I've shot slingshots about all my life but really got serious about shooting and hunting with slingshots 10 years ago or so. Got real active in the forums and Facebook groups, even co-founded a forum, then got so sick of all the in-fighting, backstabbing and general bullshit that I quit it all. Then on a random search of CZcams, Catapult Carnage came up and I watched a few videos, well I can say that I am back, not in the groups or forums, but back to shooting and being as fired up as I ever was about slingshots. Gotta say thanks for a great channel and I'm really loving the fireside chats.
That's excellent mate. I have to agree with your views on the groups and forums etc I am still on them but fairly inactive. I much prefer the interaction with the slingshot community on this channel. I'm delighted to have inspired you to get back at it. Cheers 🍻
All forums about anything are toxic
Another banger of a video, Lads. I genuinely think this series is doing more for the community and the sport as a whole as anything I've ever come across in 5 years of shooting. Chris...Ken...cap well and truly doffed here 🤜
This is good stuff!!! Thanks for taking time to do this! Looking forward to where this goes!👊🙏
Thanks buddy
Came back from a mooch this morning and saw there was another episode added. Well done lads, I enjoyed that listen over a cuppa. It's great to have local shooters making good content and growing the catty community here. 👌 looking forward to the next one.
Thank you again guys another good vid 😊
I've been stuffing Amazon boxes with old bed sheets & sticking paper targets to them & that's my version of a catch box.
Really enjoying this series like lads good craik
Absolutely loving this new bit mate, I think its good for the sport having good discussions about how we can get better. Keep it up mate all the best 👍
Chris loved your comments, keep up the videos ,just love.em! Jack
Great video, living in Thailand, I can not have a gun. Pigeons are pooping all over my welders and machines. So I am learning how to shoot a catapult.
Another great video lads really enjoyable 👍🏻
Great video.. 👍 Good one about imagine a rabbits head target .. Target panic is a bitch.. Been training instead of practice lately.. making a Concise release after aiming.. and being able to refuse the shot during aiming.. if that makes any sense to you? Very hard to stop the unconscious mind control the release.. Really enjoyed the video.. 👌👌👌
Thanks Frank 😊
Great vedio again
lads take everything on board been doing this 2016 and I'm still learning Kenny was right about crows I have seen it for myself poor sheep was in labour and the horrible bastard was pecking at its eyeballs ruthless things say it again top vedio
Nature is cruel 🦅 glad you liked it mate
Class lads well done
Great show again, men! There are a lot of squeamish people when it comes to hunting on the catapult forums and pages. They have no clue. They also don't think it through. Animals, in addition to being a nuisance, only die three ways in nature: disease, predators, or starvation. Hunting is much more humane.
Hello, could you elaborate what you mean about the people on the forums being “squeamish” on hunting? Thanks 😊
I agree Dan. Anything a hunter does to harvest game, is almost always more forgiving than what nature would throw at the prey.
And when it comes to slingshots, it's my opinion it's the single most effective tool for harvesting small game. It all depends on the the slinger behind the fork.
Another good one Lads. Keep them coming👍
Be well.
For hunting with tbg only bigger ammo makes sense for me. I have rolls of it from when I got into slingshot many years back, and stored it well. I don't have the money to buy the new rubber now. I got back into slingshot shooting. I am shooting short draw 30" 6 inch active band. Over the chronograph with every different taper I can make no matter what the small stuff just isn't fast enough. Im getting 200 fps with 130 grain 12.7 mill steel plenty of power there.11. Some mill steel 89 grain 220fps. 9.5 mill 55 grain 225 to 230fps max, 8mm 25grain 230fps, 6mm 15 grain 235 fps. I target with everything but hunting I lean toward 11mm and 12.7mm for the power as tbg just isn't fast like this modern rubber at short draw with 30" draw. Does anyone know Is 230fps with 9.5mm enough for hunting?
@sturmslingshotsandshenanigans - Alaska and @J.A.S.Adventures - Canada, for cold weather hunting setups. Great channels. I look forward to the next episode of Sling'in it. 👍
Love this ! ❤
Thanks
Excellent episode lads
Thank you 😊
Definitely makes me want to shoot again an you know mate I've almost but given up an not shot a single shot in like 2 years. grate series mate love it 😊
Get back on it Donk
Great video Chris, loving the content, could sit and listen to you guys for hours... I don't personally target shoot, i shoot for either pest control or to put meat on the table..
I agree with the flinched shots, cost two squirrel yesterday by rushing.😂
It's an easy mistake to make buddy
Any advice on how you calculate your active length? i presume youre dividing by 5.5 but .6 yellow sniper is a lot stiffer than .5 for example so do you use that ratio for every band apart from black sniper as you use 150mm so i presume youre adding 20 on to stop it snapping?
Hope all well Ken ferg
Another Q , what max distance would you recommend shooting out to while hunting with 8mm and what is the most predominate distance you take most game? thanks
I have some question, is rts with 9 mm steel ball able to permanently damage the eye?
👌🔥🏅
Nice chat! I need to shoot some paper. Haven't done that in a while.
Really enjoy your videos guys. Need your advice if that's OK...
Just got into 9.5 lead for hunting. Bit of a Revelation, but my Snipersling 0.8 yellow bands seem a bit underpowered. Again, just started using them. Am I missing something here. Up to now been using Amber tube bands.
A good watch
Cracking watch
Watching you guys while tying band sets for a knockdown comp tomorrow. Fingers crossed some of your advice sinks in 😂 Already looking forward to the next episode.
Good luck pal. Breath deep, keep calm and focus on your target. Visualise the shot 👁 🎯
@@CatapultCarnage thanks man. Came away with 1st place 🥇👍🏻
@@CatapultCarnage He did just that and came away with the winners trophy
Well done
Another great episode lads. Full of great info!!! There will be English shooters praying you wont be doing the shoots this year Chris,Ha Ha. Be good to see you competing again mate. Keep the content coming too!!!
I'd love to get to Italy in June but not sure if I can afford it 😕 hopefully I'll be back this year
Back on paper today. consistently hitting high and to the right. Do I adjust my ancer point or lower my aim?

Lads I find the black .5 snipersling has terrible bandlife. Any thoughts or tips for achieving better bandlife especially on the black .5
Depends on a few things. Your environment- is it cold and humid? Are your bands stored in a sealed plastic bag in a dark place when your not shooting?
Also, you might be maxing the bands out. Try adding a quarter inch or so to your bands to see if they still have the power and speed you want.
I run the snipersling green bands, and they are fast af, but I find myself adding a bit of band length to prolong their short lifespan.
Another great episode. What was the inspiration to start up this podcast. Keep em coming!
Ps the last 2 mins of the video was a freeze frame with no sound
I know I filmed it accidentally in 8k and had a serious hard time trying to edit and upload it 😔 this is the best I could do. I won't make the same mistake again
Man, I find myself re listening to Slingin it talks regularly.
Btw, I live in the American Southwest Desert. I would love to potentially send you a few Palo Verde, and Mesquite forks to you, for you to make some beautiful Natty's with one day.
Must be nice to have a mate to shoot with. No other catty fan's here in yeovil that I know of
I'm lucky to have a couple of good friends who love their slingshots
Holy Moses. You are speaking English but I do not understand the words you are speaking.
