The DAIKIN R32 Ducted Air Conditioner no one can seem to fix! ⎮ U0 Error
In this video I attend a service call to fix a Daikin Ducted Air Conditioning system that two technicians before me had already tried to fix and couldn't work it out.
Even a third tech tried to work it out over the phone and was going in the wrong direction. Watch the video to see what the issue was.

I use Trace a Gas with the CPS electronic leak detector and it works very well, however it would go crazy with a leak this big and I, like you wouldn’t have bothered using it had I been able to hear it as loud as you could. I also would have done exactly as you did in advising the customer but true, that unit is on it’s last legs and I hate whenever I do a repair like that and it fails 3 months down the track and the client reminds me how much they paid 3 months back and it has already failed again.. That’s why the replacement option gets pushed onto customers..

Had mine since new eight years now. Works exceptionally well. But that's just me comparing with the reverse cycle ducted systems I installed back in the 1970s. The E9 code is coming up often lately, and I'm becoming suspicious of the life expectancy of compressors in these systems running R412 refrigerant. I restart it by pressing the mode selection button and it then returns to run mode. No problem for anything from a few days to a few weeks, then it does it again.

Hey Mitch, a somewhat parallel issue with reactive chemicals in electrical engineering. In the 60's or 70's there was an electrical cable insulating material used worldwide that after a number of years caused a chemical reaction with the copper conductors. It's a greenish stain/goo. I only came across this with a house renovation. Fortunately it does'nt cause insulation breakdown, just a massive disgusting stain, especially in wall switches, light fittings, where you don't really want to see and deal with it. Funnily enough, in the era before cheap chinese products invaded the landscape.

Good pickup! In future though the side port on the VC2G is meant for a service port as it still has a schrader core, you’re effectively just evacuating as if you hadn’t pulled the cores from the unit service valves (assuming you’ve left that schrader core in on the side of the VC2G). Remove the stem and the schrader core from the top of the tool and attach your vacuum hose to the top of the VC2G, then there were will be uninterrupted flow.
