In today’s episode of Figuring Out, we have Deepak Sharma in conversation with Raj Shamani.
He is a jailor ASP at Tihar Jail. Apart from being a jailor, he is a fitness enthusiast and bodybuilder, and a content creator who creates content on Instagram and CZcams.
In this episode, we talked about Tihar Jail, what is the routine of prisoners there and how top criminals are treated. We then talked about which states have major problems when it comes to its people following the law and do prisoners get to watch TV inside the jail. We also discussed the Tillu Tajpuriya murder case and what was the backstory. Apart from this we also discussed cases like Chhota Rajan and Sukesh. He also shared his whole role and experience in Nirbhaya’s case for the execution of the defendants.
Towards the end, we talked about which states have which types of crimes more and which states have low crime rates. We discussed about Sanjay Dutt’s case and why he was left on bail often. He also shared the difference between jailor then and now and how things have changed over the years. In the end, he shared how much jailors make, what perks and rewards they get, and so on. Raj Shamani should start having more eye contact with the person he is having conversation with after asking the question rather than looking at the sheet on the table for the next question that needs to be asked. I normally don't like to watch such police personel interviews but this office is straight forward and does NOT live in denial. To each problem in jail he has agreed and wants things to improve. All other previous officers have lived in denial Nahi Ji hamare yaha Aisa nahi hota types.... But this man has courage to accept haa luxury things aati hai jail may, drugs aati hai jail may and gangs bhi chalte hai jail se..... Maza aa gaya.... Isko bolte dhamakedaar interview.....

This was one good episode. Never imagined podcast with Tihar jailer. Nervous/pressure etc. but Deepak was able to speak some facts and put forth his opinions. This was commendable. Clearly lot needs to be done for jails and rigor but then we have these officers.

Informative interview.....Being the custodian of such a high profile prison....If breaches like this happen who is to be blamed......Guards on duty if they help criminals and Officers in charge inspite of everything in place do not get to know serious retroinspection is needed....

First time im seems one of the interview of a jailer. I was impressed he did not take a nano second to answer when asked is the jail over crowded. personal observation truthful. 2. Cops dont have any problems with bribe

4. If inspector is criminal then case is trying to close in some village areas
5. Cops don't take action on political leader coz of fear of losing job
