Ashley leaning around , giving Coco Chanel vibes 🙌🏼❤️. Good video!! I am for the roof- over!
I know right?! Loving it!! ❤🎉
And what cute bangs! Love them.
I’ve been meaning Ashley, to say how much I like your new hair style, very nice look for you.
Loved the kitties smacking each other, lol.
I really like Ashley’s new hairstyle. I also like the highlights in her hair, very attractive.
I see you now have 2 kittens to take home! lol! I love 💕 to watch kittens play like they were. They’ll make good pets! lol!
Thanks! I've learned to trust anything you do, I know you think things through Doug.
Please video the whole job of pressure washing the siding. I love pressure washing videos, they are SO satisfying. ❤
Look8ng good nice and clean job site❤
I vote for a new metal roof, makes sense to me. You have come so far with the reno so far, you'll save time and energy going with a new roof. love seeing you all, it makes this old lady's day.
Wise decisions. I’m glad you were careful so you didn’t fall off the roof. And I agree new roof now instead of later. Take care.
Ashley you look like a Hollywood movie star with your hat and sunglasses on. LOL!
Excellent insulation discussion !!!. You are pros.
Sister calico kitties?
Oh man!
So adorable!
My brother in law did a lot of renovation to the trailer they lived in. When he started working on the hallway bathroom he stripped out much of the under insulation to work on pipes. His plan was to reinsulate with greater r value. While he was in the process of stripping the insulation but ran out of daylight my sister kept telling him she could hear cats meowing. He laughed at her. Then when he removed the last bit of under insulation he found out a stray mama cat had crawled up in there to have her kittens where it was warmer than the ground here in NW WI.
Doug, I think Ashley and the cats just took over the show!
all the work you are putting into the place its probably best to do a roof over so you know its done right and wont leak
Ashley looking like a Hollywood Starlet.
Loving Ashleys hair cut! She is such a cutie. You guys amaze me love your channel.
Hi family,
Wow very exciting getting the installation in.
Y’all know best what path you need to take
on the roof, as the old saying is, follow your gut!
No regrets later!
Kitties so cute. Ashley still loving your hair!
Looks so nice.
Stay safe, happy and God Bless ❤
I was thinking Ashley looked like a movie star with that hat and sun glasses leaning against the scaffolding
I always enjoy watching your family's renovating adventures! God bless yous!
Happy you finally received your installation ❣️❣️
There’s a channel called Kyles Cabin I watch and he bought a piece of property with a trailer on it and he’s going to tear it down and I thought, Doug would make that beautiful again!
Been there. Sometimes, the fork in the road and a new direction is best. I just started working on a 1970s trailer/MH and I wish I had the money to strip it bare and fix it like you did. The midline is sinking and I don't know what to do. It is a rental, but still, people deserve a decent place to live. It's not a dump, it is just dated. Thanks guys for keeping me motivated. Every time I work on it, I think of you.
It's better to have the metal roof put on before you start the finishing process inside. We were lucky when we bought ours the roof had been taken care of with the coating put on throughout the years. So it lasted from 88 untill maybe 2022 when we added our porches and then covered the house and the porches with metal. You will save time and money in the long run. Love to you all!❤
I have a bush like that that randomly grew in my yard. The flowers are so pretty. I have bees also. The cats look related but it's funny how one is long-haired and one look short-haired.
I think you should do the roof once and do it right the first time. If you have the money to do so.
Great video as always!!
Wow Ashley!! Florida looks fantastic on you! I love that new hair! I'm hoping South Carolina gives me my health back the way Florida has made you look! ❤❤ thank you so much for the video!!
Ashley, your new hair style and those new shades... You could pass for a young Audrey Hepburn! Beautiful - as always! Power washing is soooo satisfying! ❤❤❤
Your bush looks like an Azaelia. Can’t wait to see the siding cleaned.
Have you talked to your neighbor that owns the cats? If they don’t get them spayed soon you’re both gonna have kittens.
If you asked your members I’m sure you’d get enough donations to have the spayings done.
We haven't brought it up. They are still just kittens. I don't know what their plans are for getting them spayed.
I think a new roof is better than a repaired one save a lot of time and money . I know you’ll make the right choice. The inside looks great. A lot of hard work went into that you guys are a perfect team . God Bless your beautiful family.
Ashley looks so cute with her hat and sunglasses! The kitties really love visiting you guys, they are so adorable
Looks nice down there, we are in a snow storm lol
New roof now instead of later.
My husband rebuilt our roof with metal panels and I've never been so happy.
The kitty found an adorable new kitty friend ❤❤😊
Yeah, roof over sounds like the plan! Happy Hair Cut, Ashley, lovin the bangs!
That's what we like about your videos; you are good at explaining all you do, and the logic behind your plans!
Ok, Doug, you lost me at “The screen door was screwed shut.” You know best about insulation!😊
But I want to know who is that beautiful young lady standing next to you? She really is cute with the sunglasses & the new hairstyle!❤😊
Ashley, I really like the bangs…they’re so cute!
I agree Doug just do the roof now. You are right by valuing your energy.
