- Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by actor Rupert Everett to discuss everything from the Russell Brand controversy and his own interactions with the ‘cancelled' comic on the set of the movie ‘St Trinian’s’, the backlash Bradley Cooper’s received for playing a Jewish role and much more.
Rupert quotes the Magna Carta when talking about Brand as he feels that no one should be passing judgement before he has seen due process.
He recalls his time spent with Russell Brand while filming, explaining that although he was a "strange character" he “behaved perfectly well” on set.

Rupert Everett is a brilliant actor. He always manages to stand out in any medium. Thank you for interviewing him, Piers.
AI agree
For goodness sake all of this Woke nonesense re. Criticizing actors who are not gay for playing gay parts.....not Welsh for playing Welsh parts or not Jewish for playing Jewish parts....Don’t these critics realize that an actor’s job is to PRETEND ?.....What words of wisdom 🤣🤣🤣 should we expect to be coming down the pike in the near future ? Maybe that “only murderers should be allowed to play the likes of Hannibal Lecter?”.....there seems to be no end to this Woke stupidity...by the way I like Rupert Everett , he speaks with common sense...IMO 🇨🇦🇬🇧

I have never heard anyone quote The Magna Carta. And how eloquent was it? Amazing that they got rights 600 years ago after a huge fight…and we give them away in a very righteous fashion.
How utterly refreshing to hear Rupert Everett being intelligent and charming.
as if he's ever not been?
Agree... Talking about PM... Quite comedic and great interview... Was never a fan of PM but having a Re-think...
P. S. : concerning the condition of the dead :
Ecclesiastes 9 : 5, 10...clearly states :
"For the living are conscious that they will die, but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun. "
Very utterly refreshing, can you pass me the tea? We look together at the left and do what we good at, talking small talk, not seeing the big monster on the right? I don't talk about Rupert. I talk about the subjects of talk.
"Would you pass me the tea?" - improperly using the verb 'can' is the sort of mistake which would have marked out a German spy trying to pass himself off as English. Are you too, a rank outsider?@@martjanse5
Rupert, talking sense and being inspirational. It'll never catch on..............Love him.
DJ khaled fr
He believes in the force, shame Disney didn't lol
❤
😂😂 .. yup, Love him
Talking sense? He basically said he is establishment and pro military industrial complex and pro pharmaceutical complex.
Im extremely dissapointed that Hannibal Lecter was played by a non-cannibal. Anthony Hopkins stole the role from some genuinely hungry actors,.
Likewise Leonard Nimoy deprived working Vulcan actors of a prized role in Star Trek. That is illogical.
Absolutely. Serial killers were culturally appropriated in that movie.
@@PeteQuad exactly. How dare a murder-phobic Welshman play a Southern serial killer. It's disgusting.
You made my day. 😂😂😂
So excellently put.
😅
Eloquence and style is disappearing sadly. Most of my generation would agree with that. Rupert Everett is a class act and it’s a shame there aren’t more people like him in his profession.
Love Rupert. He is a survivor and NOT a victim. He talks a lot of sense. He must be horrified by today’s society
Why?
I don’t think he would be horrified more saddened perhaps.
He’s done every deplorable act known to humans 😂. Don’t be so naive in your celeb worship!!!!
It’s not “today’s society”. I’m a progressive and think a lot of this wokeness is idiotic.
I mean he's apparently quite unpleasant so definitely not a victim.
Rupert has become a British icon and matured into a wisened philosopher ❤
Calm down honey, he's a fading star, a former smack head and sex addict turned fringe cult leader. No suprise he's held to such high esteem by the lowest of society.
🙄
Rupert is a cracking person, humorous, clever and always entertaining.
He's cynical enough to be believable.
Rupert was drop dead gorgeous when he was young. He’s still so very attractive because of his personality and his intelligence. He’s a great actor too! Love him ❤
He is still rather attractive.
I remember a good many years ago out clubbing with friends in London.
Rupert was there with a bunch of guys and you could see everyone just itching to go over and say hello.
My good looking but dim friend starts having a conversation with Rupert , all fun and jokes etc.
Then comes back to us and says the guys name is Rupert. He is very nice.
We all look at him stunned.
“You do realise that’s Rupert Everett? “
Can’t be , he says.
Anyway, goes back and carries on with Rupert .
Returns a little while later and says, yes you were right.
He had no clue ☺️
@@monk3yboy69 That’s a great memory of Rupert.
@@monk3yboy69😄
I could listen to Rupert all night long. Such an intelligent, interesting man. I remember seeing him for the first time in Another Country in 1984 and I was instantly smitten.
Always have felt Rupert was a joy to watch on screen...so talented! And refreshing to hear him speak so sensible in this woke insane world we find ourselves in 🤯. Bravo!
What an absolute joy this man is to listen to. A rebel in his early days he has matured into such a wonderful human being and a perfect antidote to all the craziness in the world we are now experiencing. That’s Rupert, not Piers! 😅
My grandad taught me very young that there are only 2 types of people in this world "survivors & then all the rest".
