I’m glad CZcamsrs, including yourself, have made videos about this great game! People will tolerate Pokémon because they grew up with it but won’t try something better because it’s Fakemon…
Cool video, dude! I've seen Cassette Beasts compared to Digimon, but I know nothing about the Digimon games. I think it's important to have a wider appreciation for the "monster collector" genre to differentiate them when possible, like Dragon Quest Monsters and Shin Megami Tensei. Anyway, glad to hear people are enjoying the game.
I agree. The other "big" monster games all bring unique things to the table. It's sad that so many people seem to treat pokemon as if it's the only one :(
@@crowhaveninc.2103 Yeah, I think it's important not to be ignorant and to recognize what other monster tamer games have done well. I also think it's important to mention that just because two games may be in the same genre that it doesn't necessarily mean that one game is a replacement for the other. I see a number of people voice their discontent with recent Pokemon games, and then I see other people say something like "Shin Megami Tensei is like Pokemon but way better, so it replaces Pokemon for me", but the thing is, a game like Shin Megami Tensei doesn't offer the same feeling or experience like what someone looks for in a Pokemon game. So it's important to manage expectations through the waves of these indie "Pokemon-likes". It would be kind of like if someone said "I don't like newer Call of Duty games, so I'm going to replace it with Doom".
It's also not a bad thing to be different from Pokemon, but people need to be aware of the differences. Although I do understand that for the sake of promotion, it's far easier just to get the word out there and say "it's like Pokemon" than writing out a longer explanation. Anyway, Pokemon isn't the only game in town, and in fact, Dragon Quest Monsters and Shin Megami Tensei came out before Pokemon, so if people can learn to manage their expectations and expand their horizons, as opposed to widely varying ideas of what Pokemon should be, then there are good times to be had from all these games, be they indie or developed by longtime developers.
BRO I HAVE ALREADY FINISHED THE GAME LIKE A MONTH A GO and its still soooooooooooooooooo good and the music will literally give you chills this game is A MASTERPIECE
also very good vid man keep up the good work
Cool video man! Hopefully we'll see more devs who actually care replacing AAA devs in their genres, like this with Pokemon and Battlebit with Battlefield
Brooo, you saw the same thing i saw with they type system, the creators of this game applied real life chemistry to the game and all the monster are based on real life mythology, i am so excited to one day see a desert location and have beast that look similar to Egyptian bosses.
This seems really interesting. I'm glad CZcams brought me around to see this!
9:29 the fear of your attacks being overpowered. False swipes can help, but that only works on types not immune to it.
If you want "better" pokemon monster sanctuary is right there
Level scaling is a fucking miracle. That sold me in it's own
Not sure if it still is, but it was on sale too
Best indie game people never heard of (until recently thanks to Super eyepatch wolf) is Fear and Hunger 1 & 2
Good video
I agree
Don't get me started on scarlet and violet move animations
😭
You should retitle it Temtem with a soul
Can't, never played it :(
Damn those greedy devs
this does seem intresting. assuming i dont forget about this video in a week on my next pay check ima getting it ( send help )
I'll be honest... The one thing that turns me away from this is after watching the video is the companions part. The one thing I despise the most about modern Pokémon games is how much they try to tie you up with the random annoying companions. So having them here with "more depth" honestly takes away my interest. I don't give a flying f*ck about them and their stories to be honest, I just want to be free to not give a real damn about someone else if it isn't for the purpose of whooping them 😂
In Pokemon they’re quite roadblocky but in Cassette Beasts, they progress the story forward and you can get through the text much quicker if you really wanted to skip through the stuff. Also you CAN whoop your teammates if you REALLY wanted to.
Honestly, yeah that's pretty valid. I never really cared about the companions TOO much and my experience would have been the same without them.
