I answer viewer questions about myself, the hobby, and being a CZcams creator.

No question, just thanks for kicking off and inspiring so many. I'm sure I'm not the only one who saw a thumbnail, got hooked, and have since really enjoyed this side of RPG playing.
Same saw a vid got hooked, brought a proxxon and never looked back 😆
So funny to me when CZcamsrs knock the q&a videos as being lazy. I find them so interesting and entertaining. Idols of Torment looks so rad.
No doubt. I wonder if they could meet a person and still ridicule their process, especially when the process is obviously working!
Content creators like you a very important and I am so grateful for helping me and my son build cool stuff for our games. Much appreciated!
I love little vids like this. The crafting is what brought me here, but the real life is what keeps me watching. it's nice knowing the dude at the other end is a real life human. Hope you have an awesome holiday season and i'm already looking forward to your vids in the new year!
Thank you for talking about your mental health!
Hey BMC I just wanted to say thank you so much for your channel you were one of the reasons I got into terrain building and DND!
I have carpal tunnel and for some reason working on minis and terrain has really helped!
I too have hand tremors which started as I was getting into my mid teens.
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the courage to re-enter the miniature painting hobby after a 20+ year of active avoidance and telling myself I just wasn't capable!
The reality of it was probably so insignificant that if I ignored it and continued to paint I would have very quickly overcome the issue, but you know what other kids are like "what's wrong with your hands? they are like my grand dads" etc. which made it seem a lot worse than it was.
At the time as a kid within a year or so I had gone from having minis displayed in my local GW to being nearly unable to block out main colours with accuracy (or so it seemed). This just totally destroyed my ability and confidence to continue. Really put me on a downer and ended up giving all my minis away to the local GW players and just gave up completely.
Thankfully the tremors haven't progressed significantly over the years and seems to be no worse yours. (I turned 42 this year)
Oh that is also so weird, I also wanted go into graphic design when I was in school but again went a different route as I felt unable too as a result, back then it was all pencil and paper work couldn't pull out the old graphics tablet and mash away on the computer. (A mouse was the pinnacle of technology with the good'ol Acorn Archimedes) LMFAO, ahh a simpler time!
Glad you are doing well man. I have to admit; I am not a flat-lander. Moved to Deadmonton six years ago. Just...missed mountains, trees, and the ocean. Moved back to Vancouver Island. Like, I think I legitimately had an anxiety attack last year, and had to drive to the mountains, at like 3 pm on a sunday. Now doing something I never imagined I would be doing: airbrushing fishing lures. Eventually I will get a craft space going again, got some ideas crawling in the recesses of my mind.
Take care, and have a merry christmas!
Happy to hear that you're taking care of yourself and balancing career and family. Thanks for another great year.
Man, I get that this is a “lazy” video, but I really appreciate you sharing about your process, life and struggles. It helps a lot. I wish you continued success.
I have been watching you for years and I have finally got into the hobby of crafting terrain and such. I was reluctant due to having tremors, but tbh its been nice seeing someone that also has it, and still able to make crazy stuff. so its been helping me to get over that panic of starting the hobby due to it. So, just want to say Thanks.
You've had an incredible year. Lots of new ideas, and lots of great experiments in terrain. It's a ton of work to make the stuff, let alone capture it in video and publish it for us. I so appreciate your weekly vids, of all kinds. Thank you, merry Christmas, and enjoy your rest!
Thanks for a great year of content! Looking forward to what you bring us next year!
Hiya Jeremy, I hope you and your familly are doing well. No specific question or anything, just wanted to wish you à very cosy, happy and fun holliday season and all the best for the coming year
Ps if you would like to check out some different music you could listent to some thylacine, especially his "Roads: vol 1" Album, I think you might enjoy it.
I also have the aquascaping hobby, nice looking striped Raphael you had. We have one too, whose 23 years old, so you'll have yours for a while
Keep rockin' it Jeremy, you are awesome. You got me started back in the early days of your channel and my builds just keep getting better and making my and my D&D group excited. Put your family and health first. And your channel will be better for it as a result. You make the world a much better place!
As I sit here building a whole ruined city for an upcoming dnd game I look to my right and see a much loved and arguably over used set of dungeon tiles cut with a bad hobby knife and painted a charmingly generic grey.
Its where I started out and every step of my modelling journey since has been thanks to those tiles and the friendly Canadian guy who explained how to make them on CZcams.
