- On tonight’s episode of #TBWD the guys get into a lesser known distillery, Knockando, and review the 1991 12yo release bottled at 43%. This Speyside region Single Malt Scotch Whisky proves to be a classic Speyside, but with elements of the unknown due to the limited number of Single Malt releases from the distillery. Both Colin and Malcolm enjoy the pour and agree that it ends with Julie Andrews. Cheers!
Thank you again for delving into the lesser used path. Speaking of paths, your general feelings, and your reaction to this whisky, I am reminded of a quote by Stephen Grellet - “I shall pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.“ It seems that the good this bottle has given you will not be tasted again. Cheers!
Cheers! Life is to be lived and shared.
I believe Its still World Whisky Day, so cheers to sippers everywhere & their casks😉 joined in with the fun & fruity Glencadam 10yr.
We celebrated WWD last night with good friends. Cheers!
I had a nice flight today, started with a 14YO Linkwood aged in 2nd fill sherry casks, secondly a "The Lakes: Whiskymakers Reserve No. 5" Which was a lovely raspberry blueberry sweet red berry extravaganza. Finally a 10YO Ballechin heavily peated. I bought 4 bottles of that one and I dread having none left... Good review, I never had any Knockando, always go for the AnCnoc!
Oh my, that Lakes release sounds fantastic, in fact that whole flight sounds tasty. Cheers (eyes now open for Reserve No. 5)!
@@TBWD I got 5 Lakes bottles lately, and they are doing some stellar stuff, I think you and Mal will love it!
A friend of mine and a scotch😢 drinker by the name of Forest poured a dram of Knockando back in 1996 and I liked it very much. It was available in NH liquor stores for a couple of years and I bought a couple bottles. Then it disappeared and I haven't seen it since.
Whisky is best when shared with and by friends, in those years (mid 90's) I was mostly drinking Chivas 12yo...what did I know....LOL. Cheers!
Hey guys. It's a cuban rum for me today.
But, more interesting, 1991 is my birth year and I collect 1991 vintage spirits for landmark birthdays.
Still to open one but im sure I will reep the rewards one day.
Yep, ceremonies and rituals matter...definitely open the bottles...when you're ready, just don't forget to do it. We're pretty sure deceased folks can't taste anything. #TBWD! Cheers
@@TBWD I'm yet to hear tasting notes from the beyond myself.
Have you guys thought about Merch like Glencairn's or the toppers you use that would be awesome?
Hmmmm....even more to consider, we appreciate you keeping us thinking and your feedback on our episodes. If there's ever a bottle we open and you'd like a sample...just let us know...happy to ship one out. Cheers!
@@TBWD Wow that's incredibly generous I won't act on that unless it's too good to pass on I promise.
Colin, I'm not seeing any open bottles. Do you guys work on a open offering unit its gone ❓Have you ever gased a open bottle after a years or two so as not to lose the flavors with an Argon gas product such as ArT ❓
In the background of the shot you'll see a 'blue' shelf...that holds around 100 open bottles, each time a bottle is added to that shelf a different bottle is moved to the 'help yourself shelf'. We finish bottles here within a year usually...so no experience with 'maintaining' bottles. Cheers!
