  • If you haven't used your Nespresso in a while, it might run but no water will come out. Here is my super easy method to fix it with only a ziplock bag.

Dude, you're brilliant! A wonderful example of what an intelligent, open-minded, person with a good sense of the mechanics of the many items that surround us in life can do in problemsolving mode. Although the problem is a small one, you demonstrate an overall intelligence here that is rare, and capable of bringing great advances to humanity.

YOU ROCK! It worked. Bought a Nespresso maker for $6.00 at a used goods store. That’s $6 CANADIAN, so not much. I knew the coffee maker was not going to work, but what the heck. Pump was pretty noisy and no water coming through. Your trick with the Ziplock bag was great. Scared that pump into working. Thank you!

This is my 2nd Keurig coffee maker of this model. czcams.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first worked fine for more than 2 years, and I could still get a decent cup of coffee out of it if I fiddled with it when I decided to replace it. The problem I had with my first unit was this: When attempting to brew a cup of coffee, the unit would either keep brewing until the coffee was undrinkable or it would not run long enough and the coffee produced was way too strong. I cleaned the unit as best I could but it did not help. So in the end it was just too much trouble to get a good cup of coffee out of it, so I decided to replace it with a new one, which has been working great since I unpacked it.

  • @alexanderslobodchikov3836

Oh man, thank you so much! I disassembled my coffee machine, cleaned all the stuff, assembled it back and had no effect. And only you zip-lock-bag-method helped me instantly! So smart and simple!

Amazing. I'm a teacher loaning a colleague's Nespresso machine. When it stopped working on my watch I got very worried. She had warned me to always run an empty cup after using it, but must have forgot the last time and didn't use the machine for a few weeks. When I went to use it again, I had a very sad cup of coffee. Your video was my first search result and I tried it. Easy, simple, effective. Voilà! Thank you so much for sharing!

Perfetto! OMG...I have an old Essenza C90 that I just descaled for the first time in well...too long! Finished descaling and was about to start the rinse process when the water flow just stopped! I figured it was an air bubble but did not have a clue as to how to fix it and thought "The Baby" was destined for the dumpster. After seeing your video, I went to work and you were right...20 seconds later I was smiling and feeling a bit like McGyver. Well, you get the McGyver credit and I'll get a nice cup of coffee! Thank you and Cheers!

This worked on our Le Cube that had been in storage for 10+ years. Amazed! Thank you so much for posting this video. For anyone with the Le Cube, the reservoir is an awkward size and shape - aside from the plastic bag, I added cling wrap over the opening and just pushed it shut. Great idea!! Adapted your solution and what I read here for my Maestria. The problem with the Maestria is that once the water tank is in place, there is no access to the top/opening of the tank.
I used a lager size plastic bag. I filled the tank 2/3 - 3/4 with water, and carefully placed the bag in the tank resting on the water, with the open end 'purse-stringed' and hanging out of the top of the tank as I placed the tank in the machine: the bag was deflated in the tank, resting on the water, with the open end hanging out of the tank in such a way that I could seal it around my mouth and blow into it. I turned the pump on while blowing into the bag - the bag expanded, expelled the air that was in the tank and compressed the water - the increased water pressure in the tank forced water through the system and opened the block. You may want to keep a paper towel around the base of the machine as some water will leak out of the tank onto you countertop.
    Thanks so much!

Absolute hero! Been on for hours messing around with all sorts of rubbish guides and this worked in a few seconds. I did this with a European style water thing and used an empty food freezer bag, stuffed the empty bag in the water tank then blew it up with my mouth. Perfect seal and meant I could ram down with my hand.

This works! Make sure to prime (push the air-filled bag) down in the middle after inserting in the water-well. And you may need to keep pushing it down gently until you see the water draining. Thank you for your clever fix and sharing it with us, Ethan!

Absolutely genius!!! I've tried EVERYTHING and was just about to take my machine apart and was searching for a video on taking the Vertuoline apart but ran across this video and what do you know this recommendation actually worked!!! Thanks so much!!! Now I can return the new machine that I just bought and keep this one!!

Thanks for the helpful video! I couldn't get water to pump through my Nespresso Pixie after having had it sit in the closet for over a year. I found your video and tried it out but it didn't work after the first couple of attempts. I tried again a couple of days later with a brand new ziploc bag this time and turned the machine to "brew" while simultaneously pushing a half-full ziploc bag into the water reservoir. Started working instantly! Thanks again!

Thanks so much for this tip. My mom tried it and it worked on hers.
We tried everything and what also helped was using a small air pump to pump air in through the little water hose. Finally it works again! :-)

You just saved me from buying another Nespresso machine. Mine had been in the cupboard for months. Followed your instructions and I can now make my cappuccino’s again. Thanks for such a helpful video.

Dude, you are the man! Completely worked. I’m so impressed. I’m a macguyver sort of guy, too but the efficacy and simplicity of this is brilliant!

Worked great on a machine I hadn't used in a year and wanted to sell... only to find the water wasn't coming through anymore! All fixed now, thanks!!

Thank you so much Ethan!! I bought my Nespresso on a Black Friday sale so I’m assuming it was in a warehouse for awhile as no water was coming out when I attempted to clean the machine for the first time. Your method worked perfectly and I cannot thank you enough!!

Awesome! just about to bin our machine after not using it for a long time. I tried the bag technique multiple times with no joy but had a look through the comments and found that tilting the machine forward so that the air came back through the water reservoir worked. Thanks very much!!

Genius! I just stupidly started my machine without the water tank attached (brain not functioning). Couldn’t get it to work and then saw your hack, absolutely brilliant and my machine is now working again! Thank you.

Thanks for the input! Another dirty but effective method I used was using a garden hose to make pressure on the water input. For sure I got a little wet but worked like a charm! Thanks for the tip ethan!

DUDE!!!! I scored this model at an estate sale for $15, and when I fired it up to test it, it did EXACTLY this. And on my second try with the bag, IT WORKED! Thank you!!

Hi Ethan and everyone, I saw just positive comments on how it worked for everybody but I really thought mine was broken because it was already not working right from the first day. And I hate the hassle of sending bought items back.. But I tried your method, and also blew on the opening in the small black part on the bottom where the water container connects. And it worked for me too!! So happy with that. Thanks a ton for putting this video up. We're all in it together!