Hoping you are doing better with your back. Glad you are able to do this as a job and enjoy what you're doing.
if this video was taking a break for you, please take more breaks like this. I love this kind of content.
Agree. Frankly this is an asmr channel for me.
Really nice to see that you give yourself the permission to go these kind of "lazy" videos. Incidently such a video done inentionally will also be better content than a different video draged accross the finish line through some burnout. As someone who knows a few of your struggles myself I just wanted to give a shout out to you setting a good example in self care :)
No question. Just a big thank for making your videos and including us along the way on your journey. Thoroughly enjoy and look forward to them.
Thanks again.
A really nice video. It´s letting relax myself. Nice ambiente with the backround and lights. Have some nice holidays.
If you ever feel lazy again, make another video with some of the other questions. We'll happily sit here casually and listen to you talk
Root Beer!! Yes!! I knew we had more in common. Great video, always nice to learn more about one of my favorite CZcamsrs. The aquarium hobby is pretty amazing, very relaxing. Have a great holiday.
I just wanna say thank you for inspiring many! I got my first dnd model because of you, that model being a shipwreck reverent :) your always keeping me inspired and eager to try more!
I love all you videos, even your "lazy" ones!
If you feel burnout, I agree with other commenters: Q&As episodes will always be something I enjoy seeing. I'd also love to see you talk about materials you use more in depth, and more of the testing craft products videos. Seeing you use the pastels and oils and discovering new materials are some of my personal favorites.
There are a very few channels on here that I know that, whatever pops up from them, I'm going to watch it and feel a little happier and better about life. It's not just the content it's the people behind the content too. BMC is absolutely one of those channels. Thank you for that. Also, thanks for the Bob Vylan recommendation, just my kind of thing.
Just wanted to echo what so many here have already said. Huge thanks for what you do. Just got into dnd this year, started running a home brewed campaign, and your channel has been a massive inspiration on that front.
The group of friends I play with were blown away when I brought out the first pieces of xps scatter terrain, and a lot of that comes down to you and your videos.
Keep up the awesome work man!!! I'll keep watching from out here in BC
Love you mate, very happy with the kickstarter - have a great Christmas
It's great to see and hear from you that you are doing well. All I can say is thanks for the videos and a happy new year!
I always love these type of videos from creators. Gives us viewers an inside look at who you truly are. I love your content and have been an avid follower for a few years. Thank you so much for all you do!
Merry Christmas to you. Thanks for all the videos over the last couple years!
I love the honesty and insight. You got me into crafting and your content continues to inspire me. Forever grateful!
The memento tattoo of your friend is such a nice thing. I love when tattoos have meaning like that. Thanks so much for all the great videos and inspirations and I hope that you and your family have happy holidays and a great new year!
I remember the first video I saw Black Magic Craft was you drinking beer and crafting. Never crossed my mind that I would be creating content. You helped me a great deal in my journey and recovery from a devastating car accident.
Thank you JEremy
Dude.. just checked in with you and the channel for the first time in a while.. congrats on the success, and growth! tremendous stuff.
Be good TO yourself so you can be good FOR others. Your inspirational work is good for people.
Relevant and supportive comment.
So cozy and what a lovely chat! Love these kinds of videos - thanks for what you do man, keep crushin' it!
This was a nice and honoust sitdown. Great to get a glimpse of your life beyond CZcams. Have a great holiday season!
I really enjoyed your water pistol Warhammer build challenge, would love to see more sci-fi based builds in the future...stay safe my fellow Canadian!
Thank you. I did find it entertaining, but also helpful.
I started into crafting when I stumbled upon your videos. I've since made it a little side business, and I'm enjoying it. It has been reassuring to hear that you deal with a lot of the same things I have (and one of the questions you answered was one I had asked - though I was doubtless not alone asking it).
It's great to hear from the other ends of this, and I really wouldn't mind if you did more of them. It's not something we hear to much about.
Great stuff, sir. Keep on inspiring!
What a warm and honest Q&A. Good stuff, do more of these
Thanks for the video, love the channel and glad you are doing well
props on follow through with kickstarter
Looking forward to gardening videos
It’s been SO LONG since you did a Q&A! Enjoyed the video immensely! It was you and Mike at his Terranscapes channel that got me into crafting terrain. I’ll be eternally grateful to him and to you! Glad things are going well. I appreciate you, Jeremy!
I miss Mike’s videos.
