Namaste all! Dhanyavad Mukesh Ji for organizing another insightful Chintan session- really a lot to think about!
I always wanted to know more about the Hindu astrology aspect, past planetary science, and this session nicely balanced both. I came across a lot of new Sanskrit vocabulary (for me)- I was aware of some things and some names were familiar but I was unaware of their meaning and origin, so this was a very nice introduction and for me the most valuable part to learn!
There was obviously a lot to be covered in such a short time, so I personally felt it was rushed in some parts, but it definitely provided direction for self-study. A big dhanyavad to Nilesh ji 🙏🏻
    --
Namaste, it was a great introduction to the exciting topic of astronomy. Yes, it was difficult to absorb everything but it covered all fundamentals for anyone who wishes to dive deep into astrology. 🙏
    --
    Namaste,
It was a totally engaging topic and brilliantly presented. Aaditya was totally hooked up and actually forgot to eat. 😀.(His spoon near his mouth waiting). I can now relate better to Nakshatra and our Hindu months and it makes me feel proud to know that our Rishis were super knowledgeable.
Since I was off and on listening, I would request to share recording if possible for the same. 🙏🏼

Thanks a lot to Nilesh Ji for an excellent session on touching the basics of astronomy and it's relations to the Hindu calendar with evidence. Very glad that we could attend yesterday's session.🙏🏻

The talk really helped understand some basic concepts of Indian astronomy. Always wanted to understand panchang as a kid. Have been following you for some time and find your work very fascinating. Have got both the books and started reading. Would love to meet/attend your session if you are in London. Please keep up the good work!

So Nakshatras is the coordinate system of sky invented by Indian rushis. Your book 'Historic Rama' mentions all these things but just reading that was not enough for me to understand these things. This video helps a lot and now I understand the concept clearly.
My grandfather was an astrologer and he made us grandchildren learn the Nakshatras list by heart as it was very important according to him to know them in order, now I understand what was the importance of those Nakshatras for him.

Remembering/memorizing things, a lot of things plays a significant role in the development of one's intellect, the creativity of an individual. The fact is lost on the majority of modern Indians.

Mind blowing stuff.. Astronomy, ancient Indian narrative, geography, geology, maths, etc etc related to Ram Krishna's time and before, is completely mind boggling. If all the proofs and theories we had until now were like the brightest lights on planet Earth, then the proofs which you have provided are like our Sun.

Fantastic presentation. I was having lots of doubts whenever I say Sankalp during performing my Pitru Tarpan every month. Several of my doubts clarified. I have heard some talks of Shri Nilesh Ji about Surya Siddhanth and AIT, but I really admire this enlightening presentation. My Thousand Pranams to Shri Nilesh Ji. Thanks..
Want to point out one more thing. Really surprised my Shri. Mukesh Ji's Son's doubt about no. of days in Solar month. Great and highly intelligent Child. My wishes for him.
Altogether, it's a great enlightening session about our Calendar System. Thanks..

thanks a million for such a detailed session. i had read Dr.P.V.Vartak s' वैदिक विज्ञान आणि कालनिर्णय . but that time i had no knowledge of Indian calendar . so i had started basics.....and now after going thru' this session....i have given myself some homework ....like नक्षत्र पाठांतर . सूर्य मास नाम पाठांतर. ऋतु corelation . zodiac corelation.... so that when i read Dr. Vartak s' book again ....i understand it better...
you are taking Dr. Vartak s' work to the next level...not only that but you also carry the same attitude of explaining basics in such a wonderful way.....kudos to your effort..
this attitude of yours reminded me of Dr. Vartak s' approach of explaining with same कळकळ in youtube videos of Patanjal YogaSutras (uploaded by his son after his demise)

Excellent..Nileshji. It is an eye opener for me regarding our planetary system based calendar. Need to hear about something on Sun's movement around another point which talks about Yugas. As a reference there is a book named Holy Science by Swami Sri Yukreshwar Giri of 1894. According to that we are in 321 Dwapar year (1700 is the start of Dwapar) and now we are in ascending phase of Yugas that means we are in a phase when intelligence will be at enhancing phase till 10500 years from now and then it will start its downward phase as the Sun is moving closer to it Brahma and the Sun's path is like the petals of lotus. As this is an 108 pages book need more elaborate explanation on this from you. Thanks a lot to you again.