It sure took the crud off the siding. I figured the batteries would have lasted a little longer. If you decide to return it check out the plug in kind. You'll have to install a outlet and run an extension cord but you won't have to worry about batteries going dead too soon. Just a thought.
I'll try it out on the siding before making a decision. It worked good. But my 4ah batteries sure drained fast on high setting. But then again, all of my tools drain pretty fast when run continuously so I'm not super shocked by that.
Cheer up kids! Sometimes things do not work out. go back to the planning board and you will figure out the best thing you can do! Take care of yourselves!
I love Ashley’s “ let him do his talking” attitude back there.
I have no idea about what you're doing or why, I just enjoy watching the progress you make on each project. Beautifully colored cats, and flowers, too. That was cool seeing the power washer clean the side of the trailer. It'll be fun to watch you clean the whole thing and then paint it.
Totally agree with you about the roof, might as well do it now and then it's finished with, you'll definitely regret it in the future if you don't. 👍👍
Ashley I love your hair. I think it’s best to do metal roof. I was impressed with the pressure washer. Enjoy every step. Keep the video’s coming!
That great this may help in the heat coming up.
You guys are so much more organized on this build ❤ it.
Anytime you work on roofs it Rains lol😂.
That power washer is amazing! 👍
I think the roof over is the better choice- for both time and money. Ashley has a chic vibe today ! ❤
😍 Love the hair cut Ashley, those sunglasses look so good on you. 😎
That looks like azaleas
Give everything a spray down with a mold/algae spray and let it sit before using the pressure washer on it. I have a "concrete cleaning" solution I run through my pressure washer on its lowest setting and let it soak everything for 15-20 minutes. Then come back with full power and let it rip
Ashley looks very pretty today. The kIttens are so Cute and playful. I am glad you are going with a new roof, it looked awful. You will be glad you did in the long run.
Doug you are the renovation guru, what ever you decide to do I know a lot of thought has gone into your decision. Ashley you standing in the background looking like a Coco Channel model, hat and sunglasses are a perfect look❤
I best to start from top to bottom, roof first because it will protect all the projects from getting ruin by rains
A new roof is probably the best move. I have installed peel and stick rolled roofing on mobile homes with metal roofs. It works amazingly well. Also quiets the roof down significantly during rain and windstorms.
That's a good idea. Perfect application for it.
I learned that if you go around the trailer soaking it with a product called s&h chemical , which is bleach and soap, then go back around rinsing, you’ll be amazed how good it turns out. It’s called low pressure washing.
a wise man knows when to implement Plan B
Those are gorgeous cats
they add value LOL
Thanks for the video!
Ash love the bangs.....you look like Belle's sister now!
Great idea to reevaluate the roof repair seems like a good plan.
Ashley your hair looked so pretty today!
The cats were so cute, hopping and playing around keeping you guys company! So wholesome to watch 🩷
Pressure washer will come in handy for many things. I know you and Ashley will make wise decisions about the roof. I love seeing the kittens in the video.
I have an outbuilding that was built out of recycled materials. Crazy construction and not plumb at all. A roofer refused to reroof it when it developed a horrible leak. He told me to get some friends and simply put new metal roofing on top of the leaking metal roofing. That's what i did. A neighbor did the same thing on his self-built house when his metal roofing kept leaking. Just covered it over with new metal roofing.
Classy look Ashley. You guys do you, you do it better. Love your channel.
I had been under the impression that you planned to install a new metal roof over the existing. That really seems like the way to go, especially as you have demonstrated the skills to do it well. It is not nearly as complex a job as the one you did on your home.
Im not an expert but here is what would want. Finish power washing. Let it dry then put some kind of spray or roll on sealant. Nothing expensive. Then roof over. But your decision is what counts. ❤❤❤❤
Holy moly that power washer really worked quick on the siding.
The roof on our old mobile home is very similar material to yours, except it doesn't have a pitch. We saved up and did a metal roof-over before starting on the inside. You are so right that you want to make sure of your roof before more investment inside. "The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry." Stay flexible, pivot when needed, go with the flow. Y'all are doing a great job.
I owned a mobile home in Florida. It had a roof over that was guaranteed for the life of the home. That’s the best choice.
I know you put alot of thought and pray in what yall do. It will be a good decision....love your sunshades Ashley...hugs
Changing plans, is okay. It's like John Lennon said...Life, is what happens, while you're busy making other plans.
Thank you for the video. Your new roof will be great! I can't wait to watch it fall into place! Ashley you look beautiful as always...love the hat and sunnys!
Sensible decision regarding the roof 👍🏼and isn’t it lovely that your feline neighbours love to visit you 😊
Several months ago I had to get a new roof on my doublewide. I was very crabby thinking about the expense but I had no choice. I got three estimates and found a good highly rated company who saved me thousands. Now I don't fear rain storms anymore and enjoy listening to it fall on my new roof without regret.
Hey the insulation is in!
New roofing is a good idea 👍🏻
The more work you do, the better your mobile home looks. I'm amazed every video. 😺😺☀️
Ashley looks so cool in the background.......
