This guy deserves an award for best ever MPC One tutorial. You are a God send, man. Thank you very much for this vid...im a total beginner on this device and all the rest of vids assume the viewer is a mind reader and knows it all already, often skipping important stuff. Not here thank goodness. Man , if you were British I'd recommend you for a knighthood. Thank you.

When you were in "Notes" mode the pads were lit up exactly like the notes on the screen, same colors and placement. To me it implies that you could use the pads to play the notes at that point. I'm not 100% but that's what it looks like to me. You have a great way with beginners and the MPC One certainly has a learning curve if you've never used anything like it before. Good job!

Great video, thank you. For the PAD sensitivity, it will still not make them great but you can change the sensitivity in "preferences / Hardware" 2 options, threshold und sensitivity. So you don´t have to push the full level button everytime.
And I agree discovering the mpc for the first time, that many menus don´t make sense as a user interface. You sure get used to it but it would make more sense for Akai to optimise their OS instead if sticking with it system after system.

He says that "when you are in this program, this button does not work" by which he means that, the Q-Link knob does not work in that mode. This is a mistake.
If you look closely, you can see that the top Q-Link knob, is controlling the volume of the first(left) square on the bottom row.
Each of the knobs, controls one of the 4 squares volumes, on a row.
If you press the Q-Link button, it shifts the Q-knobs to control the next row above, then the next row, and the next, then goes back to the bottom, and starts again.
Very handy. Hope this helps clear up any confusion, that might have caused.

I’ll try to be brief: I’ve got my drum machine patterns and synth bass made into one sequence in the “MIDI” section of the MPC One and I’m adding guitar using the “AUDIO” section, but my maddening conundrum is that whenever I “fast forward” the track, I can only hear the guitar parts I’ve recorded in the Audio section while the MIDI sequence of bass & drums cannot be heard. I’ll have to listen to the song all the way up to the section I’m recording and hope I get it right because if not, I’ll have to listen to it up until that part again and again until I get it right. It’s SOOO frustrating and tedious. Thank you!!

I think they have moved a lot of synth/plugin/sample content, off off the built in storage, and onto the SD card.
So you might have to look for it on your SD card, instead of on the built in storage "content".

    No manual, seriously Akai?? Wow.
Ok so, I was just curious what peoples thoughts are on using an mpc to make non electronic music, like this blues for instance. I’m a blues guitar player but due to medical issues gigging with bands isn’t really an option anymore but I still love music.
I can’t afford a desktop with all the software needed to make backing tracks so I’ve kinda been eyeballing these things. Not like I wouldn’t do ANY electronic music, I could see myself doin some funky boom bap with a gnarly synth bass😊. But mostly I would like to make just regular tracks to jam, maybe even do a one man band kinda thing if I could make good enough tracks (I’m kinda picky in that regard, it has to sound good).
    Any thoughts?
