It's all sweat shop factory landfill (and yes, LuLu lemon is no longer made in Canada as it originally once was, they outsourced). Edit: Very few items are still made in North America, but it's well less than 10%, the rest is made in either China or Southeast Asia (as is most "normal people" clothing found in North America and Canada).
@@iiyyxxnnconsidering the owner also named the store Lululemon because Asian people would have a hard time saying it, I assume their statement would be correct.
The prices are wild. I nearly had a heart attack spending $200 for two pairs of leggings. But they feel nice and supposedly hold up. I have a pair of leggings that have started to pile but they haven't shrank and haven't faded. The elastic is still going strong. Compared to my leggings I got from American Eagle and they died within a couple of washes. I washed all of them on delicate with delicate laundry detergent.
Not gonna lie. My mom sends me lulu lemon athletic clothes all the time. Never knew they cost this much but they are really high quality clothes. The seams don’t wear, the clothes stay comfortable, and the colors/look never fades.
My fiancé works for the GEC (call center) at lulu lemon. If it wasn’t for her discount I would absolutely never pay for their stuff. To be fair though all the lulu I do own I love and is super comfy haha
Also I can confirm that the story of the origin of the name lulu lemon is because the owner was a full blown racist. They told her that in a staff meeting lol
It’s the Starbucks of clothing. People feel like they get status points even tho there are better less expensive options. Same reason middle school kids all wanted $150 Jordan’s that they’d outgrow in a year
I swear Charlie is like Steve rogers once shield found him frozen and brought him back into the world but in this day and age but nothing makes sense to him😂
Since there's a lot of people attempting to defend the "quallity" of lulu lemon, here's some interesting bits -- lulu lemon has outsourced and has been outsourcing for a bit of time now. Most of their clothing is now made in China and Southeast Asia, in the same exact shit-hole, human-rights nightmare, capitalistic hell-scape sweat shop factory as literally any other major brand. If you wanna continue wasting your money, fine, idgaf but stop touting Lemon as some god of quality, it just isn't. I'd recommend actually finding brands that give a shit (yes it'll be more difficult and the tween in your local coffee shop won't recognize the brand, god f*cking forbid, but at least it won't be just cheap landfill marked up 500%).
The cost is justified because most people will end up doing a quality promise on an item and it will be replaced. Lulu knows that each item is basically two.
Wether or not the quality promise works completely depends on the location and people working, it’s not meant to be used if you get a scratch or tear, it’s supposed to be used for items that failed manufacturing and fell apart in a few days or something like that. People just abuse it
I lived right next to a lulu outlet and got everything for about 50% off and it is definitely worth that price. It’s great quality and super comfortable. Definitely would not pay full price though.
They are overpriced but I found out recently from someone who shops there that one of the reasons is because the clothes have a lifetime warranty and if they start showing signs of wear and tear as they get older you can send the shirt back and they will either fix it or replace it free of charge
I saw a post on Reddit once where she tried to use that warranty, but they asked her how often she used it. When she said everyday (when she exercises), they said it didn't fall under warranty because it shouldn't be worn that often.
Sometimes expensive clothes is a better value because they last longer than 5 pairs of $20 pants. I would get lulu khakis if they were like $90 but $128 is where I say no
I wore 2 pairs of dickeys 874 ($30 ea) for 5 days a week for five years and they look a lot worse for wear but they never failed. I'm not really sure I care to have regular clothes last longer than that
Fun fact, they outsourced to China and Southeast Asia. It's being made in the same shit-hole human-exploitative sweat shop capitalist hell-scape as any other brand, stop wasting your money.
Okay too be fair, I’ve never bought any Lulu products brand new but I bought a pair of leggings from the thrift store (so who know how many time they’ve been worn), I’ve owned them for about 2 years now and they’re still in perfect condition. They do get a couple lint balls things on them but once you get them off at they look pretty much brand new
I guess Charlie's chat accidentally explained the issue- how many people don't know how to buy clothes that fit? Maybe it's a different game for high BMIs but clothes arent supposed to "blow up"..