Penny wise, dollar foolish as my Grampa used to say. Best to do a good roof now, than have interior damage later to repair. Sucks that it's an unexpected expense, granted, but in remodels, sometimes that happens. Awesome job!
One thing you could do when you are installing a new roof is space it sligly away from the old roof (basicly screw in stringers horizontally and across the roofframes and lay on plywood or osb and go over that with roofing felt or steel roofing , doing it this way creates an airgap betwee the two roofs wish helps a LOT keeping the sun beting down on it from heating up the interior , You can allso install nice eves to the sides and give the double wide more of a house feel , just make sore you dont go too wide as it still needs to be able to be transported , i remember one channel that had there home moved from one state to another and they had to take a saw to their roof because the trailer ended up too wide to be moved without a special licence , he made it wider to stop rainwater comming off the roof from running down the sides of the trailer
I had a roof over put on my mobile home and I love it. I used Perma Roof out of Lebanon, TN. They did a great job. They travel all over the country to do roofing jobs.
Hi Doug Ashley Belle & Maverick,I was so happy to see you purchased a pressure washer. You are an amazing couple & family.❤
I don’t know anything about roofs. Im thinking that it is, or soon will be, hot where you are. And that Florida heat is bad. Ashley, I love your new shades. And it looks like you have bangs now. I love it.
Yeah! You’ll have lots of uses for the PW! TYTY for sharing! ❤️❤️🙏❤️❤️
Your thoughts regarding the roof makes sense to me. I was super impressed with the results of the power washer on the siding! Even before painting, once power washed it’s going to look like new! Also you guys seem to be cat magnets!! They just love you guys!! Just like all the cats that came to you in Indiana(?)!! I think I see your own cat in your family’s future 🐈!
Having a game plan doesn't mean it's a set plan. Sometimes, the situation requires you to reevaluate and change your direction.
Money + time = value
I used Drew's method of OSB over the existing metal (screwed into the rafters) and laid EPDM over it. Then Henry Tropi-Cool to reflect solar radiation. Cheapest and easiest method in my opinion.
Ashley you look great ina hat…not everyone can pull that off.👏👏🥰
Just rent a pressure washer, than apply a rubber sealant. I did that for my mother 20 years ago and the new owners still have not had any issues. Key is to prime first, after pressure washing and apply a thick coating only during morning hours. Roof can not be hot. God Bless.
this is a great idea!
Thank you for sharing! Always enjoy seeing you!
you guys always make the best choices for the circumstance. It will turn out great in the end.
everybody ok over there?
Hope it's just a rest and you are enjoying an Easter break.
Take care
You deserve time off but are you ok. Been missing your videos for 6 and one-half days
It's hard to explain. We've all been sick and we have some other personal health issues going on too. Plus we have been busy with some odd things that have come up. It's been hard to get our heads together to be in the right frame of mind to do a video. And we've been trying to work out some finances to buy the roof materials. It's coming together.
Once we pull ourselves together we'll get back into the flow of things. Sorry though for keeping everyone waiting.
@@diyfferent This Canadian is sending every good vibe. You are missed you are loved and you have friends here who genuinely care about you mor than a vlog. See you when you return. Thanks for taking the time to respond when you folks have obviously got things to deal with.
@@diyfferentsending each one of you love and healing light energy ;) and also positivity for the manifestation of resilience and abundance of resources ❤❤❤❤❤🙋♀️🧚
We're doing much better now and just trying to get a video together tonight. We got back to work today so things should get back to normal :)
Speaking of insects and bugs, put a light dusting of diatomaceous earth in your wall and roof cavities before sealing them in. I would do this anywhere you can. Hope it's not too late. Was thinking about mentioning this yesterday.
I'm in northern Wisconsin. I had a metal roof put on my MH. I went with a 4 inch overhang. If I was doing it again I would give serious consideration to a 6 inch overhang. 🖖
Such sweet kittens.
Ashely is rocking the sunglasses!!!!! Love your videos
Glad to see this stage begin! Great to hear about both types of insulation you are using! Blessed Sunday 🔥🤟💪🇺🇸❤️👍. PS. spending money wisely, saves you, worry and complication later! Was worried about the roof! Florida sun and humidity is no joke!! I remember years ago when you had all the labor on the inside, and had to do roofing, and it rained it, you were able to save your work up north, the rainy season here is no joke either, God bless your effort, looking forward to watching both you and Ashley, show us what wonders you can do! From Gainesville Florida 🔥🤟
Definitely, just do roof and be done with it.. so much gone into new floor etc , dont want leaks .. im feeling the same 😊
Ashley, I like the new fringe. Looks really good on you.
You have a very good channel… Easy to watch……you have a pleasant demeanour….Keep up the good work😊
I had an older mobile home and it needed a new roof.and I had a rubber roof put on. And I was happy with it it cost me $2,500. Put up in 1 day
Doug maybe get a Go pro and head gear clamp ❤️🇨🇦
Those bushes are azaleas, they're usually the first to bloom in spring, they're beautiful.
Putting the roof on you definitely don't want leaks and messing up all that wonderful insulation you kids have come a long way with your mobile home and it's really looking great