@@BlackMagicCraftOfficial Me too! I hope that he’s doing well. His projects and techniques were WAY over my head when I first found his videos, but I appreciated the way he approached his builds from a problem solving perspective and how he was willing to experiment to find a solution. Because I watched Mike’s stuff, the algorithm eventually recommended your channel. You approached things in a similar way and showed that there WERE projects I could tackle with a few supplies, the right attitude, and a little patience (individual foam bricks, anyone?!). I’ve been having crafting fun ever since. Thanks so much! Best wishes to you and your family.
Thanks for this AMA, always great to spend some time chatting like this :) Congrats on the game!
This was a fun change of pace man, even though I've known you for years it's always fun to watch these. Bucky O'Hare! haha totally forgot about that.
Just dropping in to say stay up man!
Take your time Man, you have achieved so much last year and Burnout is a thing, we will still be around when you get better, don't worry
I've said it before, but I say it again - your build-videos are such an inspiration. I would never have bought a Proxxon, if it wasn't for your enthusiasm and videos that shows how easy it is to build things. Great work!
Dude the aquarium thing is such a rabbit hole. When I lived in Japan I got OBSESSED with aquariums and live plants/fish. I had to translate everything so it was kinda more fun too. I loved planting and watching my cute shrimp and tetras swimming around. I got up to like 4 tanks before we moved. I want another one now so bad.
Great relaxed video to end a crazy year. Hope you have a good holiday break and here's to a good new year mate. 🍺 cheers
Just going to add that I really enjoyed the recent Ornaments video!
No questions just want to say thank you for all the inspiration you have given me over past couple years since I started painting and building things
I love the channel; really inspiring content. Thanks for putting it and yourself out there.
Oh hey, not sure if I already said this Jeremy, but my 10yr old loves the Idols of Torment printed mat so much that we’ve been using it for our Warhammer games. Just wanted to let you know how much we both enjoy how that turned out!
I like Suicide Commando too 👍
You’re one of my favorite YT creators!
Love to learn about my favorite creators! Awesome vid this week.
Thank you for a great video.
Thanks for your openness about the challenges of being an online creator.
As someone about to make xmas ornaments with my kids I enjoyed the snowman vid very much!
Please do more of these videos.
I LOVE BOB VYLAN! made me so happy to hear you talk about him. this type of video was unexpected from you but i really liked it! feel free to do more stuff like this in the future
Very cool , nice to see a different side of you.
Awesome video thanks for posting this man long time viewer ❤🙏 keep it up!
Your comments about Canadian health insurance vs American "health insurance" is so straight forward and accurate. This should be noncontroversial.
Facts is facts
Not accurate at all actually. The United States government spends trillions a dollars a year to provide healthcare to those that can't afford it. Per person, it's about the same as Canada.
I have been an adult in the US for 20 years; I have been in practically every income bracket; and I have never had any issues receiving healthcare. I also have a son with type 1 diabetes so he requires a lot of healthcare.
I think those comments are largely misinformed.
@@joetripp7291 how many Americans have been medically bankrupt vs Canadians?
I don't know. How many Canadians have died waiting for medical care vs Americans? No system is perfect, but my point was that American healthcare is already hugely socialized. Poor people & lower middle class people can get free state health insurance. @@BlackMagicCraftOfficial
Thank you for the Chat, your Idols Scenery is Awesome.
I love the Bridge build.
Am hoping to get the Rulebook for Christmas as a treat for myself 😂
9:58 "Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working." - Pablo Picasso
Question at 5:50, that person is totally a fan of the Painting Phase . . . Absolutely loving the 'back to basics' videos of late. And, OMG, more videos on using that double-sided craft tape for building - that stuff is amazing (especially with hot glue or PVA reinforcement after)
Cats are idel!!!!
Thank you for this honest open video.
Big moral support from me to you with all problems & stress, you talked (and actally did not talked)
Dude I love Bob Vylan, and I really wasn't expected to hear them represented here 😅 great to see my favourite hobby youtuber has good music taste as well 😉
Thank you for your honesty and to hear that your live is staing on track. You motivate, help and teach allot of people but your owne health alwsys cimes first. Please keep on doiing what you do so good and thank you for your wonderfull videos, creations and inspiration. Hsppy hollydays to you and your family + cats, lol.
Interesting and infromative, Jeremy. Keep on, keeping on, my friend. 🥤
Aquascape....we used to have several 50-75 gallon tanks. But when we learned that our twins were going to be medically fragile for a while we sold it off to free up time to care for kids.
