  • Tonight the Glen Scotia 10yo Peated Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 46% from the Campbeltown Region is opened and reviewed on #TBWD. As happens sometimes Colin gets lost in his thoughts and we run a little long tonight, but if you peel apart the layers, you’ll find that they guys really end up enjoying this Single Malt from Glen Scotia. With a very light natural color; the game is afoot as they go from Peat to Sweet in this episode. As always, let us know your thoughts. Cheers!

Thank you for letting me into your haven and allowing me experience the pour without nosing or tasting the dram. I have had the unpeated Glen Scotia 15 Year, which is a delightful Scotch. I recall the floral notes, similiar to a Lowland Scotch, but not as light. Ah, the art of distilling is ever fun to explore. Cheers!

Cheers, it is fun to explore Islay and Campbeltown from the perspective of peated and unpeated expressions...so much to learn! Cheers mate.

Hey, just talked about Glen Scotia! - Lovely stuff they make, always a nice substitute to Springbank or Kilkerran.

We have a few festival and single cask expression of Glen Scotia here that we are looking forward to trying. We just got a late 90's Springbank here....the nose is wonderful. Cheers!

Totally not jealous about that 90s springbank... that must have been very expensive. Cant get any sprinkbank other than the 10YO without paying outrageous prices here... I'm stocking up when I get to Campbeltown 😂

I love the honest reviews and the friendships its why I tune in. But man, I hope you guys get to the point that distilleries reach out to you.

Thanks! What a wild moment that would be...seeing a message or an email from a distillery. But, more important, the first part of your message nails it...honest reviews amongst friends. Cheers!🥃

I have a 2 pronged question. Is that a grouping of Benromach that starts your collection? A special distillery for you or just "had to start somewhere"? And if not what is No. 1?
No rum notes from me this week. But it's my birthday next Friday so I'll no doubt have something to wrote about then from my own collection.
    Have a good week.

Currently the Benromach 15 is bottle #1, but for how long: nobody knows. The families of bottles move around as we add and subtract expressions...Laphroaig used to hold that spot but had to move due to the number of bottles...(I have had the 15yo Benromach, and it is great, btw). Happy Early birthday!! 🥃🥃

Since you last mentioned the Bordeaux Cask, I have sourced a 2021 festival Single Cask Bordeaux finish...really looking forward to trying that one....Come on Randy!!! Censors need to relax, perhaps a glass of whisky would help that. Cheers mate!
