One thing I forgot to mention, all of the research and study I've done on this is just an interest, hobby level. I am NOT an expert on Alchemy or Newton and if I missed something PLEASE let me know because I desperately want to know more!
The one theory I have been holding out on is Sam will die the first season, it’s the one death that manus archives never did, killing ‘main’ character
This was so interesting thank you ! Don't apologize for going so in depth it's very cool hehe
I heard the names at the beginning of the episode and immediately paused to pull up the trnscript and give this episode my full attention. It is so fun when shows like this touch on hyperfixations. It was fun to watch how excited you were about it too
This newest episodes, especially this one, have got me thinking that the members of the audience who listened to the previous series are being purposefully lead to believe they're working with the same fear-based system they were before, but the more answers we get, the more the rug is being pulled out from under us and we can't expect our previous knowledge to help us.
It's pretty exciting to think that everything we've been taking for granted due to previous knowledge might be completely wrong. Like, what if Celia really isn't from the previous universe, what if Lena isn't actually villainous, what if the voices in the computer are completely new characters? I'm just excited to see what direction the series is going to take
You would not believe how excited I am that you actually know the history of Robert, Robert and Isaac! Cuz I knew that alcamy was a practice that existed around that time and that Robert and Robert where probably real people - ah! Serendipity!
3:08 I love when I can hear from people who know about specific things...we cannot all be 'experts' or very knowledgeable about all areas so when people get to speak about those small areas that they know about, it's great!
I wonder if the alchemy could lead to us getting a new category system. I've talked before about how I wished we learned more category systems in Archvies aside from Smirke's 14, 'cause we were told that were others, albeit that Smirke's was the best one. Maybe this time around, we'll learn about a category system based on alchemy, which has a lot of possibilities:
The Three Primes, The Four Elements, The Seven Metals, and even the alchemical process which correlates to zodiacs. Maybe the system utilizies all of them, and each entity is connected to one in each category, kinda like how the filing system works in Protocol.
Honestly this opened my eye (wink wink ;))s to all the alchemical stuff! 100% don't think the Magnus of the title is the same magnus as in TMA, hence the different voice. I think looking into this and going back into each and every episode and seeing how they could be linked to alchemy is what has finally got me hooked into TMP, have liked the series so far but would say I was 100% invested. But NOW!!! Oh I cant wait, the mid season finales are actually a great idea making three cliff hangers per season (if episode 10 is anything to go off anyway!). Cant wait for next week. Could listen for hours to you talking about the alchemists and their links with theology such an interesting topic that I think I must get into! Rusty Quill giving me something new to hyperfixate on yipee!
Not my theory, but i saw someone point out the episode takes place a few years after the great fire of london (where most of london burned ro the ground in 1666). Given rhe institute later burned down, it makes me think it may be a literal scorched earth policy- burn out ANYTHING that is too dangerous. Given we saw something similar with the charity shop on hilltop road, and lena comments to gwen make me think that was likely starkwall, i suspect the oair and beyond that, the goverment, has two methods of dealing with the supernatural supernatural- try and control it by feeding the externals at a sustainable pace, or destroy everything it came in contact with.
Thank you for putting so much time and research into your videos!!! I’m glad you went into so much detail regarding alchemy, I definitely wouldn’t have made all of those connections on my own
Please make a full video explaining the alchemy 🙏I can’t figure any of it out and the alchemy explanation at the end helped so much
Trinity makes me think of id, ego, and superego. I can see Newton's point that reason and wisdom from experience must rule over the other two. A tripod is the more stable of structures. I dunno, this is what goes whinging through my mind as I listen to you. I wonder if the Webber in "Putting Down Roots" is in the garden that Newton's alchemy grew-probably just a reach, but interesting idea.
28:00 we're meant to be missing a lot! that's part of what makes this so great 😁
right! if you go back to season 1-2 of tma you realize how much we DID NOT KNOW for so long
love the insight! so much i would have missed, thank you a lot!
so thankful I subscribed u did such an amazing job with this video it clarified sooo much
Theory: Everything up to the burning of the MA was the same. The Fears, etc. Albertus woke up when the building burned down and is a threat that even Jonah didn't want in the world. He then used his power over fear to reclassify the fears in a way they couldn't refuse.
30 mins! YES YES!
The computer is what Colin refers to as him?
Or whatever is listening to them through devices, but most likely yes
I think your theory was so cool and I hope it is at least a little true
Bruh absolutely nerd out on this one, im still screaming about Colin mentioning Sulphur and mercury in the same breath--as if he's talking about SOPHIC Sulphur and mercury 👀 Colin's hot on the trail of someone recreating Amestris from fma:b I'm calling it. Especially since Sam mentioned essence transfer AND the case described Newton essentially making a screwed up eden fruit
Side note, for the metal tree, look up Tree of Diana!
Also also im calling it now, Bonzo is a humonculus