He told me there's no use complaining and that you just get on and keep moving forward. Social media has glorified all the bad things in society and being a victim and being offended is like a badge of honour in this day and age 😏
My grandmother taught me differently - there are two types of people to consider. Not the black or the white, not man or woman - but the giver and the taker. Beware the taker...
@shawroberts5149 Fair enough. Although I would say that only really applies in a plentiful land.
If you were one of the last 2 families on the earth and there was only one loaf of bread left and you have the choice to give that loaf to the other family or take it to feed your own which are you going to choose?
If you won the lottery would your first decision be to give it all away or would you take most of it and give it to your family first?
My grandad taught me there are two types of people in this world: those who divide the world into two types of people and those who don't.
@morningstar9233 Then he falls into the divisive category too then doesn't he 😉😆
Like i said@@donttouchyerbumnsniffit
It's also funny that Rupert says he hardly agrees with Russell Brand's views about anything and then by the end of the interview he's talking about how we are all just part of this one energy moving through the cosmos - and sounding almost exactly like RB!
That's how cult manipulation works my friend, Russell brand is Charles manson reborn in that he isn't actually a killer but he's still a sick sick puppy needing constant validation and a stream of different consciousness to abuse as he performs for the attention and the love his parents so failed to provide.
Nicely discerned!! Isn't it fascinating how we can say exactly the same thing, in slightly different language, and not recognize that......I find it really funny....except it so often leads to unnecessary conflict
The fact that he said he hardly agrees with Russell Brand about anything translates (to me) that he watches RB’s channel and listens intently to what he has to say! Maybe he’s more of a fan than he actually realises!
Rupert would have had that view long before RB, nothing RB says is anything new, its only people with no critical thinking ability who suck up what he says
I agree with some things Rupurt discussed with Pierce. I'll say this, he's a good actor and was a stunning man back in the day. But, he gives off bitter complicated and tortured vibes most times. My thought on this stems from his early personal life from identifying as trans and having a long-term relationship with a woman. Then being bitter when his career in Hollywood tanked after he came out as gay. Understandable and it appears he's matured, figured out his true self. But, the bitterness and contradictions resurface. The silently shading Russell Brand is a good example. Plus his past interviews on straight actors playing gay characters kind of contradicts what he discussed with Pierce. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I picked up that energy back in his Madonna days. Regardless, I wish him luck and sending him good vibes. ✌️
I always liked Mr. Everett's talents. He's quite a funny guy, too. I agree with what he's saying that we can't just chat any more. Nice to see him again.
Now a comment regarding Russell Brand. If he had a an "Envy of wealth" he would have taken the $44 million U.S that the state of California awarded to HIM when he divorced Katy Perry. He did NOT take that money, he just walked away, and he remains financially FAR less wealthy than her, almost penniless by comparison. I think that speaks VOLUMES about him. Kudos to Rupert Everett for quoting The Magna Carta and a man's innocence until guilt is proven!
Envy of wealth means more than just money . Nepotism privilege etc etc
“Almost penniless”
You talk as if you have access to Russell’s financials
God, I adore Rupert Everett & have done for decades 🥰 You just know he ignites any conversation with his acerbic wit & gentlemanly charm ❤️
"Piers Morgan hung like budgie "🤣🤣🤣.... Rupert you legend ❤. And quoting the Magna Carta, perfect. Thank you for being a voice of sense in a very strange time.
What a breathe of fresh air Rupert is, keep on talking
Great interview. Piers must’ve tried so hard not to answer his own questions. Rupert as always so dignified and insightful.
I as a Mexican, still remember my grandfather telling me honor and you word is all you really have, be honorable! be a man or a woman, because that applied to both
What a wonderful interview. Rupert is a gem. Thank you Piers for a well thought out questionnaire.
Rock Hudson managed to convince me he was straight till I was about 40! I'm 73 now and admire him greatly. Rupert is SOOO eloquent! Gay or straight, it is VERY sexy... LOVED his book! Laughed till my socks fell down! Great interview Piers...cheers. xx
Best interview I've seen in a long time. I love Rupert, so cool, elegant , old school and engaging .
Wow, breaking out the Magna Carta 😂😂😂 Love Rupert ❤❤❤
Though quoting it to a Gossip Columnist Demi-God like Pier Morgan might be considered trite or, if not that, certainly pointless.
@@wewhofly we got to watch it on youtube, so i guess that counts for something!
Rupert was brilliant in 'My Best Friend's Wedding'.
Every time I hear "Say a Little Prayer" somewhere, I think of him singing it.
Wasn’t he!! Just loved him. ‘There may not be sex but my God there will be dancing’
Mr Everett is a very elegant speaker
What a refreshing interview peppered with amusement yet plenty of common sense ❤
Excellent, spot on comment! 🙂
Rupert is a legend and I love what he says about death and energy. He is spot on😎

