There may be some who has run 400m faster than him, but no one has been more consistent over a 10 year period than Merritt . Especially when it comes to anchoring 4x400m relays.

God that story about his brother is truly horrific. He didn't deserve that, just over a petty fight!! You can get really bad luck in this world, depending on the situation if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time there is no bottom to how low your luck can be.
