#podcast #mixing #mastering - Jak na to + styl
This podcast is honestly really wholesome. Just 3 close friends nerding out about audio ish. I love it frfr...
FL is stepping up their game. And I will say, Studio One is the Pro-tools killer
i been on pro tools and i’m getting into studio one rn only thing i wish is that it had the pro tools shortcuts but i think i can change that
Yeah. You can literally change your shortcuts to pro tools shortcuts @@omtfiji
@@omtfiji yup, very easily
@@omtfijiyes sir, they're in the settings
@omtfiji8738 you can actually setup pro tools shortcuts in Studio One
Studio One all day. Been locked in since 2009
I'm a logic pro user and I'm trying studio one 6. 😊 So far I can say that it's easy to mix in studio one versus cooking up..
Studio one side chain simplicity
Studio One is best for recording yourself and the comping is elite and you can undo pretty much anything
S1-Gang Waddup
It’s crazy how people glance over studio one. It’s one of the most feature rich Daws, and by far the easiest to use.
I mean, Nuendo still is a thing. I think it is inarguably the most feature rich DAW to have ever existed. But it might not be very easy to use (perhaps). I like Studio One too
Studio One is so underrated! I have seen so many features being introduced as new in other DAW’s that Studio One has had for the longest
big facts@@aonethomas1584
@@patrick5301 so did you acutually pay for that or get it for free cause nobody is paying that price thats why studio one is key lol havent heard nuendo in years lol
i bet watching this channel is a music companies pleasure lol. Yall are super market friendly bc you are biased but unbiased too lol bc all 3 of y'all represent different daws but as with DAWS you still appreciate all the other daws and notice things that other daws and music companies do right even in terms of products and services. You guys motivate music companies to do better and to be more innovative, which is great for the music community. This shh is church and school, everyone can amen wtf is said on this channel no matter what daw they use. Great content!!!
Please send me your IG handle so we can give you the VIP gold edition EQ
with all of FL 21 updates and new features for recording vocals, mixing and mastering its so easy. #TeamFL
S/o to y'all for continuing this podcast every week. That is incredibly hard to do. Keep up the good work.
thank you for noticing! its not easy!
Studio One. 💯
#Keepgoing I love the play running, and not gatekeeping.. I'm knocking down gates around me in my city, Dallas. Keep it coming. Ya'll helping us a lot!
20:22 this right here
I’ve always wondered this but when
I would sidechain my vocals with trackspacer it would be a mono signal going in the plugin itself would duck mid side mode I love that feature honestly
Reaper has been my go to for years after starting out in Sony Acid. I’ve tried others but nothing can compare to the workflow I have in Reaper.
FL studio has that plug-in already in the fruity convolver you can make your reverb sound like different rooms or places from a garage, auditorium, church, cgraveyard and even a toilet bowl,
Ayy I've been struggling with my sleep schedule for forever now and I've finally woken up before the podcast comes out
You guys should do a podcast going over some highlights/pros of your DAW
Presonus Studio One.
He said " There's no need for that " 😂😂😂
Studio One has endless possibilities
Studio one is the fastest 🔥🔥
I cant wait till they get someone on the show to rep Studio One. 💪
I went from Logic to FL in 2013 and never looked back. Somehow typing that just made me realize I have been an FL user for 10 years. Don't have any reason to change, I'd like to know what Devvon's gripes with the routing is.
I love all of them honestly studio one is so cool im a daily ableton user
Well Done for coming back Courtney 👏🏾
Studio One is the best for recording imo… I use FL Studio for everything else tho.
I have bare latency when monitoring while recording in Studio One. Any tips?
I make a mono bus in Pro Tools to be able to sidechain a stereo signal. When you're choosing your key input in your compressor you just choose that bus and it will duck the whole stereo track, I mainly use it for delay on vocals sometimes if I want it extra loud but not playing over the vocal itself
I knew he was bugging thank you!