Rupert was and is the most perfect embodiment of British manhood on screen -of what is glorious, romantic and remarkable in theatre and drama! So love seeing and hearing him!
As a gay man in his private life, he embodies British masculinity? 🤔🤨😝
@@thinkingallowed7042Yes, he's that good of an actor.
The push to shame actors for not being closer to their Characters Ethnicity and Orientation begins as a call for more Inclusion however ends as a fiasco where Studios won't hire any Actors at all for fear of Criticism and will opt to put AI representations written by AI as well which saves them Money and puts the Human element of the Entertainment Industry completely out of the equation.
Love love love Rupert Everett. A man who exudes class and style.

Rupert Everett. What a guy!. Great to see him looking good and as usual talking sense.
Really 😅
The guy looks like he got hit with the Old Stick a few times. I almost didn't recognize him, Lol.
I'm Welsh and i think if an English person wants to play a welsh person its fine. As long as they get the accent right.
Yes me too I’m welsh
@CJ-ft9yo I've seen a few people play Welsh characters and been impressed
I'm a brummie and hated the first series of peaky blinders because of the terrible Birmingham accents, but then I git over myself and enjoyed it
Please don’t die Rupert, your writing is enchanting.
Fantastic - "I come from a survivor generation, not a victim generation." - LOVE IT - I thought he aged or I had - its make up! LOL Loved him in "An Ideal Husband" and his Oscar Wilde portrayal is BRILLIANT. A fan from CA USA xx Thank you Piers love your show!
He has aged but certainly in a fine way.
He is a very charming man too, which just adds to his appeal.
I agree with him. But beyond the example of Matt Damon playing Liberace, there are indeed others: I think Neal Patrick Harris and Luke Evans have done quite well for themselves playing straight men, and those are just the two that come to mind within 20 seconds
What a fantastic man and a brilliant interview. Thank you Rupert for being so sincere and honest with your conversation and thank you Piers for letting the man speak. You're quite good at this sometimes. 💗
Every time I see Rupert, I love him even more. Love and agree with everything he said!!
What a legend I love his honesty about life 🙏❤️
“He can swap heroin for bird food in a flash of the eye”, what a perfect description of Brand 😁
What a joy to see/ hear Rupert E again. Such a talented eloquent man. A force for the good and righteous though I don’t agree about RB talking nonsense. He is exposing all the ways we’re being duped & lied to by entities we supposedly elect. His musings on death were inspiring and beautiful…
Marvellous interview, one of the few YT videos that I wished could go on for longer rather than itching for the skip button. Safeway made me smile too.
I love this entire interview. Thank you
I have no voice, you do. I found a book that was written by one of Russell's exes. She devotes a full chapter to her relationship with him. One thing that stood out to me - she said he told her she had problems...it was to do with her eating. She said that she knew she did not have an eating problem. So Russell comes across as body shaming and controlling. Yet...two years later she was on a tv show called Rehab, she was seeking treatment for Bulimia! She said she had it since she was 17....when she dated Russell - he was 28 and she was 20.
Quoting the Magna Carta was perfect.
Bradley Cooper isn’t a raccoon so why did he get to play rocket in guardians of the galaxy? That’s discriminating against real raccoons
Now that you mention it I think I did see a picture online of several raccoons in the SAG picket line
What an absolutely wonderful interview! I agreed w/ Rupert's opinions about everything (not that that's what made it an absolutely wonderful interview). His make-up and two wigs is quite transformative. I would love to see the play, but alas, I'm in Toronto. 🙂
Just look at how this man carries himself in front the camera. From his appearance to the way he speaks , he just oozes class.
A thoroughly enjoyable interview
Yes!
Blessed are you Rupert...at very least today... what a terrific interview

If the title did not say Rupert Everett, i would not have known that it was him. I had no idea that he is a golden oldie now. I just always picture the “my best friend’s wedding” version of him when i think about him. 😜 But his voice is exactly the same. Good to see he is not part of the woke brigade.

He has gotten older ( as we all have) but I think he is in make up and costume for a role here
Rupert was a first crush for me while I was grappling with finding out I was gay , he is always full of sense , btw Mr Morgan , whilst I don’t agree with your politics I do agree that we need to hear both sides.. good for you for presenting BOTH SIDES
