I really enjoyed this mate, thanks.
We are heading off to do this in a few weeks so appreciated you sharing your experience
Holy shit 😲 this made me want to actually get in shape for the first time in my life so I can do this myself
Haha I love it “I’m on a mountain”
Awesome, brought back some great memories of 25 years ago.
Inspirational
Fantastic video. Editing, music and visuals superb. You have a grand charisma on video and a big talent in videography- lovely to watch
Thank you so much!
Thank you for your amazing video
Beautiful captured the winter overland .
Just brilliant. Thank you
My pleasure
Always look back! The view is always amazing after us. 🥰 your vdo make me wanna go back and do it again.
Hello friend. You should do more hiking.
Epic Tassie
I’m off to do this in December ! I’m so excited you covered this track !
Great video! This is one of the most popular trails in Australia on HiiKER
Cool video, Pretty interesting to see all the new huts, I wasn't aware they had been built. Cheers
Amazing video Alain!!
Thanks!
love your work as per usual! your videos bring me so much comfort and joy, I save them for a rainy day :)
Hey Claire. Thank you so much. I’m really glad they do.
Woweee!!! Love the views! Love the production! Love the singing! See you on the next video 🤙🏾
Thanks man.
Awesome bro another banger
Appreciate it
Thanks Alain.Great hike and content 👍
Thanks 👍
Another great video. Thanks for bringing us along. I especially enjoyed the singing in this one 😂. Well done on another awesome hike!
Glad you enjoyed it. My pleasure.
Just went to dove lake two months ago I love Tassie
Loved your video. Did the track in March and enjoyed the memories while watching it. Liked the copper mine exploration 😊. We didn’t go to old Pelion hut so it was great to see. Your singing added even more enthusiasm to the video. Your food also inspired me. Never thought of taking seaweed or dried mushrooms.
Loving the videos mate, doing the walls of Jerusalem and a couple of other multi day hikes in Tassie this year. Videos giving me good inspiration ❤
Awesome babe, another banger! You gonna inspire so many others passionate hikers or to be a great biker ✨💫 well done with the editinf👏
Thanks babe. Yes, hope to many bikers can be inspired by me 😆
Wow, absolutely gorgeous presentation and editing my friend! This looks and sounds amazing!
Thank you so much!
Loved it! I'm watching as many videos of the OT as I can, I'm booked for May next year, and I am struggling with the wait! Love your quirky ways, and loved the 4 non blondes exit!
Haha. Thanks. Good luck for May :D
Great video man, I just love Tasmania in all weathers... But it can be rough sliding all the time, I climbed Mt Murchison in the wet, and that was an experience... That was ballsy of you to climb Mt Ossa in the snow, well done. One thing that'd be great is if you showed us the map at the end or beginning of every day to see the route. Since the video is on the short side, it can be confusing for the viewer.
Hey mate. Thanks for the comment and the feedback. Definitely something I can think of for the next video.
Great video, thank you for sharing. My dad and I are coming to Tasmania for the first time in August and doing this hike.
You said on one of the nights it was minus 40!!! 😮Did you mean minus 4? Because minus 40 is insanely cold haha 😅
Looks unreal, what a trip! I definitely lol’ed when you broke out with a “Sometimes I’m Alone” rendition…that would have to keep you going for the next 10 hours… at least! 🥴😆 Happy travels! ✨
Love it. Someone finally got it. Thanks :)
Looking shmick like usual brother ✌
Thanks 👍
Great video. It's a weird fact of tramping that I had more snow in February than you did in the middle of winter.
I know right. So weird.
That was one giant tree there! 23:05 . Beautiful full waterfalls, but I guess with such a wet environment rain and puddles are to be expected. This looked like a long hike to do on your own but judging by this video you enjoyed it none the less! Agree with the other comments this video is very well compiled and the music tracks are perfect. Carla says maybe less of the singing 😮 but don't let that stop you! Gotta keep the cheer up on those long days you had!
Absolutely. Especially when it’s cold and wet, a bit of singing helps keep the morale up. But loved the hike more than I expected. Thanks for the comment Jeremy. Hope to visit you and Carla soon.
My Bet, if you had more time, you goto Pine Valley again.
But great trip and the Ossa summit must have been great.
Was tempting.
Great vid. Is that a GoPro? .. which model? Cheers!
Mate thanks for this very entertaining video. I have done the track 16 times and never tire of it. Your cousin Richard (he sent me the link) and I, get around these parts most years. I really like the way you filmed and produced this. Some of your silhouettes and just how you didn't "over-narrate" it, made for great viewing. Let me know if you ever need transport in the Vic High Country.
Pete
Big thanks Pete for your offer and comment. Glad you enjoyed the vid. Yes, I can see why people keep going back to the OT. Wouldn't mind doing it myself again, or entering from the Walls through the Never Never.
@@AlainStewart you're welcome.
Richard and I have just lined up a walk for end of October.
I'd also like to do the Never Never Trip in December, if I can swing it. I've been through there 3 times already it just gets more magical every time. From the height of Summer to the depths of Winter.
Cross the Mersey at your earliest opportunity. If you luck out from high water, there's a very shallow broad pool just downstream from Hartnett Falls- past the end of the gorge. I've been there in Winter and it was hardly mid-calf deep. Then you can walk upstream along the West bank of the Mersey to meet the Overland Track if you want.
You won't regret the walk. Keep going with the content production, it's an absolute pleasure to watch. You've got the formula right.
Cheers
Pete
Fantastic video, with really nice shots. You get a real sense of the place from this.
Can I ask about your footwear choices for winter on the OT? I saw you're wearing boots. Are they waterproof boots? Or did you wear waterproof sox? Or just dry them out when you got to the huts?
Hey mate. Thanks for the comment. Was wearing leather boots which were once waterproof, and wearing waterproof socks over a Smartwool merino sock. I brought both Bridgedale and Sealskinz. The water did get through both of them eventually, but my feet never felt soaked - just damp on the inside. Although, they did help keep my feet warm except when I was in the snow. Hop e it helps :)
Hi, really love your video, just what to ask do you need to register for the hut?
Hey man. No need to register for the hut. Simply just go and camp there. Beds are on a 'first-come-first-served' basis. The only thing you need to register are your trip intensions at the start of the hike in the booklet. Good luck.
@@AlainStewart plan to go the OL this winter, do we need 4 season tent and what sleeping bag you use
What exact month is that? Superb video and cool kit by the way
Thanks mate. I love my gear. Went in August.
On the mountain climbs, are there signs or anything to see where you're going, or if you're going the right way??
Hey. There are normally arrows or rock cairns which you follow to guide you to the right track or summit. Sometimes there would be a pile of rocks to show you where not to go too. Takes a bit of getting used to.
Hello 👋 how are you
