I can't fault the production of the video. It was definitely like a Top Gear challenge. If I was buying such a van to keep and use, I'd clean it and give it a good service. It would make them a better place to be and in the case of the Combo, it would probably run much better.
I had a 1.7 combo and it was a good van cheap parts if needed cheap insurance and could go over 100 if needed and the back was more spacious with the side door than some other small vans on market and you can get them cheap as chips
I like the combo and ldv , had 2 combos 1998 and 2000 old shape but for what I need van for rather have ldv pilot , not bothered with speed long as runs and has mot,
didn't that LDV thing start life as a Leyland Sherpa which in a previous life was once an Austin J1 van?.Drove a flat deck Sherpa in London in the 70's.apart from the sliding windows, door's ex Austin, it used to go OK. It was brand new when the boss got it and we absolutely thrashed it but it wouldn't die.Left to come home to NZ in 1983,and though I'd left the job 4.5yrs before, that Sherpa was still going.
Yep we had a 1978 Leyland Sherpa van as well and it ran all over Britain for years no problem even after being crashed into a lamp post it was repaired and carried on. It was a cheap no frills van just like the LDV Pilot was and for this guy to say it kept breaking down means it was probably the usual British not bothering their arse servicing it or doing anything to it until it did break down. Funny I had a Morris Marina 1.8 HL and an Austin Allegro Equipe and they were very reliable cars - then again I serviced and looked after my own cars because you could not trust the gararges to do it right just like you still cannot today.
I don't think it was the Austin J1, the original Leyland Sherpa was at least partly developed from the Austin Morris J4 used by the Post Office over a long period, but everything else seems right...
they were far simpler in those days the vans now are cheap and nasty and have more things to go wrong. manufacturers dont want them to last like they used to they want you to buy new vans every few years.
LDV Pilot's could do an excellent impression of a tuba at 8.20. Ive really missed the sound of that exhaust. Minors sounded like that when you changed gear.
But the only reason that Combo is crap is because you picked a write off lol, a decent condition combo is a great van, the LDV on the other hand... jeeze they're junk XD
What a load of badly acted, scripted bollocks. It's funny that the part which 'fell' off the LDV conveniently waited until these clowns were filing it and the Combo appeared to have it's mirror covered in miles of duct tape for no apparent reason. Nothing wrong with either van and the LDV/FREIGHT ROVER/ Sherpa was a reliable workhorse, used by god knows how many big companies into the 2000s. Thumbs down for this massive nag of shit masquerading as entertainment.
BTEC Top Gear
New top gear is so bad I welcome any imposters.
@@level30boss27 REALLY fucking bad.
I didn't notice I was watching a repeat of TopGear lol
If they didnt over act it so much and get rid of the badly written script and you would be left with good content.......
Tom Wilde bhguu
Tom Wilde it’s not always bad to follow a script, at least the video has an structure
roadcleaner He never said it was bad to follow a script, he said get rid of a badly written script.
Tom Wilde i agree a bit cringing to watch
Tom Wilde if you decided to go to a hairdressers instead of doing it yourself, you might of been left with a better haircut

Agreed. I had both too in my time. Both served me well.
Jeremy Clarkson TopGear wannabes
As below, as much charisma as a packet of crisps. Could have an absolute belter of a internet series

Bazaraki avtokinita levkosia
My pilot is fine four years and still going and I had one before that
This is so cringe

Test 1: How many kids can fit in the back
4:03 "you got loads of room mate" lmao
He spent so much time in the back of one while at school? Wait what?
Liam Robertson He used to be a rent boy
Seth Bennion
"...used to..."
Past tense?
They certainly made it less than £500 each, with the rack damage on one and dent on the other.
I got a citron van ad in the middle. Lol
So fake, how did the van get in there if it couldn’t get out.
Good question - we're not even sure ourselves. Perhaps the ground was uneven.
You too are hilarious 😂
"Bring that piece of shit out here!"
I'd love to know what was wrong with the Combo engine that he had so little power
That guy could have just drove over the grass to avoid the barrier
Had a ldv convoy 400 swb paid £500 for it it lasted 5 years and all it cost me was a new exhaust
My dad has a vahxal combo and it's really good but hardly anough space
Bad copy of top gear
Haha a nice bit of banter there but I'm glad I've found a good channel specially for commercial vehicles👍👍
Welcome to housing estate top gear.
Very good. Nice light hearted. Who cares if people say ur copying top gear. Still entertaining
Top gear fail
The way this is filmed feels like a Netflix series! So good :)
that ldv is still o the road taxed and mot'd to 2019 lol
Still mot & tax till 2025
top gear
This was a bit cringe, I’m sorry
Guy at the beginning looking like hes gonna kill a human
Yeah 😂

Love my ldvs.
The combo low power issue. Probably just the MAF.
u 2 r so awkward in front of the camera
Nice video guys
This gave me eye cancer.
If you guys could act theres actually some funny bits in here
Tailgating isn't only done by van drivers...hgv drivers are equally as bad!
I have an idea why you're using that wrist support :~)
Very funny!
Bagsy the ldv 200!!!!!
How much
When you try to be The Grand Tour...
The LDV i say will be more useful than the Vauxhall.
04:11 that guy in small van,you better get him somthing good or he will say that again.
thats how to lose 250 dollars.
damn, just when I thought a good looking "newer" van (the ldv) it actually is crap. Too bad :(
Combo are utter dog shit. I used to own one. Do not get one! You've been warned!
how the FUCK 🤣 DID A FUCKING LDV PILOT BEAT A COMBO 🤣🤣🤣🤣
what engine did the vauxhall have? 1.7 diesel?
Yes 1.7di.
This is good but the fact that they are trying to become some sort of new top gear is soooo bad
top gear much ??
Cool vid! 😀

Yeah only worth £50 scrap
More talking guys... to much video with no sound just make me stop watching...
Could have been great but the presenting is so awkward and unnatural its painful to watch.
What is the point 5 mins in and I'm out
boooring :D
Want a good van contact me
Good effort but think you could do better tbh
hahahah this was good
But the only reason that Combo is crap is because you picked a write off lol, a decent condition combo is a great van, the LDV on the other hand... jeeze they're junk XD
Top gear rip off
this is a poor version of top gear
xD
