I’ve seen so many of these where they just absolutely ruin the piece they’re starting with; yours being respectful to the original object was a breath of fresh air!!
Efectivamente 💪🏻❤❤
I dunno, the gaudy crucifix piece was a tad much.
@@Werewolf_KorraWhat the hell??! You're an ignorant child. This piece has been restored to it's original glory, wthell are you even saying here... smdh
@@Werewolf_Korra It was on the original piece.
@@Werewolf_KorraHow is that gaudy? It makes the whole piece.

Who has this kinda time on their hands?
What an artisan. It's very comforting to know that craftsman of this caliber still exist.
Aren’t 9/10 of these restorations faked?
@@Leviticustowhat part of this video makes you think it's fake?
@zkam900 maybe the giant shiny cross on it before it was restored??
@@skylerheart1257That’s an extra part he just stuck on prolly
@@skylerheart1257 The cross has small gemstones in it, not metal. It can't rust, therefore it looks pretty new.
Nothing better than watching a skilled craftsman at work. Great job.
You sure about that there's a lot of rust on that brass if know any think about brass it doesn't rust
I thought it was an alcohol canister, that Men carry around. Awesome work. It’s absolutely gorgeous. 🏴🇨🇦
Wow! I didn’t even know what it was in the beginning. A lighter- so cool! Great job! 😮😊
🤤 I love watching things being restored! We live in such a disposable society, but if we worked on restoring things instead of tossing them, we'd have some real treasures! ☺️
If you look at it there's no pitting from the rust, it wasn't restored
Our society isn't disposable, the garbage sold to us is.
Absolutely- it's a totally different thing but I like to buy used lace wigs for super cheap, fix them up so they're like new, and then sell them at a fraction of the original cost. Or sometimes I'll give them away or sell them even cheaper to someone who is dealing with hair loss through chemo/alopecia who can't afford to buy them brand new.
I also really like restoring and also sometimes modifying vintage clothing that were not in the best shape so that they're wearable again. It's do nice to breathe new life back into something that would likely end up being thrown away otherwise.
@@Snatch698so are you saying that the person who made this video didn't really restore the original object to that brand new looking condition? did they replace the main component with an entirely different, non rusted piece? i really thought they brought something back to life that most people would have just trashed
@@dahliacheung6020I don't know where you live but there are locations all around the globe named "Repair Cafes". each location has a group of volunteers who specialize in repairing things & they meet regularly at a designated location. some groups meet at a church hall, empty warehouse, an empty store in a strip mall etc every Saturday, once a month (whatever works best for that particular location). the general public can take their broken items in & the volunteers try to fix your item for free. they fix clocks, lamps, coffee makers, laptops, vacuum cleaners.. whatever you've got they will try to fix. they might not be able to fix everything but any item that is saved from going into a landfill is a win!! also, there is an entire mall in Sweden that sells only recycled goods. so you know anything you buy from there is something that you have bought ethically. the mall also provided jobs to people in an area where the unemployment rate was high so it's a win for the local people as well.
i know my comment is long & I apologize but I just wanted to comment you for the part that you play in being environmentally friendly with your wig and clothing repair. I wish I had the skills to do that!! I'm sure you have changed people's lives by providing them with a wig. my 10 y.o. daughter has Down Syndrome & a few other health issues that require a lot of medical expenses. she also has alopecia universalis & doesn't have a wig. I'm a single mother so it's incredibly hard because I have 2 other children as well. I bought a wig 2 years ago but it wasn't good quality I guess and she hated wearing it. it was itchy on her scalp because the underside of the wig was pretty rough. it broke her poor scalp out & she couldn't wear it. she gets stared at when we go out. some people just have no sense of decency!! so while some people may not realize just how important a wig can be to someone, I really do. thank you for helping all the people you have!!!

Incredible restoration. Ty for saving this historic piece to its origional glory!
I am amazed by people who can do stuff like this. The handymen I’ve hired over the years have all known so many things - tools and materials and techniques - and all of them were inventive. Not just clever and skilled, but geniuses.
People who can do this just amaze me!! It’s such a time consuming process but yet they do it with such ease and passion. Turning something that was someone’s pride possession once back to its original state and idk it’s just so beautiful to me. It’s like the saying-someone’s trash is someone’s treasure

why are you talking about god? its almost as if you dont admire his skill, but just god for creating him. Rude.
I want that lighter
Very nicely done, great restoration. What a beautiful lighter. At first I thought it was a pocket watch.
Always amazing to see a metal that shouldn’t be rusted be covered in thick rust. Equally amazing with all the tool restorations I’ve done to see something so heavily rusted come out with no pitting. And by amazing, I mean amazingly fake. But obviously most people won’t know the difference and can be easily duped. Sad how much fake entertainment there is today.
Fantastic job
Thanks!👍😉💚
@TheRestorer Do you know what year the Lighter is from?
why is the brass rusted ?
It's not quite rust?
Because it's faked. Like just about all his videos.
They put them in chemicals and "rust" them in a short time. If it were real a) it wouldn't have been brass and 2) rust would have eaten into the metal- creating little dots that carve the metal out when removesld. It's fake as hell.
@@TheRestorer Oh we know it's the spray you use to coat a beautiful ornate piece with so it'll look like rust and then you "restore" it....
@@deathbunny3048What proof do you have to support a claim like that? Genuinely curious. Restoration is such an expensive thing to 'fake', in terms of time and materials, so I'm inclined to think you're BSing.
Beautiful again. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful work. You're very talented and in some way, gentle in keeping the originality of the piece without adding anything to it.❤

Beautiful! I doubt there is many like that. What do you do the items you restore?

@@TheRestorer
Yeah, what do you do afterwards ? Do you sell them ?
@@shizukagozen777 He can't answer that because these aren't restored, he destroys them first and then reverse the damage he did to it through removing the chemicals he coats them in.
Then if he sells them as restored it actually qualifies as grifting/scamming.
That's why he won't answer that.
Very little pocketing I’d call this fake.
It's bronze and stainless steel, it doesn't pocket, it adds layers of tarnish over the top of it
"Instead of gradually giving up molecules to water molecules, it tarnishes to protect its surface from further corrosion. It doesn’t disintegrate but actually adds layer of material on its surface. The interior of bronze remains intact."
It is a GORGEOUS piece!! Your work is amazing! It would be quite interesting to know its provenance.
Oh, my! That’s so incredibly beautiful! That you for seeing that & doing all that work! ❤ I’m SO PROUD OF YOU, and the original, too! 🎉
Minimal damage after being rusted makes me skeptical that this is legit. You can cause rust to quickly form on something just to "restore" it again. Real rust breaks down metal as it oxidizes
So dissapointed, i really liked these videos, but when someone pointed out brass doesnt rust, it woukd seem that this faker uses sugar or something to make it look like crap but its allready in perfectly fine shape... cant trust anyone these days.
Doesn't help, that they stuck that cross bauble onto it, when in the before picture it's clearly brand new and there is no marking from where one was stuck before.
maybe its not brass?🤔
Good work with the cleaning...then you had to ruin it with that bauble.😢

Why would brass RUST?
Wow, I thought it’s an antique watch, wow, never expect this. Good job!!!
OMG I love it! Is there a slower version of this? I know a lot of people want the instant gratification/quick view but I personally like to see what every tool is, how it is used and take in the process. I'm an artist and I just really appreciate being able to see the process and possibly learn something as I do. Thank you for making something beautiful and sharing it with us!
