Benzhou 50 retro 4 Stroke China Scooter runs bad - but why??

- The cheap Benzhou 50 ccm retro china scooter starts after many kicks but shuts off right after. We find out why and start with checking if fuel gets to the carb. To check that it´s the easiest to open the carburetor float bowl drain screw and see how much fuel comes out. This seems to be okay so we just drain the old dark gasoline.
The kick starter works but sometimes won´t go back to it´s position so we remove the variomatic cover to clean and grease the kick starter mechanism. While the vario cover is off its a good time to check the air filter because a clocked air filter can also cause a bad idling.
We mount all that back together and check the kick starter, this problem is now fixed but the scooter still won´t run as supposed to. So I decide to remove the carburettor. To get to it it is necessary to remove the plastic cover unterneath the seat. Then we can take the carb out, clean it and put it back in. The idling jet was clocked a little bit so hopefully this was the problem. After the Benzhou scooter runs well we change the oil.
In part 2 we make the scooter faster and repair everything else what is left over, like the front brake, battery and E-Start.

The cable that’s cut. Is the rev limiter sensor. So I think the previous owner wanted it to go a bit faster than original.

I have just bought one of these scooter's not new . seller told me been in dry store around a year . now it turns over and then cut's out / pleased I watched your video ,now I have some idea what I need to do . replace old fuel and engine oil and take out carb and do as show in your video / I have to get this scooter running in order to be able to take it to a motor bike garage for a MOT . hoping it will pass . look forward to your next video regarding making scooter go faster .

i put a different (faster) CDI in it and it runs great.
I have the same bike and won't electric start . I'm knew to bikes , it kick starts. It was electric starting every time . Had it a month now . Any idea ?

Idk what you mean. The fuel pump maybe?
kleines update zu dem scooter: er hat vor 4 wochen den besitzer gewechselt und würde ansich prima laufen, wnn es jetzt nicht den anlasser erwischt hätte. kickstart rutscht durch, also leider gerade stillstand.
aber echt interessant, was man so alles findet, wenn man lediglich nach tips zum veerkleidung abbauen sucht. da findet man doch glatt seinen eigenen roller! 😜
wo findet man dich? dann könntest du gern noch ein weiteres ründchen mit deinem schützling drehen ;)
😄 sicher dass es der ist? Leider ist die Qualität der Teile allgemein bei diesen Rollern nicht die beste würde ich sagen 😕
@@bikedogtor1663 den fehler hab ich gefunden, es war die batterie. und auch ein anlasser ist für mich ein verschleißteil, das mit der zeit auch mal kaputt gehen darf. wenn nichts mehr kaputt geht, wer soll denn dann noch das reparieren erklären? 😉
und ja, wirklich komplett ganz sicher! die pickel auf der schnauze, der riss im scheinwerfer samt klebeband- resten, die rote kriegsbemalung auf den flanken, die ich gerade am abpuhlen bin und sogar das rote topcase, das als erstes bei mir geflogen ist, weil nicht auf zu bekommen
😜 fand es genial, wer findet schon genau sein fahrzeug auf youtube! wie gesagt, stell ihn dir gern nochmal hin für ein folgevideo. von seinem ursprünglichen wohnort bei der kneipe ist er garnicht sso weit weg.

I use 10w40 on all scooters

@@bikedogtor1663 Sometimes there is a plastic insert right in the intake of the air cleaner. It does cause a low air intake and the scooter runs like crap. I pulled mine out and its free air no restriction. I am at 28,600 kms on it.

Hava a chinese scooter with that simular engine. It runs, BUT.... when you accelerate it goes up and down in power.
Some times it won't accelerate and totally looses power.
Cleaned the carburetor, get clean fuel and air.
Thing is driving me NUTS

Sound like a problem with fuel flow. Try bypassing the membrane fuel switch

It's strange that when you put it on his center stand, it will accelerate very normal.
But when you put on it to ride it. It seems to loose power and stall.
@@Toxicdemon2 - Once I had similar issue! Turn out the fuel hose was badly positioned and produced a kink that restricted fuel flow in some conditions!
It's extremely important to route cables and hoses properly! ;-)
BTW leaking hoses, namely vacuum hoses are also a common culprit for , so called, random behavior. Make sure they're secure and tight.

Super billiges Zeug gebrauchen und für mindestens den doppelten preis verkaufen.
Dieser Scooter den du im Video gezeigt hast, kostet mit Import und allem, rund 600/650 Euro, der Neupreis beim Händler ist über das Doppelte!!!
Brauchst du später einmal Ersatzteitele, dann erfolgt die nächste Abzocke.
Voor allem bei der plastik Bekleidung. Weil die am ehesten Kratzer hat oder kaputt geht.
China scooter, laast die Finger weg von den Dingern.
