Thank you Shannon. The qb & receiver "duo" is whats great, not just one or the other. It isn't a coincidence that the two highest receiving yards seasons in nfl history by Calvin and now by Kupp both involved Matt Stafford as quarterback. A great passer makes a great receiver even better and vice versa.

Basically all our LBs were injured and we didn't have our best corner in Joe Jaden. Plus the entire league had figured out the highschool level offense they put on the field

Stop following the National media the local media reported that they were really close friends Baker literally never said anything bad about Odell. Odell got jealous of how the National media was covering the Browns and they made it seem like OBJ was a problem (something that wasn’t reported locally). Odell got in his feelings and started actually sandbagging practices and was activity cutting routes and running wrong routes. Just because most people like Odell doesn’t mean that he’s right all the time.

I already knew Skip had this segment lined up so he could trash Odel cause he was wrong about Baker.
OBJ got scapegoated due to Bakers tunnel vision. At the beginning Baker was trying to force bad throws at excess to Odell. When OBJ got injured Baker looked better because he couldn't force feed Beckham all the time. The issue is Baker didn't know how to integrate OBJ into the offense and things quickly fell apart because of it.
The only difference is he's on a team and has a QB that knows how to utilize him properly.
Baker is wildly inaccurate and inconsistent when throwing beyond 10 yards, that is the extent of the issue with integrating OBJ into the offense
In future if the subject is OBJ, Baker or Brady, I'm shutting this down when Shannon is done. Skip is so bias and arguements are unreal.

My exact argument is the same as Shannon and other Browns fans want to plant their flag with Baker. The guy we saw in 2018 is not the same guy today. He used to step up in pressure. 2019 broke him. They seem to think he had nothing around him and just draft and sign some wrs this year and everything will be okay. As if the organization didn't go out of their way to solidify the offensive line (3 all pros), multiple tes, 2 all pro caliber running backs, pro bowl caliber wrs. There are qbs in the league doing more with less talent. Wish Baker well, but this isn't some draft a wr plug and play fix. It would help but he needs mechanics and footwork, and film study. Too many variables to overcome.

Look at OBJs stats in 2019 under Freddie Kitchens (Pass first offense) and look at his stats in 2020 and 2021 with Kevin Stefanski (under a run first offense). Pretty stark difference. It wasn’t Bakers problem or Kevin’s. It was the change in style in the offense that caused OBJ to be completely underutilized and made him want to leave Cleveland to go to a pass first offense like the Rams (West Coast) so he can actually succeed. That’s why he was dropping passes and running different routes.

I know it's for TV/content, but Skip makes it hard to watch when he keeps trying to argue a proven losing point. It's like him saying the Nazis won WWII even though reality has obviously happened otherwise. Otherwise, usually he at least has some key points even with a sometimes bad perspective. When he hates/loves someone, he just makes the most unreasonable/unwatchable takes.
