UB40, legendary band
True dat.
Concordo contigo...banda lendária...
More like one hit wonder, this cover song and red red whine, who they hell knows any other song by these guys and good luck Asking anyone if they know the name of a band member.legendary ???????? Wtf could possibly make you consider ub40 as a legendary band? 15 minutes of fame is not even close to legendary.🤯
@@stuartkirkpatrick1173 trippin... "the way you do the things you do" was probably their best and not mentioned here
@@stuartkirkpatrick1173 You have no idea 😂 the British in the 80s & 90s grew up with UB40, Red Red Wine, Can’t Help Falling in Love, Many Rivers to Cross, Rat in Mi Kitchen, Kingston Town, Homely Girl, She Caught The Train and so many more.
UB40 had a lot of hits that were cover songs, but his voice was so recognizable you immediately knew it was them when you heard a new track on the radio.
Covers...so true.
They had 4 albums that were covers, all of the Labour of Love albums, but people also forget they had about 20 albums (or more) that they wrote themselves.
I've loved this band since I was 5. That was 36 years ago. . They are great.
Ub40 - Kingston town is a must react!! Great throwback 🔥🔥🤟🏽 dope reaction btw
Yes please India, this! 🙏🏻 Blessings.
Yes! Kingston Town
Yes!!!
That is one of my favorites by them! 💜💙
The song is Legend like ub40 will never grow old
90s reggae makes me feel so nostalgic. So many great songs.
UB40 80s band cover song maybe from 90s
@@salahad-din4114 this was from the 90s
100%
I grew up listening to UB40 in the 90's. We would always listen to UB40 when driving down to Wildwood in New Jersey for family vacation.. I'm from jersey btw. Oh the memories❤
Same, but I was in Long Beach Island. It's all I remember playing
I love what UB40 did with this remake of an Elvis hit! I like the Elvis’ version but I like one too! Red Red Wine was a remake of a Neil Diamond song! He was younger in Red Red wine which was in 1983 but this one was in 1993! ❤️❤️
This was my lest fav ub40 song took me decades to like it ub40 is my fav band
"Kingston Town" "The Way You Do The Things You Do" "Here I Am" "Higher Ground"
Red red wine i got you babe. Something stupid maybe towmorrow. impossible love. Where did i go wrong
No 1 in 10 guys?
Higher ground and this are my favorite! I've been listening them since I was 3, now about to be 35❤
My home town of Birmingham (UK) has produced many brilliant bands over the years. This is definitely one of them.
Shame the band have split up and fell out now but they were great for over a decade.
Love love love UB40 ❤️ Saw them in Wembley back in early 90s and met them backstage.
The look on India's voice as she falls in love with the song.
India's facial journeys are a great part of the reaction. You can always trace her feelings about any song as she gets into it.
she cant help it
It’s what I’m here for ❤️
She was falling for the singer, who wouldn't? lol.
Ben Abel You mean, as she falls in love with Ali Campbell, like all us girls did back in the day 😉
My favorite UB40 is an earlier track " I am One in Ten." more along their reggae protest song roots..
Yes ,their first two albums were the best.
thats when they had something to say
One of their best songs
"Kiss and say good bye". Ub40 jams on that one.
Don't Break My heart as well as many many others. Just start at the top of their greatest hits album, all fantastic.
Yeah this'll melt her ^^^^^THIS^^^^^ "Don't Break My Heart"
"Cherry oh baby" and "many rivers to cross"
Many rivers to cross best memories 💕
I love this song, another nice song of theirs is Cherry Oh Baby
A great song
This song was included in the soundtrack of the movie "Sliver" (1993) in which one of the characters has closed circuit cameras installed in the building to spy on neighbors, that is why many cameras and screens are shown in the video....obviously cameras and screens from the nineties.
I like this version but they played it so much on the radio (at least in Chile) that finally nobody wanted to hear it anymore....
Some Kind Of Wonderful.
Great soundtrack. the movie was just okay but was very hyped up before it premiered. Love India's reaction. She would love the band, Fine Young Cannibals!
I loved that movie! Got panned by critics, but I thought it ruled!
@@Braedensground
great band....and very underrated too
The movie was bad but I got to see Tom Berenger. Trade-off you know.
Love UB40 !! So many great songs. Maybe try:
Maybe Tomorrow
Kingston Town
Homely Girl or
I'll be Your Baby Tonight which is actually duet with Robert Palmer
I Love, love, love this version of UB40 (love UB40 too) what a times when this song was released😍
Another great track by this group is "Here I Am (Come And Take Me)
"
Yes, a fun classic.
