    hey big fella, remember the old daikin "service" app they updated and ruined? turns out if you log in up the top right (requires an email) you can get access to all the good step by step bsc buttons/ hp lights field settings. I recently had a vrv style split ducted that had this same fault, bit of a different story since the place just had 3 phase reconnected after going through flood. Had to run the thing through test mode before it would fire up. Keep cracking on mate love the vids

    I so thought you were going to say there was a power surge when you said the power company had messed with the power. With big jobs like this if you have a sparky on the site consider getting them to add a power surge breaker in the switchboard.

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  Před rokem

      Mate I was so nervous! I was thinking power surge too 🤦🏼‍♂️. I’ll definitely get a surge protector sorted. It’s a non negotiable for me from now on.

    Always test what you’ve done when phases are re energized they don’t get re connected simultaneously, there’s a time gap between each phase connection and if phase 1 is connected first and the Daikin has control on its enough time to register u1 loss of phase. More often loss of phase than phase reversal. Massive issues for energy supplier if they start reversing consumer mains

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  Před rokem +1

      Very interesting, thanks for that! I appreciate it mate and that all makes complete sense.
      What happened in this video is complacency and assumptions from my part. I learn something new everyday it seems. I will say though, I have absolutely seen Aus grid reverse the phase when disconnecting and reconnecting. I’ve actually made a video on one. So my assumptions weren’t completely out of no where. Regardless thanks again mate!

      @@maracservices yeah it definitely does happen but not frequently and can cause them big issues etc so they do try and do their best to avoid the headaches at the very least.

    Nice repair Mitch. Was that “cage “ put around the condenser to stop a thief or for visual looks?

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  Před rokem +1

      Thank you ! Honestly I’m not sure about the cage. It got put in after the install. I think it might be for the dogs incase they go down there because there is a drop off a bit further down.

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  Před rokem +2

      Unfortunately not mate. Like you said, it’s a tricky situation. The customer was very appreciative though and has already got another decent job for me so it was one I’m willing to wear. With all that being said, I actually put a percentage on top of these larger installs that allow for teething issues like this. So all good, everyone’s happy. 👍🏻

      @@maracservices happens very often when your local energy company changes energy counter. They just replace it and it doesnt matter for em if its L1 L2 OR L3

    Hey Mitch, which one do you prefer Airtouch or my air? Or do you have a different one you like better? Iv only installed the airtouch so would like to know what everyone else is installing in the aircon world.

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  Před rokem +1

      I’m definitely a MyAir guy. I’ve installed many of them. I’ve installed one air touch and didn’t like it but to be fair that was a few years ago so they may be better nowadays. I think it’s also important to note that all third party controllers that incorporate “smart” zones, wifi etc are all great and I have them in my home but they are also definitely not going to last 20 years. So I don’t push it towards customers who want reliability. But to answer your question, I prefer my air.

    thanks for the video - today was the first time using our Daikin AC 3 phase and just does not seem to be getting cold and pushed the test button and says U1. Ausgrid did change the lines to the house from 4 lines to 3. *Is it bad to run with a U1 error?

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  Před 9 měsíci +1

      U1 means the phase has been reversed. It will not produce any cold air what so ever until it’s been rectified however you can still run the indoor fan fine.
      I would turn the circuit breaker off for 15 patient minutes then turn it back on. If the fault code remains then you need a technician to change the phases around. If the fault disappears then you are good to go.
      Thanks

On my phone I have the Daikin and Fujitsu apps. If I’m going to a service call I generally make sure I have that brands info on hand.

    Hey mate just wondering if you know what possible could cause a8 error on a ducted daikin 16kw r32. Thanks

    • @maracservices
      @maracservices  Před rokem

      Thats an issue with the incoming power to the indoor fan motor from memory. Did it happen randomly? If so, first things first.. You need to turn the power off to the unit. Not just off at the controller but off at the isolator or circuit breaker and leave it off for 15 patient minutes minimum. Then turn it back on and see if the fault has cleared and if it happens again. cheers

      It’s a power issue mate. I’d make sure the unit has power and if it does check for power on both sides of all the fuses located on the outdoor pcb.
