Mr Thapar, I appreciate your prog and have been watching it for last 4-5 years . I strongly feel that your prog should reach wider audience and for that kindly add hindi transcription to the interview.
No matter how you try to downplay it, the truth is Arambais, Unlf and other extremist groups are running the imphal valley. Biren nurtured those people hoping they'd help him remain in power, but now those very extremist groups are no longer looking up to Biren for order. Instead they are becoming more powerful than the govt itself and are currently running the show.
How does it work in the kuki areas? At least some people speak up in the valley. And come the end of the conflict, the public will not support unlawful acts.
It is an exception in the valley whereas it is the norm in the kuki areas. The militants have always been running the show.

There are so many famous journalists who are stationed in new delhi or else in cosmopolitan cities and debating and talking about the manipur crises about manipur. .y question is how many times you have visited? As far as Arambai is concerned, how Arambai has formed and what was the target? Do you clearly known about the background of Arambai? I m a naga from manipur, and i know even an iota of what is exactly happening in manipur. I will make it shorter but i hope you all will understand about this proxy was in manipur. Precisely, and frankly saying, today's crises is directly involved by the central govt of BJP from Delhi. When Amit shah came to vist manipur he said, you take care of the valley and i will take care in the hills. What did he mean vy that? Kuki militants were allow to fire their automatic weapons from above the hills, why did the indian army stop them not to fire and kill innocent meities people? And when the meities volunteers fire back, why did the indian army stop them not to fire with licence guns? What kind of role Amit shah is playing at the cost of human life? Therefore, Arambai tanggol is a young group of people who came out to protect their people and their land unlike happening in mayanmar. If kukis claim the land of nagas lets see where they will be send. In war many unwanted things are happened, but in comparation to other wars manipur war is nothing, what arambai is doing they are doing the right things. Everything Kuki does is legal according to Karan& anything Meitei does is illegal.
He made it seem like Kukis vs Nagas happened and soon after SoO agreement was signed. That's not what happened. Naga, Kuki conflict happened in 1993-1997 and Kukis were m--ssacred in the thousands. SoO agreement was only signed only in 2008. Kuki armed groups only sprang up in 1990s and were a direct consequence of threats from Meitei and Naga insurgency, Meitei UNLF was formed way back in 1964. As a result of Kuki, Naga conflict, the conflict between Kuki-Paite started because the Paites/Zomis didn't like Kukis arming themselves so they also took up arms in 1997. So a lot has happened between the Naga-Kuki conflict and the signing of the SoO agreement. The Kukis have made it very clear from day 1 that they had no intention of secession from India, they clearly stated that the only reason they were armed was to protect themselves from bigger Meitei and Naga groups. When in 2004 a Paite IPS officer Thangthuam was k--lled by Meitei insurgents as a "New year gift to Churachandpur" and 2006 mass r--pe of Hmar girls at Lungthulien by Meitei insurgents, the Kuki public along with their insurgents think it's best to call in Indian army to flush out Meiteis from Kuki areas because they have been causing too much pain to the Kukis. That's when the SoO agreement was signed the GoI, GoM and Kuki groups.

Don't be selective in sharing knowledge. SOO was signed in 2005 between Assam Rifle and Kuki mercenaries, just after 7 years after naga kuki clash (1993-1997). Only when questions started arising of the legality of SOO, the state govt was fooled/played to signed in 2008.
