The end of the video you talked about the modern vs standard view: possible to delete the older standard template? I seem to keep send customers the older standard invoices.

Is it possible to pick between two different customized templates depending on what is being invoiced? For example, I have added verbiage to one template that is not needed on the other. How can we pick which to use when creating and invoice from an estimate? Thank you!

Are you able to customize the receive payments section? Like if they're paying by credit card, is there a way to charge a fee? Like, we charge a convenience fee, but only when they use something other than cash or check.

You would need to create a Discount item and manually add them

You have to wait until your after gets it activated. Companies with Sales Tax and/or Multicurrency are the last ones to get it
We use recurring invoices (templates). When I pull up a prior month invoice, it is difficult to view because its an "old template". To avoid this, I have made "Modern" (the suggested Style template) as default- hopefully-for going forward. Do I have to recreate all my scheduled invoice templates? In other words when you open a scheduled invoice, it does not tell you what STYLE it is
You might need to yes. I am not sure if they will fix that any time soon
Would you agree that at the moment, if we are still using the custom templates, the only issue we will experience is not being able to use the Email View and PDF View features of the new invoices screen? It looks like the customer is still receiving/seeing the custom template design even though our data entry is happening on a Modern View templated screen.

You have to wait until they convert your file too. Its going to be a process of a few months
Thank you for a GREAT TUTORIAL. My question is: How can a PERMANENTLY change to template for invoice from "Modern" to "AIRY CLASSIC"...I'm creating 50 plus invoices to same customer and this is time consuming to have to change it manually each time. Is there a way to permanently change to template?

How can you send several invoices to the same client? I'm not talking about Estatement, I'm referring to a client who wants all of his invoices open. I've only been able to send them one by one and what I need is for them all to appear in the same email. Is it possible? How?
You can batch send / re-send them via the Invoices Tab in the Customers or Sales area
Hector - I appreciate your video's - thank you! We are a construction company and make material purchases as we build and complete projects. When invoicing we combine, "like" purchases such as all Home Depot into one line item. Prior to the update we would add the charge, then delete it but not unlink it and would manually update the line item to include the combined charges. I can't find a way to do that now and display it appropriately on the invoice. Help!
There is no workflow in QBo for this on the new design… maybe the will add it later on.

@@debpatterson6721 I've had this same issue and I think I have a workaround. Create the invoice, dump all the HD receipts onto it and then use that data to create a new line item (Using a new Item ie: Home Depot Reimbursements that is coded to the Job Materials or Reimbursed Supplies account) which equals the total of the receipts. Next, delete each of the individual receipts that were dumped onto the invoice (unlinking them). Send the invoice to the customer. Lastly, create another invoice and add all the receipts again, but this time add an extra line below all the receipt lines and code it to the same Home Depot Reimbursements item as a NEGATIVE number zeroing out all the receipts on the invoice. Your final invoice balance will be zero and you've effectively marked all the expenses billed. This whole thing sucks and I'm very mad about this issue, but this may be a workaround that is doable for both of us.
Is there a way to switch back to old layout? Is this for all users or for particular plan only? I don't find if very useful. I don't like it that they set it to DEFAULT😪

HI Hector is there any way you can customize the invoice to show only a subtotal for a group of items on a project --- this was something that could be done in Quickbooks enterprise - I would be able to group all billable items into one line not show the detail and then give the description on the subtotal line so the customer saw a nice neat one line total for the construction project. I have not found any videos out there that addresses being able to customize the invoice that way. I am so very frustrated - any workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a way to add notes to an Invoice? For example, I need to make a note on a past due invoice that I talked to the customer today and they said they are sending a check.

I'm having an issue with my invoice email. I'm not sure how to remove the automated message at the bottom of my invoice emails to the customers. I tried creating a new form but it still shows up. If I could get some help, that would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I set my custom Invoice/Estimate templates as defaults but when I create an invoice or estimate, it still defaults to Modern. Do I have to switch to my new template very time I create an invoice/estimate?

@@HectorGarciaCPA So, will I not be allowed to use the custom templates I have created soon and only be able to use the "Modern" template? Also, do you have a video showing how to record "Use Tax" so it reflects in the "Sales Tax" needs to be paid quarterly?
Have you seen that they will adding the "Account Summary" to the new Modern invoices? It is such a shame that they took that option off! I have retainers that are drawn down, and now they are gone for the new Modern invoices.

Man I hate how limited this is. Gonna keep creeping along with my 20224 subscription until my accountant picks what they are moving to next because they are jumping off the QB ship.

How to customize the size of the columns especially the product column. It is too small not showing the whole item details.

Is there a drop down "ship via" option? Also how can you show backorder items? Many times a customer may order lets say 20pcs of an item but only have say 12 in stock. Should be able to shoe 12 shipped and 8 bsck order. Horrible.
QBo has no Back Order mechanic, ship via is a free textbox, no dropdown

What a disappointment the new invoicing format has become. The new "Modern" option looks like it was designed by a programmer needing a new seeing-eye dog. No effort went into design aesthetics. It's like one of those bad signs you see online where nobody thought to have a designer look at it first. I get that it's all future-designed for emailing but some of us still like to print paper for our clients to walk out with in hand. The new designs are bland, uninspired, and as some have mentioned below "ugly" but they will work for getting paid and that's ultimately the point. Focus your creative energy on the things you can control. Here's to your financial success despite QBO

Cant use new modern format because it wont add the product categories. Must use ugly old format. I absolutely hate hate quickbooks. Dont have time to switch to something else. I wish i knew qbo sucks before i set everything up.
Old templates chop up text in columns because some idiot forgot to program the excel spreadsheet to wrap/fit the words in the collums appropriately. Why are they so amateur. Man it sucks

My screen looks nothing like your screen, I am guessing just like @MrAndschaan also commented on. I would also like to know how to get the screen to look like yours.