I gotta give Devvon his Flowers frfr for a few reasonable reasons. 1) Devvon rise in this music industry starting from finessing covers with his own way of making it. 2) I dont know you personally Devvon, but i get the impression that you go out your way behind the scenes to put things together 3)You didn't have to, but you really showed us your version of mixing in tutorials 4)You Made a podcast & pulled attraction like crazy you don't understand. My friends make music as an artist & they like your content is insane to me b/c till this day they don't know that i see that they liked your IG reels & its more then 1 content. 5) You hold us down and have our best interest to tell us and not be stingy with the secrets in mixing you allow us to get some game in this too. 6) We both New York Folks what we do isnt acknowledge/recognized/Respected to the degree that in my opinion i feel it should its more of a "let the best man win" instead of "let us win" kinda mindset. Thankyou for doing you & Your welcome for da support. LJ & Courtney i gave them their flowers already in different episodes.
wow thank you so much this made my day. Whats your IG @ i wanna give you the gold edition rosetta VIP
@@HelpMeDevvonI’ll take a copy if he doesn’t want it lol. Love you guys. Been a fan since Coast 2 Coast
FL has the elastic audio in numerous ways. You can do directly on the sound, in Edison and newtone
DEVVON GOATED WITH THIS ISHHH 💯
love this channel and I want this plugin!
This podcast is a blessing
This is lit 🔥
Studio One the GOAT!
FACTS
Recording, mixing and mastering is so good in Studio one
studio one
i can't stress myself enough telling people how wholesome ableton is
I love logic . but i have a new love for pro tools
I guess no one knows and I’ve been waiting for folks to bring it up but the ARA was designed/developed with celemony in partnership with presonus which is why the integration is just natural.
I love tracking in FL. It’s so hard for me to track in protools
As far as editing Vocals goes. FLis like microwaving a meal vs Pro-Tools is being able to prepare your fresh food and cook on the stove. I use Pro-Tools and FL. Ableton sometimes as well
Logic literally saves me a ton of time and works very well with Mac . I love protools because it’s a easy setup. I need that plug-in tho.
Tbh… this pod brings me peace🎶
This is the podcast that speaks to My Audio nerd heart!
I use all DAWs but keep on going back on Studio One 🔥
💯
STUDIO ONE
Fire 🔥 episode ☮️✊🏾
You can sidechain stereo tracks. The trigger is just mono. If it was a true stereo signal to trigger the trigger signal to the sidechain would be a slightly different to very different from the left and right and would make the trigger to the sidechain less accurate. A mono signal makes for more accurate triggering but you can sidechain stero track no problem in pro tools.
Love this podcast sm.
@helpmedevon You GOTTA do some Elastic Audio tutorials now and go deep on em in Pro Tools
Devvon what year did you go to full sail. I’m pretty sure I met u there when we we both touring the school the year before we were planning on going.
Love this podcast
The hosts of the Audio Nerds podcast delve into various topics revolving around audio engineering, plugins, and their experiences with different audio processing tools. They express their enthusiasm for some newly discovered features and plugins, and share their insights on the potential of AI in audio processing, especially mentioning a creative idea of a generative reverb plugin termed as "G-verb." They also touch on the performance of certain AI mastering tools, comparing them and appreciating the advances in some, specifically mentioning the mastering capabilities of FL Studio, and the user-centric approach of its developers. They also share some frustrations with certain functionalities in Pro Tools, especially regarding side-chaining stereo signals, highlighting the need for a simpler workflow in certain aspects of audio engineering. I am highly invested in studio one but I need to make my workflow faster.
This whole comment is written by ChatGPT up until the very last sentence 😂
Wow yo! u a real one
The Rosetta Stone is a large stone tablet (ca. 196 BCE) that was discovered in Egypt in 1799. It is important because it allowed researchers to translate ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic writing for the first time. Much like the Rosetta EQ helps new audio nerds up their game, translating the frequency spectrum into words that convey feeling and emotion.
Oh you want the VIP gold edition my friend?? lol
I need an AutoTune Vocal Gate and I never knew until now. Thanks L. jean.
“Cuz you know who did? An actual Mastering engineer!!” I almost died listening to that 😂😂😂😂🤘🏾
Somehow no one ever mentions FL Newtime & Patcher... you can literally have sends, returns, sidechaining, parallel chains, etc etc inside one patcher instance. then just save it as a preset. all in one effect slot. highly recommend trying. idk which version of FL Devv used but routing is super easy in FL now, legit drag and drop, done. lol
Reason Studio is my go to for recording and production
Studio one!!!
