    Final placement for the heater. Finishing up the fire proof silicone caulking, and extending the wires for the battery and the thermostat.
    Currently (nov.11,2020) the heater is not working great, tons of white smoke, keeps turning off and shutting down on its own, sometimes I get error codes but not every time. Error codes e-08 and e-10.

    Suite case type diesel heaters should never be installed in a habitation area, if the exhaust pipe clip fails or loosens through expansion due to constant heating and cooling CO gas will enter your habitation space , its really not worth the risk.

    Awesome, thank you. I'm getting voltage drops many suggest can be remedied by replacing power wire with 10/ga to within about 25cm of the heater. I don't know how to do so. Please let me know if you can advise. Thanks again!

    Hey Vince, firstly I'd like to say that you have a nice van! With the following I don't want to come across as being negative, I just want to give my input to help you and your channel be as good as it can be:
    I think the music is too loud while you're talking. Typically people put music during transitional shots (like the sped up part of you wiring) and not during talking. Some fading in and out will up your production value alot!
    and at 1:48 it shows your exhaust pointing underneath your chassis... this is dangerous as CO is just slightly lighter than air, so if there's no wind the carbon monoxide will "pool" up underneath your rig and put you in danger.
    Can you post a link to where you found your extended thermostat wiring too please? Thanks bud!

    you can get the 60 or 75 mm hot air tubing from most VW air cooled parts suppliers.

    Hey bro that exhaust needs to be longer so it sticks out the side ! You could die ! especially if your using your heater during a big snow ... I know of a couple who had their generator running under their rig and died from the fumes

    Hi buddy forgive me if I sound stupid but I have never done this
    I have fitted a heater under storage seat and now instead of running a few metres of wire to the battery to power the heater
    Could I splice into a combi boiler that’s wired to the battery already and get that feed and upgrade the fuse at the panel would this work to power the heater

      I am no pro. Be very careful with this wiring and battery set up. I heard if power cuts out it could start the little heater on fire.

    • @skeight976
      @skeight976  Před rokem

      Negative cable usually goes to the black. Positive is usually red. But not always. If you only had a battery and not a solar system it would just go to the battery. But I guess it gets tricky with solar power systems, if you know more than me please share and help.
