Sandblasters are expensive and a lot of work though and I'd argue that he doesn't really have a need for it.

Billy RS The old one was a variable LSD, which is supposed to lock and unlock by itself. But it was shit and never locked so its basically an open diff. The Torsen diff has longer gearing and is actually an LSD

Hey gingium, I have owned my miata for an entire year. My entire ownership of the car, the clutch felt super short and the clutch wouldn’t initiate until really low into the throw. I bled my clutch at least 30-50 times trying to improve the situation. It was not until a week ago that my friends and I adjusted the actual pedal in the drivers footwell. I am certain there are videos on CZcams on how to adjust it, but now my clutch feels absolutely amazing. I believe it may be worth a shot for you!
Had the same issue with my clutch. I changed both cylinders and the line with no luck. Turns out as the clutch components we're breaking in, it was slowly losing just the tiniest bit of throw. The key was to get the pedal adjusted JUST right.i mean a 16th of a turn on adjustment was the difference between sweet spot or not. Also had to shave down the pedal stops to almost nothing. This was the flyin miata happy meal. After numerous hours upside down under the seat I nailed it. Be careful with the lock nut on the pedal, just a little bit of movment and it will throw it out of the sweet spot. 2yrs no problem since. Good luck man!

Have you gone through adjusting the master cylinder pushrod length? Typically adjustment IA required with any new clutch component. Flyin miata has instructions on the procedure
Good luck getting that part. I waited 3 weeks for parts from them that should have came in 3 days, all because they couldn't be bothered to ship the items.

Gingium >>> Hello! Here's the trick to engaging both wheels at once (like in a "spool" / fully-locked differential) with the Torsen: when there is slippage, slightly depress the brake pedal and then both wheels will be fully engaged. I hope that helps, enjoy! ;-)

Just to let you know my experience with the clutch line! I have a 1991 Miata and my clutch was doing the same. I also ordered a stainless clutch line to replace that coily boi. It was worn a hole in it from vibrating against the transmission. Since it was my only car at the time, I JB welded the little hole in the coiled line. It worked great until I replaced it with the stainless line! If it doesn't come in on time for the event, that could be an option for a quick fix!

The factory rubber clutch lines get hairline fractures in them that will let the system gain air without loosing fluid. Exedy makes a great full length braided stainless steel line that goes from master to slave, where as most others just replace the short rubber section.

I enjoy your videos so keep doing what you are doing! Now about your clutch issues. I had a similar problem with my NB miata, it was the Master cylinder, believe it or not. After changing two aftermarket parts I decided to go with an OEM part and the problem was gone. I couldn’t see the leak because it was leaking from where the pedal plunger meets the master cylinder, behind the firewall. I hope this helps you.
Check to see if your clutch spring is broken, my integra did the same thing, clutch lever was fully depressed but was still engaged in a sense

Try adjusting the clutch rod at the pedal. I also had to remove the rubber stoppers at the pedal to give me enough travel to fully disengage/engage the clutch on my miata

Yea, I just replaced my whole clutch hydraulic system last week. My master cylinder was leaking and the rubber line was rotted, those are the two places that you collect dark gunk from, as well as a worn slave cylinder like mine.
Almost 300k, dont forget us when you hit 1million 😁
My last Miata had a lot of problems too with the clutch hydraulics. I ordered a stainless line but never got a chance to install it before the car rusted itself to death. I just got a new Miata though and I’m about to install it

949 sells a clutch line that goes from the firewall to the slave. Or project G or Miata Roadster sells a line that goes straight from the master to the slave. Both are nice options.
Talking about axles you mean half axles of course...nice work and agree with the guy above who wrote for sandblasting.at this age car has already started to rust in very main spots of the chassis!

Looking at your Tires as you put the Blue Miata on the lift, it looks as if the one on the left rear might be backwards because they seem to be directional and that one should possibly go on the front right. But if you plan on shredding them anyhow... Party On! BTW, enjoying your Videos.

Did the axles and the driveshaft also come from an NB Miata? Looking to do the same swap in preparation for a turbo.
Did you use a driveshaft and axels out of an nb with the same diff so they would line up?
You should clay bar the the turbo miata and clean it up a bit better after the drift event

I don't know if someonne has mentioned this earlier but if that diff came out of a Mazdaspeed, Itll have a 4.10 finial drive and beefier axles.

Good job... although I found myself wishing you took some time to clean and fix the little rusty bits all over the back sub frame while you had that axle out.. you would of doubled the value of the car making it look clean.

my boi gingium, next time replacing the diff bushings try putting them in the freezer for a few hours, and when you go to put them in warm the holes they are going into, but not so much as that it melts the bushings, just my 2 cents