@mangodebango MY FAVE UB40 TUNE! 🎶
I love early UB40 stuff the most like 'King', 'Earth dies screaming' etc
but I reckon you would like their version of 'MANY RIVERS TO CROSS' and 'I'LL BE YOUR BABY TONIGHT' with Robert Palmer 🔥
It's not often I prefer a cover version to the original, but this is one of those times! An amazing version of a beautiful song
I think Elvis would have liked this version
I think so as well. I can't help being partial to Elvis singing it. I was glad they stayed true to the lyrics.
@Cevyn Injekkt I feel ya! I grew up with all of it, just different memories attached to songs that maybe lean you more one way. Both are good in their own right.
I think he would have liked it better than The Pet Shop Boys Always on my mind.
I can still remember playing in my aunties yard when we heard mom and aunti B crying. My brother and i were relived it was just Elvis who died. I think I was 10.
Why? He didn't write it.
'Many Rivers to Cross', 'Kingston Town' and 'Rat in my Kitchen' are great tunes amongst many many more!! :))))))))))))
These guys are from my home town.. Birmingham UK .... Fantastic band but sadly today they've split into two bands sadly
Another Brummie here who grew up on them...awesome.
I seen Ali perform last year in Hawaii. After 40 years he still can jam. To bad the band split up. But he still has it.
They had a very long run tho. Amazing band
My wife was about to by me tickets the day they split was absolutely gutted
Proud 2 b a brumie 2
Another Big 90's Reggae Song from a White USA Reggae Band is BIG MOUNTAIN - BABY I LOVE YOUR WAY (1994) ... It's a cover of Peter Frampton's - Baby, I Love Your Way (1975) .. also Will To Power did a nice cover in 1988 .... + Walter Jackson 1977 Soul Version is very good too.
My absolute favourites, I've seen UB40 live 7 times now, (last 2 after the band split). I listen to some every day. I recommend 'I think it's going to rain today' 👌🏻🙏🏻 an older one, but an amazing happy wee tune.
Love from Scotland 🏴💛😁
Edit - I'm team Ali if anyone's curious
The best British band ever along with Queen...React to Kingston town, you’ll love it 😍
If you listen to the original red red wine (Neil Diamond) and this one, by Elvis, you can appreciate their way of remaking these songs.
Given the French original is over 200 years old nothing is really new ! czcams.com/video/EWw-Ohh04hU/video.html&ab_channel=MonsieurNonosse
They also did a cover of I Got You Babe.
his voice reaches right into my soul and gives it a little massage 😍😍😍
One of the big hits of the 90’s. This song was played everywhere on the radio. They gave this Elvis Presley gem their own spin...and it was magical!!!
Love UB40. So many good songs to choose from: Many Rivers To Cross, Please Dont Make Me Cry, One In Ten, Cherry Oh Baby ....
I never appreciated this song when it came out (I was only 7, to be fair, what did I know about music at 7?), but it's such a killer cover. Nothing flashy or anything, he doesn't try to outdo Elvis' version, just solid vocals on a great beat. Love it.
Love 💖😘 your reactions. So sweet and adorable. I'm always amazed that there are still UB40 "virgin's" walking around. Ub40 was/is/will always be my #1. (Ub40 = the name of an old unemployment form in UK). Try Cherry oh Baby, Please don't make me cry, Sing our own song!! 🎶🎵. Oehhh they are superb. Greetings from the Netherlands.
thank beautifull India Reacts for this ub40 song cant help falling in love very nice song :)
Love Love this version. And those trumpets at the end!
This was on the soundtrack on the sharon stone movie Sliver and this video was used as the trailer in movie theaters with additional snippets of the movie cut in (at least in the UK) so the first time i heard this was on a huge surround sound theatre system. It sounded amazing!
This is one of my favorite songs ever!!!!
One thing that I always loved about UB40. They could do a cover and just make it their own. They would sound fresh and just make a cover sound new.
If you appreciate Ali Campbell’s voice
then check out “Don’t Break My Heart “,
and “Please Don’t Make Me Cry”.
It’s an old Elvis Presley song, and though I always put respect on Elvis’s name, I absolutely love this version. The horns really bring it home.
Listen to the original French song czcams.com/video/EWw-Ohh04hU/video.html&ab_channel=MonsieurNonosse
This was #1 in 1993 .. Elvis Presley Cover (1961) The song appears on the soundtrack of the movie Sliver, People just love this Song.
Grew up on UB40..... I'm blessed to be able to see these guys live every time they come to town... Can't wait for 2020 to be over to see them again.... But for now.. BULA from the Fiji Islands!
Best band in the world seen them live many times at different venues ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT LIVE!!!!
