      the point is that you want an hydraulic E brake on a drift car. Was thinking the same thing. Gingium might come to the same conclusion in the near future. Sit back and hold tight!

    I bought a set of 15x7.5 ET35 Dekagrams in "Gloss Bronze" for my black on tan 1999 (NB1) Miata with 205/50R15 all around, really happy with the look. Despite being larger than the stock 15x6 wheels, the weight has actually decreased making the car feel much more agile. Very happy with my purchase.

    In my opinion, in drift, you shouldn't use anything that wears out, except tires. Lsd wears out overtime. Bushings should be solid too. Engine mounts should be solid, 'cause it REALLY helps with clutch kicks and shifts. Ofcourse its your daily... but these solidity mods help for track use too (even welded diffs) Cheers

    • @TheOnlyOneLeftButYou
      @TheOnlyOneLeftButYou Před 6 lety +5

      Gedas Alekveravičius The torsen differential doesn't use the standard clutch pack for a limited slip action, instead use a set or worm and dive gears to provide lock up which dont wear out

    • @moonman6038
      @moonman6038 Před 6 lety +5

      The torsen doesnt wear out it is purely mechanical

    • @brockbain8656
      @brockbain8656 Před 6 lety +1

      NEVER run solid mounts everywhere in a car, because then... all that torque is gonna go somewhere, and over time the work hardening through torsional stress of the mounts will cause them to crack.
      My recommendation is poly engine mounts. solid gearbox and then poly bushes and mounts in the diff.
      I say only run solid on the gbox because shifter wobble is the devil.

    If you’re looking for a good truck for drifting I recommend a 1998ish dodge Dakota, from personal experience super simple to lower and modify/ make power. Sold mine to Justin from RCA( the shop you took the lifted miata to for the coilover installation) and he took the thing to a whole new lever. I definitely recommend talking to him about it and all the different tricks to setting it up for drifting.

    Pro tip, Ging. DO NOT worry about looks with your suspension setup. ONLY worry about performance.
    With that in mind, go zero camber rear, maximum negative caster on the front, -2 or -3 degrees front camber, set the rear a little lower than the front, and a little softer than the front in terms of ride height and dampening respectively.
    Work from there.

I hit a hole in the road that would shatter most cast wheels but thanks to konigs flow form process it bent both the outer and inner lip rather than shattering. and even after the bend it held air just off balance.

    Okay. I just put those bushings into my 4.1 LSD. Find a 3 jaw puller and a plate and a butane torch and heat up the outside of the diff casing around the O.E. bushing. Then hook up the puller and slowly pull them out. I found this to be way easier than cutting it out which did not work for me. If you got your idea to cut it from Greg, it is because he is a lucky miata owner; except when it comes to transmissions.

  • @jessevoidswarranties8335

    Try air duster upside down on the bushing because the mass of the bushing so much smaller than the mass of differential the differential act as a heat sink allowing the bushing to shrink and it'll be easier to knock out

    You should stick the blue miata's second set of rims on the Rally Miata to see the effects of smaller gripper tires on performance.

  • @michaelovitch
    @michaelovitch Před 6 lety

    The yellow dot on the tire should be the closest to the valve stem ,it's the lightest spot on the tire,the valve stem being the heaviest on t"he rim.
    It reduces the amount of lead used to balance tires.
    Also,way skinnier tires would be more appropriate to drift with this car's output and weight i think.
    It's a lightweight car don't need that big tires.

    maybe instead of a drift pickup you should make a drift volvo 200? it would be very original too, it probably handles better for drifting and the redblock engine can easily make plenty of power on stock bottom end. it would also be very reliable cuz you know, it's a volvo. just imagine a boxy volvo wagon shredding the tires sideways on the track :D

    Idk if you will see this cause im kinda late to the party but please keep steel wheels on the rally car. The ones you have right now are quite large but make sure you stick with steel until you get legit rally wheels and tires. They are not pretty or light but they are really strong and they are cheap. Alloy wheels will break much easier and will not absorb impacts as well as the steel wheels. The team O'Neil rally school has a great video about what wheels to use and why.

    I run the same specs of wheels up front, if you hit a bump while steering, your wheel will probably hit the front bumper. (At least mine do.)
