    I've been driving my Corolla HB XSE since the beginning of February. I purchase this car because: 1) I wanted a HB, 2) I wanted a car smaller than my Honda Accord, 3) I wanted a car that would be easy to park, 4) I was looking for decent fuel economy, and 5) I wanted Blind Spot Monitoring and not Lane Watch (which was what the Civic HB offered). After a couple of months with very limited driving, because of the Covid 19 virus, I would have to say that this car has for the most part met my expectations. I got used to the Heads-Up display on my Accord and this car does not offer it. It took me a while, but I figured out how to change my speedometer display from an analog look to a digital read-out and that has been a good enough compromise for me. I'm sure other people will think that was a terrible decision. Even though it's a HB, I would have preferred a dedicated back door release on the key fob and also inside of the car. Opening the rear door on first try has been quite hit and miss for my husband and me. The car is also lacking a small storage nook in the arm rest where you can stash coins, cough drops, etc. The center console storage is too far back for me to be comfortable to use. Plus, it doesn't have a top sliding shelf, where you can put small items. I also got used to that feature in my Accord. The bottom line, though, is that the car is lovely for what it is. I have zero regrets about buying it.

    They need to bring the wagon version over from Europe, this rear seat is way too small especially the door opening at the bottom for your feet and legs.

    • @Grk149
      @Grk149 Před 4 lety +1

      Ro0ster I’m surprised at the difference in engines available for the hatch among regions. Here in Europe we don’t get the 2L engine on the Corolla hatch. We only get 1.2 turbo for petrol engine and most sales will either be the 1.8 or 2L hybrids. No hybrid on the hatch in the US, that’s a shame.

    First Corolla I've ever wanted to buy! I can't believe all the features you get for the price. Unfortunately my Golf was totaled and I was considering another Golf but kinda didn't want to deal with more issues (had issues with sudden loss of power on occasion, electrical gremlins, etc). I love the Golf but am wanting something reliable, and what is more reliable than a Corolla? I've known people that had 500K miles on their old Corollas without any expensive repairs needed. Problem was that they are (or were) just... boring. Toyota is changing the game though! I love hatchbacks and am seriously considering this! You can't even get a base model Golf for the price of this and the Corolla has WAY more features!
    Plus the turbo in my old Golf, while fun, was a $2500 ticking time bomb just waiting to go off.

    I just drove a loaner 2020 Corolla SE CVT sedan and I have to say I wasn’t completely disappointed with the CVT but I don’t know that I would buy one. I’m an old drag racer so I’m very familiar with GM’s old 2 speed powerglide trans and it reminded me a lot of that ( except for the fake simulated part). My concern is how long will that CVT last.
