Modern, sophisticated, top-of-the-line Russian submarines armed with nuclear missiles are by far more dangerous than surface ships, including United States Navy's aircraft-carrier-based battle groups. The era of large, heavy battleships and "flat tops" is over. These "surface behemots" are now literally obsolete and highly vulnerable.

However, whole Western Navies and air forces are OBSOLETE since Russian air force had deployed Air to air R37m Hypersonics missiles range 400km and air to air and air to ground and sea targets Gremlin Hypersonics missile mind blowing range..👉...1500km those two missiles had rendered whole Western Air Forces obsolete. Moreover, Su-34 and Mig-31 are also armed with additional larger Hypersonics missiles Kinzhal and Zemyevik to target warships and aircraft carriers. Kinzhal is range 2000km and Zemyevik is range 5000km. those two had rendered whole Western Navies obsolete. Modern diesel submarines are still effective weapons. Many countries are still developing and using diesel submarines. Actually those are "diesel-electric" submarines, most of the time they are running on battery therefore it is much quieter than nuclead submarines.
