Woww....its amazing how people value music with no authencity, no real meaning, no creativity, but then you get to listen to something like this and its nothing like you've ever heard before. Music like this can inspire you to do what you wanna do and be what you want to be! There so much words to describe it. Its beautiful, creative, interesting engaging, questioning, endearing........and the list goes on! Im total awe!

Takes me clear out of my comfort zone into a thrilling new ambience full of always surprising but coherent musical ideas, like what it must be like out in space flying freely through the stratosphere but always with the aromas of the earth in your nostrils, comfortable with the apparent chaos, but always knowing where we are headed...adventuring, searching...risking, daring, amazing stuff!! Much love to Gonzalo, who I first met in Cuba when he was a kid, and when he was playing drums in Nicolas Reynoso's group with my son Pablo Menendez on guitar..How he has grown.. a true giant of jazz and world music now.

The most graceful pianist of the Twenty First Century! The spirit of the ancestors flows through Gonzalo's music. There is also a bit of the great Phineas Newborn in his touch. A work of art from a work of art himself. Never exclusive but rather all encompassing.
Loved to work with these guys. Listening to for over 5 years now after Gonazalo's recording with Ithamara. Where are they now?

Gonzalo Rubalcaba es todo un genio compositor y virtuoso del piano,pero creo que lo que hace es "música para músicos".Me parece demasiado denso,a veces disonante,complejo en sus concepciones...ello lo vuelve muy exigente para el oyente que se atreva a escucharlo¡¡
