+1 on Chris being an awesome guest. I love listening to the podcast whilst working, and with him as guest it just appears like the podcast is way shorter than it actually is. It's so natural and fun to listen to that time flies by.
That whole ear-cleaning discussion was so funny, because I had a really similar experience.
My ear was hurting a lot (coincidentally, after I tried fixing it with a q-tip), so I went to the doc, they put some liquid in my ear and then sucked out the wax. When the big part fell out, it was like my ear canal had just sneezed and I could suddenly hear way better.
And to top it all off, I now actually have an "ear bidet" (a douche, really), with that same liquid, so I can loosen the wax and flush it out, if such a blockage appears again. No ear infections since I got that, either, which is great, because that's some of the most annoying pains out there. Not the most painful, but certainly some of the most annoying.

Connors rant about London hotels just had me in tears, there were moments i could not even breathe.
