And this update could finally fulfil all of our dreams of playing with 12 light blue shy guys on the track at once.

I would love to see a character pass
I know it’s unlikely to happen, but I would love more tracks based on other Nintendo IPs; a Pokémon track, Metroid track or Xenoblade track. Even other Mario game themed tracks, imagine driving through luncheon kingdom, cascade kingdom, or rosalinas observatory. Perhaps those would be saved for the next Mario kart game though…
My general idea besides the new courses is to add every character, not counting variations, into the update.
I would LOVE to see them add custom cups
My most wanted update is to adjust the amount of laps, so we can basically do 3 laps of N64 Rainbow Road like the original instead of 3 sections.
And for sprint tracks like Mount Wario or Tour tracks that change the direction of the start to finish line, it can be like a portal that teleports you back to the start but counts as starting lap 4.

Like Nascar except there’s 200 laps 400 laps and 500 laps I feel like that’s just to much laps the official’s need to shorten the laps around the tracks
@@bubbagamble8177 If anything it would probably be 9 or 12 laps max for 8 Deluxe. Kirby Air Ride had custom laps up to 99 and that was ridiculously long
@@vesterandfriends that’s right but if the officials of Nascar did shorten the laps to 50 laps then that would be okay for the race next season
I'm getting this game tomorrow so I'm happy to see these changes
I would really like to see the mini mushroom where you avoid shells but you go a bit slower so you make a choice when to use it I think that would be cool
Next Mario kart should include track editor, you take the courses in the base game and change them to make them easier or harder with anything, added boost panels or ramps etc and can share them online or save them to a gallery
maybe even add special hazards and make tracks from scratch. i would like to see snes rainbow road with big ramps and mushrooms and a pinball
Honestly, I think new characters should be added eventually in a future update. I even made a prediction video of what characters could be added.

8:12 i would say it could be just to fill in the shape but i don't think that is that good of a reason because in battle mode it has just over 1 whole line empty so i'm expecting the game to get more items

it would make perfect sense as there is still a lot of course in tour that we know won't make it into the BCP like the N64 tracks, the 3DS tracks, the DS tracks
As a time trialer the ghost limit is annoying. They're not giving us enough ghosts to get one per track, let alone two for both 150cc and 200cc. Having multiple per track is nice too, so you can have the world record ghost, someone right ahead of you, and you friends' ghosts. Being able to save multiple of your own ghosts would be great to so you can try different loadouts.
My picks for new items would fake item box and the Peach hearts from Double Dash

Now that you can customize items, it would be hilarious to do a race where the only available item is the giant mushroom

Not many people talk about this, but Mario Kart 7 actually did have custom cups to an extent, because by adjusting your settings on your Profile, you could select any of the tracks in the game to place in your own cup, which others could race on should they StreetPass you. If they were to bring it back, what I think they should do is make it so that they can be posted/played online instead of being a local thing.
Looks like the only rule is that it cant effect time trials. So I think it would be cool if there was a online mode as ranked so you play with players of your same skill level.
Some updates I want to see:
Bring back the bouncy net for Maple Treeway in the 3rd lap
Add a timer for races in grand prix and versus mode
Create a knockout mode for battles
Add some retro battle tracks
Update the wave 1's graphics after wave 6 releases
4:46 currently trackmania has 250 official maps, and is getting 25 more in a couple days (it gets 25 new ones every couple months)
When you play with the same character every time in vs mode (Toad for me) the same COM racers always finish up front. We need to be able to choose in my opinion but that’s what I would change…😅

I think they should add a gold bike like the gold kart
They should add elimination mode to battle mode where if you get caught run out of balloons or don’t have enough coins at the end of the time limit your out like some of the older games
3 things I want to see get added to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe features-wise, in no particular order...
- Custom Cups. Pick which courses you want to put into a custom cup of your own. You can name the cup whatever you want, pick a logo and a trophy. That's it. You can have up to 12 Custom Cups in total and use it for Singpleplayer and Multiplayer in Offline Mode.
- The Fake Item Box and the Mega Mushroom. Two fan favourite items that we want to see return. The Fake Item Box will be a lot trickier to figure out especially with the near translucent real item boxes. The Mega Mushroom will fit well for many courses in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and squishing enemies or getting shocked by the Lightning power up whilst large is what made it great in the first place.
- All of the Character & Alts, Karts, Wheels and Gliders from Mario Kart Tour in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. How cool will it be to drive the Wild Wing from Mario Kart Wii or the Dozer Dasher. For karts, wheels and gliders with multiple colour options, simply clicking on the stick while in that menu will allow you to open up a menu and pick what look you want just like how you can pick different coloured Yoshi or Shy Guy. That same menu applies to Drivers with alts as well along with alternate variants of similar gliders and wheels. Mario Kart Tour being a mobile game will have the problem of what other mobile app games have and that is the worry of it being delisted from the App Stores when it reaches it end of life state. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is selling EXTREMELY well on Nintendo Switch, so adding all the content from Tour will make Mario Kart 8 Deluxe thrive with endless gameplay for years to come.

Idea: You can not only save item sets, but have the option to add special items. For example in a saved item set you could make it so only Mario and Luigi got fire flower as their custom item. You could do this with any character or item, including coins
A thing you didn't mention is a mirror toggle! Like in Live Home Circuit having a mirror mode toggle to allow us to play all cc's in mirror would be so amazing and since they've done it already it's really not that unlikely they add it!

Here's something that most likely won't happen; after all six waves of the Booster Course Pass release, what if Nintendo releases a course maker where you can build your own courses and share them online
This seems like something for the next installment in the series
I'd really like to see the Mega Mushroom come back, but I'm not sure Nintendo will do anything with the extra slots. It feels like it's a case of Mario Maker 2 and the blank spot in the "Extra Game Modes" section.

@Switch Stop: The reason why the Costume thing may not work in Mario kart 8 deluxe is because of this. It is how it work in Mario kart 8 deluxe when you played a grand prix in solo, for example if you used Normal Link you get Breath of the Wild Link as your rival, and if you chose breath of the wild link you get normal link as your rival. Because the change of costume count as a separated character. When you play as Mario in grand prix the main Rival is always Bowser but if they change it to alt outfit, then playing as normal outfit mario, the rivial would not be Bowser anymore it would be an alt of mario unless they keep the rivial Bowser for the normal outfit Mario, but also you could end-up with this problem when you chose an alternate outfit if they are more then 2 chose you could end-up in a 1 player grand prix with just marios"
I want to see & hear the return of mushroom city/bridge from double dash,but also because Nintendo did this adjustment to in Mario kart tour,the lose a ball sound in the gameplay of Waluigi pinball,since all the booster course pass tracks are the cleaner versions from Mario kart tour

I really want more Battle mode tracks. I feel like Mario Kart 8 could use at least 8 more battle tracks. To me battle mode is like the best mode in Mario Kart & since Deluxe has so many different modes in battle mode, I feel like MK8 Deluxe deserves 8 new tracks. Hell Nintendo could just make like a Wave 7 but be dedicated to just bringing back battle courses.

I really need elimination Balloon Battle on this game and N64 Block Fort (best course of all time by far to me), it's the one thing I think this game desperately needs along with allowing us to do 96 random races (yes, I probably will do that when I play with my cousin).