Great band UB40 and I had a pleasure to see them in concert 2 year's ago in birmingham UK ❤️ I love 1and 10 that's a great song🙌👍
Been very happily for 50 years now and my wife and I have always loved dancing but she could never get the reggae/ska rhythm for some reason but I loved it - and still do. We had a good bunch of friends we used to go out with quite regularly and there was one lady who really got into it so she and I would always 'get it on' in a tame sort of way on the dance floor to anything by UB40 or Aswad or the Blue Beats. Wicked stuff.
As an ETA; I admit this is a nice rendition...
realdeal
Thank you India for reacting to this version of UB40 which is the one I like the most of all. I love your reactions and your channel. Greetings from Paraguay
This my jam! At work👍

I love this song and I'm so glad they did it instead of someone that couldn't do justice to it. Wonderful job, he is an amazing singer, great band
another great review, of another great song! and may i say, you look amazing my friend! big love to all people :)
I love your reactions 😁
This look on this video is my favorite. I always know you to be beautiful but the beginning still is mind blowing. Great look.
This is ska.
A long time ago, the UK had a labor shortage and started taking in immigrants to help cover the labor shortage. That's how you ended up with Jamaicans and working class Brits working together on the docks. Reggae and rock/punk blended together into ska.
If you like ska, the best American ska band is the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, which leaned more on the punk side than rock.
Ska is Jamaican it arrived here with the Jamaican workers. My cousins are Scottish x Jamaican, my father was working with the Jamacian's on the railways and building sites. I grew up hearing Jamaican Ska, rocksteady and reggae, first saw UB40 1980 when I was working at Keele University...they were gigging in Student Union. Rock steady, reggae and punk developed from Ska, Trojan records were the best producers of reggae. UB40 paid homage to their heroes doing cover versions on the Labour of Love Albums. Their own music was always edgy with a political stance just like their name.
Definitely not reggae and rock into ska! Before reggae/dancehall there was ska ska ska...horn heavy, drums and guitar. After that was rocksteady, more slowed down, romance and party heavy. Reggae emerged later out of that carrying the guitar rift mostly but an intense bass and more attitude. Dancehall, branched off reggae. Much like hip hop and R&B interms of pacing.
Yes yes yes yes yessssssssss!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤🧡
Lovely song👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼!!!I Impossible love,Kingston Town and Homely Girl.
Your a ray of sunshine
My jam! Love their version of this song
Many Rivers to Cross, Great cover by UB40!
Can't believe this is the first time you've heard UB40 by far one of the greatest Birmingham uk bands ever
Love them, from my hometown in Birmingham.. met a couple of them when I worked in a pub
👍👌. Many rivers to cross is an amazing song by ub40 Great reaction as always
The band's name comes from the Unemployment Benefit form but not all the band members were receiving state benefit even though unemployment was on the rise in the UK at that time. Brian Travers (the saxophonist) and Robin Campbell (Ali's brother) were serving apprenticeships. Ali and Earl Falconer (the bassist) and a few other band members knew each other from school so they were friends before they were a band. The music they would end up covering was what they grew up with in the late 60s/early 70s. At the beginning, they were told that they should write their own material. The (mostly) self-penned prior to 1983's "Labour of Love" are legendary and their is even a dub version of "Present Arms" (the first dub album to make the UK top 40 in the album charts). Robin Campbell once said that why write a new song if somebody else has already said beautifully what they wanted to say?
Love the music back than, nothing like it. New subscriber.
UB40 was the only music I would listen to when I drove to St Augustine in Florida. No idea why but it just seemed so fitting. Used to see Pili Pili a lot back then as well in Jax
I love UB40 any song they do, Kingston Town is the best.
I love watching your face when you like the music. It is a very genuine reaction.
Love this song
Always loved this version.
Cold chills
I remember this was on my Dad's VHS tape of recorded songs in the 90s from mtv. The video to this I remember had clips of Sliver in it.
Ya, this is one of a few Elvis signature songs, from Blue Hawaii, thinking 1961... I think this was one of last songs of an Elvis Concert at many of his concerts. very, very popular cover
i love your face expressions so much feel the mood of this song - you are full of joy and happiness, regards from austria(europe)
Impossible love. Here i am. Dont break my heart. Please dont make me cry are my faves.
I LOVE THIS COVER
This song was amazing when it came out. So unique. Now still incredible.
You will love “Rat in my kitchen” by them 😘😘
This was release in '93. It was on the soundtrack for Sliver. The movie was about a guy(William Baldwin) with tons of hidden cameras in an apartment complex.
Amo tus reacciones ninguna como tú e serio eres la número 1de las reacciones 👍👍👍😅🇲🇽
this is my fave song from UB40 the video is fun and it makes you want to dance
This was the song that got me hooked on UB40.
