- This DIY ribbon wreath tutorial shows how to make a ribbon wreath on a wire frame plus a quick Bowdabra bow maker tutorial at the end to show how to make a cute little bow for this wreath!
Supplies used for this wreath:
1 Dollar Tree 14 inch wire wreath frame
Zip Ties or Pipecleaners
Scissors
Wired ribbon of your choice - I used 8 yards each of 5 different ribbons. Two ribbons are 2 1/2 inches, and 3 are 1 1/2 inches. I recommend using enough ribbon to equal between 9 1/2 and 10 1/2 inches across so there's enough coverage of the wreath frame.
My loop size is about 3 inches, but if you want to make them larger you absolutely can, just keep in mind you will use more ribbon than I did.
This will be a very compact wreath as I've made it, and will measure 18 inches in diameter and about 3 inches deep.
Bow supplies used (optional):
1 pipecleaner
2 pieces of 1 1/2 inch ribbon cut 27 inches each for the streamers
2 pieces of 1 1/2 inch ribbon cut 30 inches each for the bow loops
I used my Bowdabra bow maker, but any type will work or free hand if you can!

To anyone else who might be reading this, I made my first deco mesh bubble wreath in this fashion. What I did after the anchor tie and measurement with my hand was pinched it and acted as if it were tied down, and fluffed it to see if I liked the measurement. I adjusted and measured to my liking if this helps anyone.

Thank you! I think the pipe cleaners to secure it better is probably different, but once I realized I had a "floppy" problem, I needed to fix it lol. I really really wanted to use those 5 ribbons so it was heavy! I had honestly considered scrapping the video at that point, but I figured we all run into issues that need to be fixed now and then, so I may as well show it all! 🤣😊
Thank you for your step by step instruction details. Hopefully, I will be able to work through some of the kinks on my next one. I used 4 ribbons (2/2.5 and 2/1.5). I need to work on my fluffing.

That is a beautiful wreath I'm glad you share this with us and how the bowdabra works I just do my bows by hand I have failed over and over and then put it split on each side and then put a twist tie on it I love the way you made your wreath that is gorgeous

If you zip tie the ribbon on to the frame using the middle two bars you wont have an issue on coverage.

So pretty! I've made several of these for gifts and myself! They do take time to make but so worth it! The combinations are endless because there are so many beautiful ribbons out there! I made one this past Christmas for my MIL with red velvet ribbon with gold trim along the edges! Just all the same color, and it looked so pretty! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! If you use 4 ribbons instead of 5 then it probably won't be so heavy/floppy and won't need the extra securing like I did here. I was just insistent on wanting to use all those ribbons together! 😂

That looked so simple and very cute. You made the instructions very understandable, and let me tell ya, l will turn 71 on March 18th, and I NEED simple instructions, because I might have a senior moment, lol. I have never made a bow in my life, but maybe I will be able to if I get me one of those....'bow dabber' that may not be the right spelling, but I am a louse speller, ......o well sometimes I spell likeI hear it. That is really scary, I did actually graduate high school way back in 1967, sometimes I even wonder how I did that. My husband, Harold, my soul mate, were married for 9 days and then he went to Vietnam for a year. He passed away Dec. 30, 2015, I haven't really wanted to do much of anything since he died, even though we had 2 kids, Harold was my life. Some days are really bad, I even feel like I can't breathe, and it feels like he was just here. One night I was surfing the internet and I saw you ladies making those different wreaths, and I told my daughter about them. I said maybe I could try that, so I am, just as soon as I can get the supplies. Thank you so much for sharing all your creativity with us, I have watched several of your videos. I love your wreath, colors, patterns and smart tips like the big zip ties! I tried using little black ones from Dollar Tree. Problem is when you pull the loops out, they occasionally broke!😩🙈

Jen this is so cute and I suppose simple looking (not that it is), but not all the fluff I guess. The colors you chose with be be great spring into summer colors. I can see adding a small bunny then taking him off and adding a pair of flip flops or something beachie again not big just to change it up. Just cute!! Thank you and I enjoy watching you. Hi Shannon, thank you very much! I had gotten the ribbon I used in the video from Sam's Club a few years ago. I didn't mention that in the video because they no longer sell Springtime ribbon, just Christmas now. You can find 50 yard rolls on craftoutlet.com for a good price, or even Amazon (you have to really compare on Amazon though, some prices are way too high).