So Earth's orbital place is not really round as much as it is a spiral. plus if we consider the rotation of the Milky Way - everything revolves with in the Milky way. As our solar system relvolves in the MW, thus the constallations. I tried to find videos on how these rotations affect the Vedic dating calls, but couldn't find any. I had a doubt about the dating of Ramayan.
You have dated Ramayan to 12,000 years ago because of Brahmarashi. But, since it goes in cycles, can Ramayan not be older than it, in multiples of 12,000 years?
Is it because of other analysis like oceanographic evidence and all (I think I watched a video of yours on Sangam Talks about other evidence, and couldn't grasp much cause of my lack of knowledge)
Can you please suggest a video of yours comparing your dating and the dating according to the Yug system?

Can someone please answer this ?
What is the (I believe there is) angular difference between 1. Plane of the Earth's rotation around the sun and 2. Plane of the Moon's rotation around the Earth ? Is it the same ~23 degrees that is the angle of the tilt of the Earth's axis ?

is there any evidence from Indian astronomy that there was knowledge of the various 'Milankovitch' cycles?
    1. the *26000-yr* precession of the equivinoxes
    2. the *41,000-yr* time period where the Earth's axial tilt vares from 22.1 degrees to 24.5 degrees
    3. Earth's orbit around the sun changes shape every *100,000* years. The orbit becomes either more round or more elliptical at these intervals

Right now there are different choices ranges between 20-24degree..
So thats what i am asking that which one do u found correct in your experience?

@@subhadeepkumar15 I know what Ayanamsha is. Unless you are looking at a specific application or a problem for which you need the Ayanamsha number, the question is meaningless.
Accurate and precise determination of Ayanamsha becomes critical in the content of a specific problem.
Otherwise, it is a wasteful discussion.

would love toh have a layman's session on our panchang. since even our parents are forgetting 😢. Western calender is useless our moon Callander syncs with our body and mind, the fast we do during 11 and 12th lunar day ekadashi and dwadashi. even like moon pulls and pushes back the water in the ocean something similar happens in our body but in todays age every institution is pushing you todards bhoutikwaad(materialism) instead of adhyatmik aur mansik Vikas.

@@NileshOak I am using drik panchang app regularly to figure out ekadashi date twice a month. I know the basics but it is learnt by navigating but not understanding. I want to understand the calender to the core so that we don't have to byheart it like we did in math tables 2x3=6 etc. In olden times and even today my parents use that thick booklet of ~365 pages size of our palm called Datta where you tear one page daily, it has photos and other details of the day on everypage.
there is not just astrological but also physical effects of the position of planets and stars on our body and our surroundings. aham bhramasami bole se sirf ek nahi ho jayege hum bhramand se balki uss ko samajne baad hoga. the thing about the time we are living in today is the world is teaching and religions are preaching about reproduction, materialism, etc. no one cares about mental evolvement only thing in focus is material evolution and the race towards upgradation of technology. everything around use is constantly changing but since the beginning of time we humans are the same even during ramayan people have same amount of body parts as we have today no change in physical structure. it seems chasing changing world and evolving technology is the sole purpose of our life no mental, moral or ethical evolution has taken place infact there is a devolution of morality with time.

Nathuram Godse ji is my favourite among all these names. But i feel bad because his ashes are yet to be immersed in Sindhu river. Today only i had seen a video of 3&a 1/2 hours of his justification given in court about why he killed Gandhiji. His dream of Akhand Bharat is yet to be fulfilled. Our history books were distorted completely & everything was a lie(only Mughals & Gandhi).
