So true! I got to meet her up close and personal and was in awe of her flawless complexion and it was not just make up! Truly a beautiful person inside and out!
What a gem to discover like the glow that comes off polished silver. Thank you for the warmth and tenderness that beautifully emerged from this outstanding series hosted by Bert Reynolds
Thank you for sharing. I'm a big Dolly fan. A very interesting and telling show. This is about the time she was breaking off the working relationship with Porter. You can sort of see his controlling looks he gives Dolly. And you could see in Dolly's eyes, that she was ready to break away, and was destined for superstardom. She knew it. She's known it all along
Great observation! Another observation: Have you seen the looks Dolly and Burt exchanged with each other? I really believe that they were in love. They shared misery (either their own) while they shot Best Little 'Chicken' House in Texas! Which might have fan the flame.. This clip, years later, is also very flirtatious czcams.com/video/sov7TW3yIq4/video.html I really see the fire sparks! If they ever had an affair is none of my business and Dolly is a flirt. Love her so much
Watched the entire thing and enjoyed it thoroughly. Matter of fact, I have to say that this is THE best thing I've watched all year! Thank you for posting this...I'm sure it has brought a LOT of joy to many people. So very nice seeing all the faces of those precious people mama & papa listened to my entire childhood. Out of all these wonderful people, I'm guessing that Dolly and Bobby are the only ones that are still with us. 💜💜🎶💜💜
I always love to hear Dolly's songs especially the first letter she sent back home when she moved to Nashville those are great memories of all those singers there brings back lots thoughts of those who are not here they will always be remembered and the songs they sang thanks for the memories
I believe you’re referring to the song that Bobby Goldsboro sings. He, Dolly Parton, and my parents are the last surviving members of this show as far as I know. not sure if Rusty Richards is still around.
@@gaylehurley8510 Thank you. I've discovered that Goldsboro sang his 1973 song 'Childhood - 1949', which I find beautiful, reminiscent of John Denver. Who are your parents?
You should really watch the whole special. I think there are seven segments that I posted. My parents were the host and hostess that evening, Governor Winfield and Betty Dunn of Tennessee. It was a magical time in our lives.😊
@@gaylehurley8510 I eventually did see the whole special, which was wonderful, and did see your parents host this big country get together in their home, with your father singing along with Glenn Campbell. What a great memory of your parents this special must be for you. 💖
@@gaylehurley8510 thank you for sharing these videos. Love seeing your parents - your mom looked beautiful and your dad was adorable singing Lovesick Blues.
My Dad Rusty Richards (sons of pioneers tenor singer 21 years) anyway Dad has has a song he sings on this original NBC special ( a hour 1/2 long and 1/2 hour has been cut from videos????
Hi Jason, I am thrilled to hear from you and to know a bit more about your dad. I’m not sure why I did not include his song in this collection of clips. I promise it must’ve been an oversight. I am very much an amateur and will dig around and see if I can find my original copy of the special and post it. Keep reminding me! In the meantime, I would love love to know more about your dad. My understanding as a 17-year-old girl at the time was that he might have been Burt’s assistant with his horses and stables. Maybe not true at all! So happy you reached out.
I think if you turn on the auto generated captions, you'd probably get way more views, since I would venture to guess that thousands or millions of people my age (59) and up are the most interested in videos like this, and most of us have profound hearing loss, or worse. Captions are the ONLY way I can enjoy these types of videos. The algorithm doesn't care about likes or comments, just the views. Sadly, since no captions are available, I will not continue to view this. Bye!
@@gayledunnhurley3803 Thanks, but don't use the ones that just say English since they screw up alot. The auto generated captions are the way to go. I know that I for one, would really appreciate it. 😊Thanks in advance
Dolly is mesmerizing 🥰
How gorgeous is she
Dolly was so gorgeous!

She still is BEAUTIFUL!!!
Exactly!! She didnt have to go get all that botox and end up looking stiff and dead.

Look at Burt running his game on young Dolly!
She is God’s favorite.
Burt’s thinking, Dang!, she sure is pretty 🥰
Dolly is such a brilliant talent. Most of the people in that TV show are long gone but Dolly endures.
A beautiful Barbie doll ❤
Nice and white, the way country folk like it!
Dolly and Burt,,..Dolly said she had the best time filming with Burt in many of those "close together" scenes,,,yes we understand...lucky Burt,,,,
When Dolly speaks or sings my Alabama heart tears up. Burt clearly had so much joy being in their presence, it's so contagious.
Priceless ...What talent there was in that room. This could have been many hours longer and I'd still want to see more...
What a gem to discover like the glow that comes off polished silver. Thank you for the warmth and tenderness that beautifully emerged from this outstanding series hosted by Bert Reynolds
Great stuff!! It drives me crazy when an artist ( Dolly Parton ) is playing great guitar and the camera is focused only on her face.

Roger Miller had a beautiful voice. They are silently listen to each other.
I can see the way Dolly & Burt were looking at one another. It was electric.

Yes, Dolly, Bobby, and my parents are still with us! Don’t know what happened to Rusty Richards who was a friend of Burt.
@@gayledunnhurley3803 Your parents were in the clip?

Hello Karen, how are you doing?
This was a Great Show, always thought Burt Reynolds should've started a talk show after his acting career slowed down, he'd been Great!
Such Awesome memories thank u GodBless ❤️🙏
Roger Miller had a great wit!
Miss Dolly America
Who would think one would die broke, and the other would accumulate over half a billion dollars
They should of married!
Love how they were all laughing until she started playing and singing shut them right down !
Just watching and living in my wife's movie... King David Windsor Rittenhouse Xii
I'd like to know what that last song was and who sang it so beautifully. Pure country poetry.
