Runo Stromkirk | EDH Budget Deck Tech | Commander | Innistrad: Crimson Vow | Sea Monster Tribal

On BudgetEDH we build fun and optimized commander decks with budget in mind. In this week's episode, we build a budget Runo Stromkirk deck from the Magic the Gathering set Innistrad Crimson Vow. Runo is a legendary Vampire that cares about Sea Creatures (Kraken, Leviathan, Serpent, and Octopus). On his front side, he can return a creature card from your graveyard to the top of your library, and then he flips to Krothuss, Lord of the Deep when you reveal a creature card with mana value of 6 or more from the top. He has the ability to copy creatures when he attacks, and double up copies for Sea Creatures when he attacks as Krothuss. This deck has a heavy emphasis on the Sea Monster tribal, copying our big sea creatures and utilizing some powerful utility creatures to give them evasion.

Cool deck! Graveyard recursion decks are always super fun, and I love the lovecraftian horror theme aspect as well!

Pretty awesome deck!
However, I would say, be careful of too many legendary Sea Monsters. If they are copied, the copies will just die due to the legend rule.
Some of them are good to keep in due to their ETB effect, but others might end up being wasted.

I use Captain sisay (Tap: Search your library for a legendary card and put it into your hand) as my commander. Does anyone know of any good legendary cards for protection from flying with either my own flying creatures or with reach? My deck is mostly complete but it's weak to flying attacks