I use FL and Maschine for production for da most part but I always go into Pro Tools for tracking, mixing, and mastering. Pro Tools is def the easiest for me to operate. the routing is simple and the stock plugins are great. i’ve been around da block too fasho. i’ve used Pro Tools, FL, Reason, Ableton, Studio One, Maschine, & Logic. I’m forever Pro Tools when it comes to engineering doe
The Horse for the DAW is dope lol please make this episode
Use TB Kirchhoff-EQ to sidechain in stereo 🔥
Ive used Studio One since V2...we are on V6 now? Insane
logic is great for tuning I think it's the best but in terms of DAWs, it's up to how well the user understands the DAW. DAWs that allow you to use input FX are best for recording
Every daw allows you to use input fx for recording
Trackspacer does the stereo sidechain, it works!!
1 - Luna (2nd Logic) for macOS
1 - Reaper (2nd StudioOne) for Windows
i use both FL for beats and Pro tools for vocals.
Everytime i see a PT tutorial, i think how lucky i am that S1 does that better
Fl just need that tuner and compressor update and we good✨
Once you learn one DAW that works in a linear fashion, the learning curve for most others will be minimal. I've used PT, Logic, Cubase, Reaper, and even Cool Edit Pro (I'm dating myself) and aside from Reaper, the workflow is fairly similar from one DAW to the next. FL is definitely towards the bottom as far as linear workflow, but the way those folks at ImageLine keep adding new features, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't find a way to implement a workflow that is more similar to PT, Logic, etc. and really just kill the game. But to recording, I prefer Logic.
I started out with FL this year because of the piano roll (shoutout 4download lol) but as I've been adding more elements into songs, it's been getting really annoying honestly. I don't know what I'll switch to yet but I wanna buy something
I feel like FL will never switch their workflow because it’s too unique. I am a FL user and I love it, but I tried other DAW in the past just for fun, but gave up immediately because literally EVERYTHING on FL is different it’s hard to adapt to other DAW’s.
@@princeharry6736 i feel you, same here, been using FL since 2000. I read somewhere that because of the way that fl is built, a typical linear DAW workflow isnt really possible, but I wouldnt be surprised if they figured out a wat to. I mean, they’ve done alot to make recording in the playlist more similar to other daws
@@princeharry6736it’s not hard i was on FL for years and still am and i’ve learned pro tools , ableton , studio one and learning cubase rn they all have their own ways of doing different shit but FL just easier to do stuff like side chaining and all that even tho i don’t do it as offten
@@princeharry6736 same. But I like the fact the FL is so different, it makes the other DAWs look like a copycat of each other
Fruity Newtone vs. Logic Pro's Flex Pitch vs. Melodyne vs. Autotune:
What are the rankings on these?
1. Autotune (for real time pitch correction), 1. Melodyne for actual pitch correction, 2. Logic Flex pitch 3. newtone. all of your mentions are good and have different strengths. But for advanced pitch correction to perfect billboard vocals Melodyne is king.
Logic , Pro Tools and Luna in the building yo send the EQ this way please
I can't imagine moving to anything else from Logic. Anytime I see my current favorites in studio they're recording in logic using the stock plugins like I really can't imagine it. I started with Protools and it was cool but I really hated the colors of the interface specifically. I wanted the same timeline kind of view but the soft neon color tones or something really are just something I can't get behind. It hurts my eyes I feel like the Alice in Wonderland soundtrack was mixed in Protools.
Here for the knowledge and GOLD Rosetta
Yessssir!
I’ve only ever recorded in studio one
You are with the best
@@aishine8184 oh yea fasho
I can't figure out what episode y'all were talking about stereo side chain. But, all it takes is a left and a right track of let's say the drums and a left and a right track of let's say the bass. You would sidechain the left Bass track by the left drum track and you would side chain the right Bass track by the right drum track, utilizing four tracks. everything is possible with your daw already. Using Ableton you can use effects rack so it will really just take two channels. when you use the side chain you will have to select the chain in the effects rack that you want to sidechain by.