All I have to say is that lulu lemon clothes last FOREVER, like literally forever. They are really nice and worth the investment. Though the ceo isn’t great Edit: since people are shitting on me here is what I have to say: my clothes don’t randomly break but lulu lemon is workout gear mostly and I do hot yoga everyday so I’m washing clothes a lot. I would rather have a nicer pair of workout leggings that will last be 6 years then a cheap Walmart pair that I have to replace yearly. It will cost me less in the long run to pay $75 for a pair of leggings I wear and wash every day for however many years (so far mine have lasted since I bought them 6 years ago) then any other brand leggings I have bought. That’s just me personally. I never claimed my whole wardrobe to be made up of lulu lemon I only have like 4 items that I wear and switch out weekly as I work out. So for those purposes, yes it is worth it for ME and MY lifestyle. I would never buy this expensive of clothing for everyday. I thrift most of my every day clothing pieces ! :)

Price to quality is great but its not terrible. The problem is its pretty hard to find those amazing value brands due to their value coming from not advertising or opening up in malls. So lulu has the popularity around it while having good quality.
my friend got a pair of their flared leggings and spent like $100+. i liked the style so much i found some on amazon for $20 and theyre better quality 😭
the crazy part is that here in Brazil we pay around 100+ BRL for any clothes no matter the brand or store, basically 100 bucks for a p-sized shirt. overpricing sucks REALLY hard
Found a lululemon bag left at my store by accident one day; had a pair of men’s boxers in it and when I looked it up the one single pair of undies was worth like 50 bucks. The place is just offensive
I'm very much against the brand, but to be fair a lot of women's clothes are very thin, made cheaply, and designed not to last long to reinforce fashion styles going in and out of season to try to get people to buy a new wardrobe more often. Especially for something like leggings which are stretchy and meant to be worn tight to the body, I can see why even a perceived upgrade in quality would be considered worth a significant expense.
I work at a private preschool and have the younger student of one family in my class. The other is in the class next door. That family decided to gift both our classes with Lululemon cross body bags for Christmas. So, 8 bags at, I believe, $40 each. Parents are doctors so it wasn't a big deal for them, I guess, but I was shocked.
i mean its $40 which is basically nothing in lululemon. Also, $20 is the new $40 with inflation, and $20 used to be the ideal price range for xmas gifts for school, work settings so.....
Yeah no ive found leggings and other active wear in def cheaper places that were actually comfortable. Plus... i agree how tf do peoples clothes fall apart every year? Like are yall shopping temu wish cheap clothes or hulk transformin like shit hows yalls clothes just fallin apart after a year
What's even crazier is at least some of their stuff is listed at the same price in both the US and Canada. A jacket that's $118 USD is also $118 CAD meaning it is significantly cheaper, like $30ish USD cheaper, in Canada.
The idea for most quiet luxury brands is subtly. Middle to upper class citizens will definitely take notice if you wear specific peices that aren't loud logos. In fact they might be wearing it too if you can pick up on details quickly
They are expensive but honestly, their pants are the best I've ever owned. I work in finance and almost everybody owns them. It's kind of a joke but the new "uniform" for anything business casual is Lululemon pants with a Vineyard Vines polo.
He liked that Asians would have a hard time pronouncing it because much like how you struggled to pronounce "Moncler" (pronounced quasi French as Mon-Clair) the presence of the "Lu" and "Lem" phonetics is seen as sounding either French in America or authentically American in Japan and Korea, creating the illusion of provenance in both Western *and* Asian markets simultaneously. It wasn't an act of racism *at all* it was a very strategic marketing move that is part of what makes the brand genius. It took a clever understanding and respect for the Japanese market, cultivated through decades of owning a successful Japanese skate wear brand (homless) that lead to it. You can tell when someone has done absolutely no homework on designer fashion when they take anecdotes like this about a person's genius and go with the Twitter meme misinterpretation of it. These legends are what you buy into with these fashion houses and you do yourself a disservice when you don't at least attempt to fact check your bar-uncles beer-ramblings on the subject.
help me understand as lululemon is primarily a leisure, sport, activewear brand with fabrics comprised of polyester, nylon etc. It just be a me thing, but i find cotton, natural fibres or honestly just not that polyester, activewear fabric more comfortable
I used to scoff and hate on Lululemon so much until I got a pair of their Wundertrainers as a gift. Maybe I lucked out but these pants are amazing. Comfortable. Durable. Never snag, no pills, lightweight - could go on. Maybe I got lucky?
