@@mioicc2867 erm I think you oversimplified the argument greatly, the fact is that Utd had Scholes, Giggs, Keane, Cantona all of whom were as dominant as viera was arguably, nobody is saying they all have to be Utd players but it’s ridiculous for those players to be overlooked considering Utd won 13 premier league titles and arsenal won 4 (it could even be less than that), nobody’s saying wes brown should be in there, just that even in the hall of fames for other sports the teams you play in actually matter, it might be an individual award but those players change the game to the same extent as viera ever did and ultimately won a lot more titles that viera did

Gerrard played with crap players most of his career had the odd few that was decent but never enough to challenge for the prem properly, but he still stayed.

Thierry is one of the best footballers and most professional player ever. Guy was never involved in any off the pitch controversy ever , an absolute role model .
He robbed Ireland out of going to the World Cup. Ireland were playing France off the park and had an away goal and he handled the ball twice to control it. Caused a massive controversy.
Ashley Cole deserves a recognition; he was a world class LB. He was the only English player who could have made world XI cos he was the worlds best in his position (post Roberto Carlos era)

If he wasn’t quality, United wouldn’t have tried and succeeded in recruiting him. It’s like now, quality players are in demand a lot of the time by City, Chelsea and Liverpool. If they aren’t trying to sign em, it says something most of the time.

As Utd fan i really appreciate the respect Henry has for Cantona,Keane and Scholes.Thierry was the best player Utd ever faced in the Premier League and a top class guy too.

As an Arsenal fan in hated United football. It was ugly but the one piece of elegance: Paul Scholes. That's the United player I feared the most. Got mad respect for Scholes.

How Gianfranco Zola is not on this shortlist is beyond me. Not a Chelsea fan, but he was one of the most influential players that helped make the Premier League what it is today! Pure class on and off the pitch.

Andy Cole was unreal anyway but it's crazy that him and Beardsley at Newcastle is almost tagged onto his achievements when really it should be up there as a focal point. Taking just promoted Newcastle to 3rd and getting the golden boot with 40 goals is absolutely incredible
Peter Schmeichel has _got_ to be in there. The stuff he did at United as well as the fact that he was *unbeaten in Manchester Derbies.* shows he’s up there with the greatest keepers to ever grace the sport.
I grew up watching Ronaldinho so I became a Barca fan but my dad was enamoured with Henry so I always got a soft spot for Arsenal. So I was delighted to get him at Barca.

I may detest Liverpool fans from Merseyside but I respect the fact that they are proper, local fans (something which is becoming more and more rare nowadays). In England you can be rightly called a plastic fan if you come from the North and support Chelsea or come from London and support Liverpool so I certainly have no respect for the people who decide to pick teams which they have no connection to at all aside from the fact that they think this team will win things. That’s glory hunting and that shouldn’t be anyone who calls themselves a fan of football.
Love that Henry appreciates Cole. Always remember the stick Cole would get about needing too many chances to score but I loved him. Came to united just a goal scorer, left united a player.
Winners understand & appreciate winners. Henry knows how tough it is to win consistantly. His choices reflect that.

He was ridiculously good in the early 2000’s. Unfortunately he didn’t have the longevity of the others in midfield like the ones they chose. He was superb on the ball and a very elegant player

For me the most talented premier league striker in history I had pleasure to watch will always be Nicolas Anelka. At 19-20 yr old he could ran by any defender and destroy any goalkeeper 1 on1. He was so fast had such amazing ball control and powerful shot too.

Imo David Beckham is one of the best to ever play in the Premier league. An all rounded player who doesn't get the credit he deserves, his celebrity life overshadowed just how good he actually was, If you watch back clips of him, especially whenever he was playing more centrally in number 10 role, he could do it all. We all remember him as a great winger and rightly so, with his great crosses and free kicks but he could finish like a striker, take players on and run with the ball, assist, pick out fantastic long pass from deep in midfield, tackle. I think you could have put him anywhere pitch and he would have died trying for the team
Bergkamp has to be next for me. This is coming from a spurs fan aswell. I wasn't even born when he was in his prime arsenal years but he's one of the best players to watch if your looking at retro footage. Doesn't have the greatest goal scoring record, wasn't much of a leader, rarely played champions league away games due to his flight phobia, but no one can argue with the fact he's one of the most technically superb players to ever kick a ball in England, easily top 5. Probably not the best player the prems ever had but definitely most elegant player it's had imo. His passing technique, dribbling skill and perfected first touch was mesmerising.

What I love about these lists is that even if you don't agree with some names being there above others, there is no doubt that they all deserve to make it to the list. As true football and Premier League fans, you just love to see some of those names and remember a few of their great moments on the pitch.

I'm a United fan here, you have to put Petr Cech there, you have to. Undoubtedly alongside Schmeichel, he is one of the greatest goalkeepers in Premier League history. Absolutely unstoppable and difficult to put past him in his prime which I have witnessed first hand. Amazing Goalkeeper