I still miss the fish, but love my kids more!
Appreciate these kinds of videos bud. Especially when it’s from someone I’m not super familiar with.
Great video thank you
Дякую за відео!
Yes, it was fun, lots to be proud of. :)
The overlap between miniature painting and aquariums is surprisingly high I’ve learned.
Great video, Jeremy. Good to get to know you more. -Rick, USMC
Idols of Torment looks awesome, and I'd love to get my hands on a starter box! Otherwise I'll have to look into 3D printers...
Okay. Pepsi is the better stand-alone beverage, Coke is the superior mixer; Vanilla Coke and Kraken rum is delicious!
IBC rootbeer is top-tier.
Hard agree.
O! With the cheese idea, perhaps a structure for eating, like a center pierce, your art in food @ crafting dungeons.
I like them fish and them cats and them aquarium plants!
Damn dude I am glad you exist
Aquascaping, nice! That's an awesome casual hobby. I've been into that for about a decade :p
Part of the skills I’ve learned in creating terrain or builds has made me wonder if there is a way to create water-safe builds! I haven’t found anything that I would trust as a secure coating or materials. If you know of any resources or channels that look at that. :)
@@AVspectre I can't say I've ever tried to build submersible terrain. I just stick to rocks, driftwood and plants.
I agree. When it comes to artest block , "the longest journey starts with a single step." This is a problem for me also. Have you ever thought of coming to Adepticon? I would love to see you and your game there. As always, thanks for content.
What is your white whale of crafting that you would love to tackle if you had the time and resources?
Examples: Imperator titan, imperial palace, minas tirith, ect.
Hello Jeremy from Scandinavia! Thanks for all the hard work! I was wondering how do feel about suggestions from the viewers? Do you enjoy getting them and often take inspirations from comments and such or is it mainly your own thoughts and builds you'd like to make? I was walking past some gold flakes for cake decorations today and I thought that would maybe make a cool stream of gold in a dwarven mine. I myself have the talent of a fish building stuff, but could be fun to see!
"I don't really like livestream D&D games, I think it's weird..."
THANK YOU!
It really does seem weird watching other people play D&D. I tried watching a couple of different groups and I just couldn't watch it. It was too weird.
One group I played with when I was MUCH younger had a running joke about archways. Someone always had to bring up cookies any time there was an archway. Yes, it was stupid. But we all laughed. To anyone else it's just stupid and not even funny.
Then again I'd much rather play a game of football than watch other people play. That's always seemed weird to me, too. Sure, they're amazing athletes. Great. I'd rather play the game and suck at it than watch.
Love to see someone else from the miniatures hobby also catch the aquascaping bug :)
Bucky O'Hare! Good lord, thought I was the only person to remember that cartoon
Hi. Im an introvert too (this commentary is my way of communicating to the world) and I love spending my time at home (flexibility is great), but I'm not that good in monetizing my hobbies (I wrote some RPG materials for DTRPG) - the thing is I really understand your "meeting people all the time is not that great" attitude. I love the "Ultimate Machine" tattoo story - I don't have any tattoos, but I think that is great, that you carry this one for both of you. I disagree with the Cola/Pepsi thing. I can't drink Coca-cola, because of diabetes, but I liked it, and we had a special meetings just to drink a little bottle of Coca-Cola every Thursday for years (a long time ago), and Pepsi... I did not drink Pepsi for more than 30 years. And it is good to heat, that you're more relaxed and the tremors are not that much of an issue now. I'm fighting the "burnout" (more like trying to do some miniatures work) all the time - if I start, there is no problem in continuing, but "the starting" is difficult. It was good to hear from you. Cheers!
I like these Q&As it’s nice to get to know you a little and it’s also inspiring. I do have a question, I’m a bit older than you and a creative ex-costume and props now teacher. Knowing what you know now, would you recommend starting CZcams channel? I’ve been thinking about it for years.
Thanks so much for sharing your creativity, craft, and humanity!
I think we should normalize anyone with a Patreon taking December off, or at least doing easier things. The pace of creative output is so intense that the creatives deserve a rest and the audience deserves a chance to catch up.
If you visit the midwest US check out the root beer at Culver's
Thanks for all your videos! We are beginners and the track is large. We want to test the track to see if we wired a section correctly. It is dcc. Can I just put a 8 volt battery on the track and see if the train runs? We are new at soldering too. 75 years old and have lots to learn! Skip