I know some obnoxious yuppies who shop at Lululemon...heres the kicker: they dont even buy these clothes to last; they get new outfits every "season" and trash/donate the old stuff
I still don't get it, u can buy like 4 t shirts for the price of one and regularly wear them interchangeably and since I'm wearing each less they'd together last as long as 1 lulu and the diff is I got 4 shirts lmao
I got a lululemon as a gift from my sister. Never heard of them til my brother pointed out that it’s an expensive brand. It was a workout shorts. It feels like One of em Target, Walmart, or even Marshals brands. Nothing special
I don't mind spending more money on clothes which is high quality and ethically made. Sadly most luxury brands are just expensive without a reason, Lululemon included. But 60 bucks is not expensive for a shirt. We are just expecting these fast fashion prices as a standard.
I’ve thrifted 2 pairs of men’s Lulu shorts honestly best dry fit type shorts I’ve ever worn wouldn’t pay more then 5$ a pair tho I’m cheap so what can I say
... I'm 27 and regularly wear shit I got from HIGHSCHOOL. Including the Gym shorts. As it's all plain stuff. So If I started highschool in 2010 It's been 14 years WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY DOING TO BUST OUT CLOTHES IN A YEAR. I'm hard on my clothes too, only thing I normally need to replace is hoodies-as I'll wear it till It's dead And only THIS year Tshirts as they finally got arm pit holes (never stretched out collars or something like that, I know how to get dressed) I got OFF BRANDS because hand me downs, thrift stores and surprisingly Burlington coat factory (not the coats the other things. Like a 75 dollar fancy pants from hot topic is 15. Coats are wicked expensive so they don't count as not the shopping reasons) Or ROSS Anyone remember ROSS I have one still and if I wanna give someone a name brand clothing item for a gift I GO THERE. What it is, is a rollover store. So big brands produce too much of a product and couldn't sell the after stock? Rather than the dump, they send it THERE. And it's beyond cheap of what you WOULD pay. And LITERALLY NAME BRAND American spending habits for class is fucking wild
I had a couple of pairs because my ex was crazy about them. I didn’t think they were that great. The pants pilled a bit and the pants had the ability to pick up every single solitary pet hair and fluff in the house. I eventually tossed them out because I didn’t want to have to lint roll myself for 20 min before going out.
I was a holdout for a long time on lululemon - but I wanted to have a nice pair of running tights for the Chicago winter this year and got a pair of their fleece-lined ones and I’m now a convert 🤷🏻♀️ I also ended up getting a running winter jacket from them. Do I feel bougey for my long runs on the Lakefront Trail? Sure. Am I also super comfortable outside in the gross weather? Absolutely. Tbf I’ve gotten those from Costco and after like 4 months they started ripping where the cloth and elastic meets
Terrible underwear at Costco. Hanes horrible etc
There's absolutely no way I'd ever spend full price for Lululemon clothes but I have found some good deals at their outlets and on their website.

But $10 for a t shirt that gets destroyed after 2 washes is okay?

I have bought pricier clothing and have absolutely noticed a difference in the feel due to material used, so softer and more comfortable, they don't fade nearly as easily, and I do have cheaper clothing where the threads come out and form small holes. I would never fill my wardrobe with these items but having a few outfits that are pricier is always nice, as long as the quality standard meets the price and you arent breaking your bank. @@Tama死And so are the 30 dollar pants I bought in high school (2013).. You're being scammed and any attempt at defending it is drinking the kool-aid. If you want to buy it, buy it. It's your money. Idgaf, but don't try and defend it as some superior item, the "quality" of which is unobtainable unless you spend that amount. This is simply not true. It's all sweat shop factory landfill (and yes, LuLu lemon is no longer made in Canada as it originally once was, they outsourced).
They told her that in a staff meeting lol
also sounds like ppl haven’t heard of hang drying clothes and or using cold water in the wash to preserve clothes better
My ex bought a 40 dollar beanie from them and it ate my insides so much to watch her buy that and leave it on the floor day in day out.
