I JUST got my tracking info from Airguns of Arizona... Finally I will own the legendary HW44, the first PCP I fell in love with.

Awesome review, showing the supporting testing, and also humility. I just ordered one.

Good review but maybe think about not giving away any spoilers :-)
I was surprised that after we saw the target results, and you talked us through them, THEN you said we could watch it happening! That's like the author telling us 'who dies and who did it' in the first chapter :-)
Take us on the story with you.
Good review, you stated your aims and then delivered this. Lots of detail. Thanks.
I'm interested in a pistol with sights too.

Thank you for the kind words on this. It is difficult pleasing everyone - and I am still experimenting with the most appropriate style for these review/demo/presentations. But I am pleased you got some positivity from this. Thank you for the comment and please consider subscribing if you would like to see more.

I'm just a click away from ordering this with the scope and moderater. Yes it's pricey, about £900 it's going to cost me, which would get you a reasonable 12 ft/lb rifle. I already have the HW 110, which is excellent and will kill rabbits (or 10p pieces if you prefer) at 40 yards. My only complaint is the fiddly as hell magazine insertion and removal, I always seem to need both hands, to hold both the mag release lever and the cocking lever. Over 45 years of air gunning, Weihrauch has always been solid and reliable, that's the deciding factor. Good review, and yes the Germans do say V and nor W ( "Ve haff vays of making you talk") Salutations from sunny Cornwall, where we know the right way with the scone! ( Sorry for non Devonians or Cornish for that)

Firstly , I must say it was a very well presented vidieo , and was both clear in picture and audio ..
A few years ago , prior to it's release , I waited and waited in expectation , then on it's arrival on the market I watched several vids in anticipation of a purchase ... Then ,, I sat back and thought to myself , why do I actually want a pistol , which I convinced myself it would be for back garden plinking ( beer cans , which are numerous ) and back garden plinking ONLY , no way would I attempt to do vermin control with ANY pistol ... My decision NOT to buy one was based on a few factors
    A. They are not accurate enough , yes your target test was fantastic , and accuracy was top draw , but how often in an hunting scenario ( say a barn at close quarters ) do you find something to lean on , further more , I'd challenge an Olympic champion pistol shooter to hit ACCURATELY a fidgety rat in a barn let alone dealing with the 6fpe limit , yes , enough to kill a rodent , but it would need an headshot .. which leads me on to the second point ......
    B. Price , I believe at the time of it's inception , it was around the same price as the HW110 carbine , now , ask a hundred people what they would buy if given the choice , I'd be guessing the carbine .. especially for vermin control ..
If on the other hand you wanted the HW pistol for 10mtr competition , I think you'd find folk would pay a bit extra for a steyr or some other dedicated pistol ... This is not to say the HW44 is bad , I should imagine sales are quite good , just that ( especially at the price ) I find it floating around in a void .. I did actually buy a pistol , and use it solely free hand , sadly for me , I've yet to hit anything consistently .. but the one I settled for was the PP700 in .22 Calibre .. only cost £200 with a red dot sight chucked in , ok I had to adjust the power down ( from 9fpe to 5 fpe ) ..
Don't get me wrong , I love my HW100 AND the wife's HW110 ( although I've sent it back with oiwer issues under warranty ) I AM a wiehrauch fan ...
I think they missed a trick as well ( as far as I know ) with the PP700 there's an whole plethora of aftermarket add on's INCLUDING a adjustable stock .. now THAT WOULD have made the HW44 more sellable , certainly made my pistol 100% better ... To recap .. it's ( HW44 ) a mega accurate pistol , but only as accurate as the shooter , even more so then a rifle .. furthermore , I really don't think it's value for money , SPECIALLY as you can get it's bigger brother at around the same price .. think that sums it up ...

EPIC reply! Okay. I certainly see your points. But have you used the pistol? It really is a super gun. I was just having a go with a red dot sight, and it frankly amazing. I can't comment on the value from anything other than my perspective, but at the price this is advertised for, this is an outstanding purchase! I am so surprised how good this gun is... I have had so much fun and I think this would be a really fun new skill to improve my skills with. I can't comment on any other similar gun, but this will be the benchmark by which I judge other pistols. Thank you for your excellent comments!

No , I've not had a go with it , and I'm sure it's both better in quality AND accuracy then the pp700 ( also a PCP ) .. nevertheless , I think the results freestanding would be round about the same , indeed , I'm a really poor pistol shooter , the main point I think ( not a criticism ) is value for money .. you have a carbine , and a pistol by the same manufacturer at virtually the same price , if not the same price .. I couldn't honestly see where weirauch were aiming there sales .. obviously this was AFTER I knew the cost , by the same token , the same technology AND design are virtually identical ... And in fairness those facts have probably tied weihrauchs hands as far as pricing go's .. I really MUST learn how to spell weihrauch though ..

I have to say it’s a rather big claim, Steyr & FWB may have a very different opinion? How many Olympic medals have they won?
Shooting off a rest seated, with a rifle scope on it, doesn’t do it any favours. Off hand, standing with open sights, at ten metres would be the way to go

Most overpriced pistol ever, for a little more cash some shops sell benelli target pistols which are infinitely more accurate and better value for money.
Upon hearing how much they expected you to pay I couldn’t believe my ears.
A comparison against other pcp pistols of all prices will be interesting to watch!

For someone that supposedly knows so much about Weihrauch you should know it’s not pronounced with a W but a V and putting a bloody great big scope on a pistol nobody can miss your not even using a NRA approved rest it has to be flat how much help do you need to hit the target sorry but the first thing you come out with is how very experienced you are with Weihrauch there was no need just dam annoying.
