  • Former Conservative Foreign Office minister Sir Alan Duncan is under Sir Alan Duncan is under investigation by his party after criticising his Tory colleagues for their support of Israel. He believes arms sales to Israel should stop 'immediately', as it is 'morally unacceptable' to support 'what is becoming a total catastrophe in Gaza'.
After seven aid workers from World Central Kitchen - including three Brits - were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza, Sir Alan Duncan questioned how it was possible for 'extremists in our own parliamentary politics' to remain in power while supporting Israel.
He said 'the time has come' for them to be 'flushed out'. On Tom Tugendhat, he added: 'How can you have a security minister who does not believe in international law? He should be sacked.'
John Percy, the vice-chair of the Conservative Friends of Israel, a group that Sir Alan Duncan also criticised, said: "Alan Duncan is a ridiculous character and accusing a Jewish parliamentarian of working for Israel at a time of record levels of antisemitism not only puts that individual in danger but also risks fuelling Jew hate here in the UK. It is a reckless, ignorant and dangerous comment.

100% agreed. I'm very anti-Tory, but the truth is, if *even* Tories are saying this, it adds even more credibility to the argument that Israel has gone way too far. Much harder for Israel to dismiss habitual allies (although, they'll try). Thank you Sir Alan Duncan.