In an effects Rack in Ableton Live you would use a utility plugin choosing only the Left Channel and pan that to the left and in another chain in that rack you would use the right and pan it to the right. That effects rack would be for instance on the drums. Now if your sidechaining a bass let's say, on the bass you would use a utility playing only the Left Channel and pan to the left with a sidechain compressor on it triggered by the Left Channel of the drums in one chain. And you would do the same thing for the opposite side. Now if you and sidechain the entire base by the left and the entire base by the right it's the same thing as sidechaining in mono you could also side chain the Left Channel of the bass by the right Channel of the drums for a different effect if that's what you're looking for.
STUDIO ONE ALL DAY...
FACTS THE ClarityIS CRAZY LIKE IT TAKES BARE MINIMUM MASTERING AND MIXING UNLESS YOUR GOING FOR A SPECIAL SOUND. STUDIO 🎙️ ONE IS THAT GOOD 👍
S1-GANG
the Flex Pitch love had me doing the Leonardo DiCaprio meme!!!...lets goooooooooo
Devvon be ready to fight over protools like yall said something about his mama lol!!!
How can I get automatic camera switching for podcasting? 🙏🏿
HMD ROSETTA GOAT FR !!! I WOOD LOVE TO GET HANDS ON OG !! lets go
Pro Tools is the best for recording and mixing. Playlisting, pre-roll, reverse function in audiosuite for reverse verbs, Vari-Fi for tape stops, ARA2 Melodyne stock and elastic timestretching, routing folders for management, pro tool aggregate I/O audio driver, tab to transient, fade region to/from marker, f to create fade in & out, strip silence.
watch like a year or 2 later devv gon be on FL too looking back at this and we gon remind him .. LJ for president! 😂
Been with Logic Pro X for yearssssss, but i gotta admit... UAD LUNA is now my favorite daw. I still go back and forth, but i mainly stick with LUNA. I miss vari-fi from pro tools and the slow down/speed up fades of logic though😅
So i used cakewalk for a long time, so now I fell stupid. Why didn't anyone tell me Studio One is basicallt like a premium version of cakewalk. It's damn near the same DAW sounds even better.
Cakewalk solid my go to
I spend a great deal of time at one of the worlds largest music retailers and recording studios. Each one of these DAWs is a tool with their own strengths and weaknesses and the workflow will suit different styles and personalities better than others. However, if you talk industry standard/professional studio, PT is king followed by a DAW not even mentioned. Digital Performer seems to be used an awful lot in the professional community.
This podcast is the next best thing to Scratch magazine back in the day(RIP)
What do y'all think about Logic Pro X mastering plugin
I Side Chain Stereo in Pro tools
Bro made me a proud FL user 🤝🏿
Reaper 👀 people need to put respect on it
It’s Crazy that Cubase isn’t talked about lol 😂 It’s literally the most featured packed DAW
I believe that if they include Cubase in their discussion, the features of their DAW will become diminished
@@AliAlZayer I agree lol 😂
what A.i. video tool are you using for the auto camera tracking?
I’m using Auto-Tune Advanced UAD. The retune speed is pretty touchy compared to Pro
16:05 Shoutout Autopod
Magix Samplitude
bro my problem with fl is the 125 mixer tracks that cant work fam...
So glad to hear Courtney back in the appleshere
If I were forced to choose one desert island DAW, I would have to go with Logic Pro... very user-friendly. For music creation, I start in Live... they make their own hardware controller/interface and, depending on which version of the Push 3 you chose, it has the ability to be used in standalone mode.
idk…ive been using Ableton since 2015 and started using FL Studio late 2010 Ableton just a needs clip volume fader from the playlist without the need for extra scripts and a truly customizable interface . I could care less for a gross beat or a step sequencer tbr and interchangeable midi effects are a godsend vs clicking so many windows (and tiny buttons) to get the simplest shit done like an arpeggiator. FL Studio forever but I love me some Ableton
Pro Tools All Day 🔊🔊🔊
