Congratulations (🎊) Isaac you're heading to the Tournament of Champions (🏆)
I almost went Gilbert and Sullivan, but changed my answer to the right one at the last few seconds. Whew! 👍
A couple weeks ago they had "The Dreaded Opera Category". I got them all right! I usually fall flat on Italian opera but I do know Puccini well
A very easy Final Jeapordy.
The only opera I know from the country referred in the clue is my guess, and it was the right one!
Interesting. The only opera I could think of from the country referred in the clue was The Mikado.
Gosh, if _I_ got an opera clue right... then you know it's easy.
Isaac Hirsch was on the Chase in Jan 19 2023
Amazing! An easy opera question!
I thought maybe the Mikado, but I guess it's not high art haha
To quote "Topsy Turvy", the exquisite, if non-documentarial, film on the production of The Mikado*: "We are not doing Grand Opera, we are doing low burlesque on the banks of the Thames".
* But I do absolutely recommend watching "Topsy Turvy", as well as a production of The Mikado, in any order.
Also, even if you're not particularly into 19th century opera, the "Humming Chorus" from Madama Butterfly is very pretty as well. Far less deep and meaningful than the previous two, but it only takes a few minutes.
That’s considered “Operetta”
A source of innocent merriment,
of innocent merriment.
Another final that was just a fancy $1000 category clue.
Whenever a category like opera comes up on the show, you know that the question writers will go easy on these pop-culture experts and present them with grade school material.
Preventing spoilers
Thank you
I guessed it
I figured it was either Madame Butterfly or The Mikado.
@@joeldick6871 The Mikado is not an opera.
Iisi biisi 🙈
Duh!
I guessed Madame Butterfly before the answer was shown. During a high school quiz Bowl match there was a series of questions under the category of Opera. These questions were all about Madame Butterfly. I was able to answer them based on a short synopsis of the movie I'd recently read in TV Guide and some guessing. My team, my coach, the judge, and the crowd in rural Ohio seemed very surprised any of us could sweep that category.
Comment to prevent spoilers.
I got this Final Jeopardy! clue right.
If it's Verdi, Puccini, Rossini, or Wagner, then it's hardly obscure.
Congratulations isaac winning a 4 day total of $100,586 well done
Madam Butterfly 🦋
well that was easy. Maybe this is Jeopardy for 12 year olds.
Must be since you're whining about it
There haven’t been many successes in FJs recently, so they have been easier ever since the start of the regular game.
Madame butterfly that correct, Isaac is a 4 day of $100,586. Congratulation 🎉
