Thank you LEGO and LAN setting up this interview.

Oh my god Wes. He normally works on friends sets yet “sometimes gets loaned out“ to work on some of the best looking sets in recent years
Bro just made Elves one of the best themes xD
I know there have been people complaining about the dragon being changed from the submission version, but this interview gave a very important piece of information: Wizards had requirements, and demanded it look a certain way to properly look like a D&D dragon (which the submission did not).
I am still curious if the dragon from the original submission actually had a good grip on the tower, or if it would have had a tendency to fall off, as it didn't look all that stable to me.
I love hearing from the designers themselves. You really show respect towards them and it’s just awesome how passionate everyone is about LEGO
Great to hear the thoughts behind this beautiful set! Thanks to all of you guys!
Thank you for taking us into the process and letting us listen to the designers at Lego - bravo !👏
Just got my set day before yesterday, and oddly the Mimic Chest is due to arrive today. LEGO really should consider a DnD line… there is a rich lore that’s been built up with loads of monsters and settings. Love to see a Troll and a Mindslayer in LEGO form!
It is almost certain they're doing a CMF line for DnD, there even is leaked concept art for it. Mindflayers will be included
@@mondsgesandterohh nice!
very cool to hear from the creators themselves. a very beautiful set with a lot of cool details
Seeing the latest big medieval sets and the D&D tower, i like how this set is perfect to be the bridge between the castle and the town (with the stone bridge at one side and the tavern at the other).
Great interview. I always enjoy hearing how the designers incorporate the concept of story into their design process.
Dude as a fan of both Lego and D&D, i'm looking forward for more sets like this. Excellent work Tiago, kudos from Brazil.
Such a talented team! Great questions and overall feature of the set -I’m looking forward to playing the game in a group!
Fantastic interview!!! Thank you! Last weekend I met Lucas on the signing event in Amsterdam (Dressed up for work was super awesome!) He is really nice and the model is beautiful and very nice to build! Wess did a fantastic job with all the creatures!!! Best dragon ever made by Lego!!!
They just confirmed the rumored CMF D&D to be legit!! ❤❤❤
Great interview! I do love to hear the designers talk about their sets!
This was really awesome to watch!
I wish this was a propper theme.
Awesome to hear the BTS of this set
12:38 I wonder which company that is 🤔
13:17 but the book is exclusive to insiders rewards for a lot of points, it should have come with the set. I'm surprised Tiago didn't ask about that and the GWP not being widely available
16:29 I'm happy he asked about this, its too bad there couldn't be Lego dice
fantastic interview awesome set just got the DandD set 👍
WOAH THAT BOOK THO-
you must to interview the lotr team, great video tbh
JUST AS I COMMENTED EARLIER MY SET ARRIVED!
Great interview!
Love those interviews
What a great set! Wish I could get my hands on one!
sooo intersting, thanks!

I’m 1/4 way through book 3 of this build and it looks great ❤
Inn of last home would be epic!!!
Thanks tiago for your interview
Just orderd my set today....paying in the next 2 or 3 days....thanks to lego and of COURSE LUCAS!!!
Hope you put out the og dragon from lucas
Very cool. Cannot wait to get stuck into building this and getting a few hours of gaming 😅
At 2:38, the Lego designer said that this is the first time they've issued an IP brief to the platform on Lego Ideas, but if memory serves, didn't they do the same thing for Doctor Who back before identity politics decimated the fan base? Or was that different in the sense that they may not have explicitly asked fans to start creating Dr. Who submissions and just said they would now be accepting them? Either way it meant that everyone was expecting one of the Dr. Who submissions to win, which of course ended up happening.
IS mimic chest still available if you purchase the set? My gift after buying the set is completely different now, and I didn't receive any information is the mimic chest still a bonus for the buyers?
I heard it’s sold out…
damn it sold out fast... luckily ordered my set on frist day.
Did you manage to pose the dragon on the castle, like the box illustration?
Make a list for the best Lego set to build please
Well, I'm not sure my son-in-law got all the way through the video before ordering the set, manual and is beyond excited to start a group, as a long time player, he hopes this is just the beginning of the DnD collaboration ❤
The real question here is... Is Lucas single?
Yo you got to interview the man himself! A fellow dutchman! If you read this. You made an aweosme design!
Tiago do a "top 10 lego dragons" in your opionion, thank you
Great set! 👍
I just wish Lego had made more of the Mimic. It’s currently going for over $100 on bricklink which is crazy. 😡
your work is stellar, the price however .... PS XL15 is the real sheet
Fonix, grande Tiago.
This set is worth a 100 platinum pieces!
What does this mean??
@@radicallucas13it's currency in D&D that's more expensive than gold coins.
🎉
Unfortunately this video was longer than a minute and didn’t have subway surfers gameplay next to it so I couldn’t watch ):
😂😂😂 this gn is doom
Anyone combining this set with their medieval village ?
Plus explain why dragon colour change from green to red
Red dragons have a lot of significance in D&D, especially on classic D&D sets like the iconic red box basic set. I imagine that's the main reason.
The Rule of Cool is always in play at my table.
The original design is better than the official release. Just my own opinion.
I’m third ig..
4th
I’m first 🎉🎉🎉
I like Tiago, I'm afraid to hit play …why would someone who had never played D&D before be the one doing this interview! 😂
Oh! Hah…here's where I'm showing my age. Traditionally, a TTRPG is like reading a book or a story around a campfire, and the players & GM weave a story together with words and each person is imagining the game and may see things in the mind's theatre differently. Table maps, miniatures, scenery, 3d critters, etc…these are putting more conformity and restrictions on the game in many ways…making it more “adult” and more capitalistic, and more profit margins, etc.
There are so many TTRPGs and so few have any side collateral “toys” and “dolls” (by whatever name our culture will allow adults to play with toys & dolls without shame!). I go back to basic and advanced boxed D&D sets, Traveller, Paranoia, etc. and part of the fun & creativity is that our choices aren't limited to the map the GM has, or the models or landscapes we've purchased…it's an exercise in imagination. We used to just spend $20 and play new games for hours on end.
That said I still love that there will be Lego D&D toys. I think it's a perfect marriage. I don't have a problem with miniatures and collectables.
But please never sell RPGs as requiring physical merch to play. That's just corporate greed. If we needed to illustrate a complicated scene we'd toss anything we had on-hand onto the table. This vase is a tree, this stuffie is a dragon, this cardboard box is the Inn, this pepper shaker is the cleric. However, the majority of the time everything was in the mind's eye, not on the table. Even making a character sketch was like ooooooooh! 😂🎉😅
lol "designers"
You must be a great designer! Let's see some of your work lol
