    You mentioned the hole saw plug and getting it out here in this episode and in another at some point. If you drill into one side about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through the board (enough that the center guide bit has broken through) and then cut in from the other side at the same guide hole, it leaves the plug sticking out of the hole saw enough to grab the plug, usually with your fingers and pull it out. This technique also prevents blow out without needing to clamp the board so hard.
    Great video series. Really enjoying the build and you got me planning a project.

    Great work buddy!
    Just an idea for you:
    Looks to me like you are going to chain your left and right playfield together. I use to do it that way which was good and have zero objections.
    However, I did find an easier cleaner way to install them by giving the right and left playfield their own lanes on the teensy board. Consider installing the teensy behind the Matrix now and feeding all data lanes from back to front. One channel for speakers, one channel for the matrix, one channel for the right playfield and I chain the right flippers buttons if you like, one channel for the left playfield, and chain the left flipper buttons if you like.

      Great question! I actually have a fully equiped wood shop full of every tool you could ever want, including several dado sets. However, I am trying to use basic tools and equipment for my diy videos so it is more accessable to people. When I did my arcade, I did the opposite and some people commented that it must be nice to have all of that, guess I'm not making an arcade cabinet. So for the vpin I went basic.....no dado sets. @@wayofthewrench I was rewatching your video and noticed you added a switch to turn off all LED lights. I was curious, do you see any issues if I were to add inline rocker switches between the power supply and each of the different LED runs (side rails, matrix, backglass and under cabinet) would each be on their own switch? I could see a scenario where some users may find the matrix or side rail LED's distracting, but may want to keep the backglass and under cabinet lights on or some variation thereof. I'm not an electrician, so I am assuming as long as keep the same gauge wire from the power supply it would be safe, but thought I'd bounce it off the boss 😜

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  Před 8 měsíci

      Yeah my light switch was a quick and dirty way to turn the LEDs on/off but yeah you could totally do the same for any or all of the led strips. I would make sure you don't cheap out on the switch though, make sure it will handle the amps you have glowing through it. Cheers!
