Roni Kaspi is an astonishing drummer. Each bit has a musical meaning. She is the best fit with Cohen music.
'Each bit has a musical meaning' - you articulated perfectly what i was feeling when listening to this beautiful music. She's a perfect fit to Cohen's vision, but she elevates it also. Epic stuff all the way. Kudos also to Elchin Shirinov's fluidity and creativity. Love this! Many thanks to the musicians and the excellent Arte for sharing this beauty.

She is my favourite together with Daniel Dor... strange to say while Continuo is my favourite album... but I really don't like when the drums go all out there. Might be the kit where some elements, especially the snare, are so prominent and penetrating, but take the drum solo parts in emotional storm, it's literally the only part of the album I don't like.
Cannot account for taste and all that, but Roni is so subtle and elegant. Marvellous :)

In my opinion Mr. Avishai Cohen is one of the very few greatest double bass player of this century. His ideas and approach to music is incredible.

30:30 min this drummer's solo. Made me cry. She modulates a fluid music, soft and so powerful. Really playing the harmonic and melody in a rhythmic trance that elevates anyone present. Wowowo. Symphony

Wow, so many comments about Roni Kaspi. And truly, she serves those complex patterns ever so smoothly. Her amazing drumming kinda steals the show for me as well. What fine musicianship! how much fun to watch and hear! Especially since female drummers seem to be underrepresented to me, still.
At the Montreal Jazz Festival, the finale had me jumping out of my seat, pumping my fist in the air, and crying out with joy with tears in my eyes. I didn't know jazz could do that. Just so powerful.
I saw and heard it life. It made me crazily happy. So much thank you.

Amazing concert, such flow and clarity in the notes and phrases. Retired professional drummer from Los Angeles here, after 40+ years, I'd like to think I know good music and musicianship. Mr. Cohen's playing is heavenly, his solo @24:00 is phenomenal, Elchin plays those keys like a million shining stars and Roni, well she is outstanding in this genre, much love and respect for her playing. In my experience, playing this style of jazz is not easy, your listening skills must be on point every second and like a great billiard player, can look many moves (or beats/notes) ahead, and drummers do this on the fly and in real time, to hit every note just right. Ya see, playing drums isn't just about 'what' we play but also what we do not play, and not so much 'when' we play, as much as when we do not play, it is the power of the rest, with respect of the writing and instrumental manipulation of every space in the music, gold, like this, is created, and the people are blessed. 🙏🎶🎶🎶 ❤

Avishai Cohen always outdoes himself... I would never have believed there would be another ensemble better than when performed with Omri Mor and Daniel Dor... But this is magnificent and his best offering yet! Been a fan for years! Peace from South Africa 🇿🇦

Avishai's standards are high as usual. Roni Kaspi is a welcome discovery, she is really musical. And last but not least: Great sound! As usual, the ARTE Audio department delivers. Video isn't too shabby either.
Agree with everything. Roni Kaspi in particular caught my ears: she's very musical, as you say, and has a very expressive way of drumming, with her own "sound", which I find rare with drummers (the only other drummer with an individual "sound" that comes to my mind is Manu Katché).

That is a really good suggestion. Though, she is not new here in the US. she graduated in 2021 from Berklee. College of Music So she is not totally new and the world of jazz and music knows her. She will be back in America with the Trio very soon.