I don't love paying full price for lululemon either, but there aren't really any brands that compare in quality and cost substantially less
Unless your in construction Walmart pants will never just rip on you they may get faded if they are black but the regular wash holds up
You know it's a good one when the video starts with Charlie's magnificent belch.

They should have more lemon themed clothing choices for sure.
As someone who works in commercial banking. Lululemon pants are absolutely clutch in the office. The only pair you’ll need.
People just abuse it
I now see why my mom gets hyped when she finds these in good condition at the thrift store, and resells them stupidly fast for a massive profit. Damn.
Nobody is stopping you saying “ is that lululemon”
I lived right next to a lulu outlet and got everything for about 50% off and it is definitely worth that price. It’s great quality and super comfortable. Definitely would not pay full price though.
Do you wait for sales or are you in the know? And can I join? 🤨
I'm not really sure I care to have regular clothes last longer than that
Check their We Made Too Much section, there’s usually good stuff in there marked down
Fun fact, they outsourced to China and Southeast Asia.
Maybe it's a different game for high BMIs but clothes arent supposed to "blow up"..
is this the la li lu le lo
All I have to say is that lulu lemon clothes last FOREVER, like literally forever. They are really nice and worth the investment. Though the ceo isn’t great
Edit: since people are shitting on me here is what I have to say:
my clothes don’t randomly break but lulu lemon is workout gear mostly and I do hot yoga everyday so I’m washing clothes a lot. :)

I just spent $20 on pants and that felt like too much
Price to quality is great but its not terrible.
D&G makes a strong sweater. I have some that are 20 years old.

Walmart discounted clothing FTW
They are expensive but honestly, their pants are the best I've ever owned. I work in finance and almost everybody owns them. It's kind of a joke but the new "uniform" for anything business casual is Lululemon pants with a Vineyard Vines polo.
4:05 you also gotta take into consideration that Nike and lululemon and other big brands are expensive for a reason
The prices are ridiculous but it's SO COMFORTABLE
Synthetic fibers
help me understand as lululemon is primarily a leisure, sport, activewear brand with fabrics comprised of polyester, nylon etc.
Imagine just shopping at your local mall and u just see Charlie walking around
So
If I started highschool in 2010
It's been 14 years
WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY DOING TO BUST OUT CLOTHES IN A YEAR.
I'm hard on my clothes too, only thing I normally need to replace is hoodies-as I'll wear it till It's dead
And only THIS year Tshirts as they finally got arm pit holes (never stretched out collars or something like that, I know how to get dressed)
I got OFF BRANDS because hand me downs, thrift stores and surprisingly Burlington coat factory (not the coats the other things. Like a 75 dollar fancy pants from hot topic is 15. Coats are wicked expensive so they don't count as not the shopping reasons)
Or ROSS
Anyone remember ROSS
I have one still and if I wanna give someone a name brand clothing item for a gift I GO THERE. What it is, is a rollover store. So big brands produce too much of a product and couldn't sell the after stock? Rather than the dump, they send it THERE. And it's beyond cheap of what you WOULD pay. And LITERALLY NAME BRAND
American spending habits for class is fucking wild
I had a couple of pairs because my ex was crazy about them. I didn’t think they were that great. The pants pilled a bit and the pants had the ability to pick up every single solitary pet hair and fluff in the house. I eventually tossed them out because I didn’t want to have to lint roll myself for 20 min before going out.
Yeah, i don't need new clothes often, like every 3 to 4 years. What are these people doing to need 120 dollar pants to keep them from exploding
The prices ARE crazy but the quality is noticeably better. This man needs to try on lululemon for 1 hour lol
for larger women it should be lulumelons
I was a holdout for a long time on lululemon - but I wanted to have a nice pair of running tights for the Chicago winter this year and got a pair of their fleece-lined ones and I’m now a convert 🤷🏻♀️ I also ended up getting a running winter jacket from them. Do I feel bougey for my long runs on the Lakefront Trail? Sure. Am I also super comfortable outside in the gross weather? Absolutely. It’s silly but you can absolutely tell the difference in quality from, say, Target leggings. The price is worth it to me.
Lululemon > new house
