This is so true. This poor kid was tormented by those d!cks. I only had one teacher bully me in 3rd grade, but it left a mark. I was a really good kid before that, but about halfway through the yr I realised it didn't matter if I was good or not. So I just stopped bothering to be good in her class specifically. I think I spent more time in the hallway than in the classroom the rest of that yr. As an adult I still automatically distrust authority figures and I usually just ignore rules that don't have to do with safety or not being a pos to other ppl. I hope this kid gets the help he needs after all that fkkery

"Idk how this isn't a civil rights violation" it absolutely is, but frankly civil rights in the US have been on a steady downslide since at least the '00s, possibly even earlier (honestly, I think a lot of the shit that happened during the post-9/11 paranoia, like giving the police *way* more power to indefinitely detain people for essentially any reason and stuff like that, was really the tipping point, though), like throughout my nearly 33 years of life, I have seen this country steadily inch closer to being an outright fascist dystopia year by year (in the last half decade I don't think you can even call it "inching", honestly). I think there are some fundamental flaws in the way democracy and the judicial and legislative system function in this country that have allowed for horrendous civil rights violations to take hold even under a constitution and Bill of Rights that are supposed to protect against such violations (frankly, a big part of it is that the constitution and Bill of Rights both seem to mean less and less to many of the people in power with each new election cycle)

Ideally all accusations should be investigated as soon as possible, but such serious ones? Immediately. By someone who knows what they are doing and isn't biased.
As a teacher, the question I would ask myself after the investigation would be why the girl lied. Was it only out of spite or because she was bored, or was she trying to get help without revealing the true culprit? So, she might just be mean or she might actually be a victim, just that someone else (like the stepfathers brother or whatever) was the actual perpetrator.
In these cases if the rumour mill has started it is also important to set the record as straight as possible (so, if the girl actually was victimized at home such details shouldn't be revealed) but people should be made aware that nothing had happened between the boy and the girl.
Seriously: if you enjoy tormenting a 5th grader it is time to switch careers. Burnout is a thing but that is not an excuse to treat anyone like this.

Shit like this happens all the time. Many years ago, when I was in middle school maybe 2017 in South Florida I was being bullied HEAVILY like full on I had straight up TEACHERS join in, this is not a joke, I had a teacher call me, "The Devil." once because she was angry at me (home economics teacher). I told the school that they needed to do something about the bullying, or we'd contact the news and it would be their fault if a child killed themselves because of their neglect. I was baker acted that day by the school resource officer and sent to a psych ward (Baker act is essentially an involuntary psych hold in Florida) for a week. When I came back NOTHING HAD CHANGED, and they treated me like I was fucking crazy for daring to threaten to report them.
Literally the day I got back I got into another incident with my History Teacher, Mrs. Brown (fuck Mrs. Brown fr) who upon seeing me suffering a panic attack in class due to the bullying proceeded to preform a FUCKING EXORCISM THING ON ME, THIS IS NOT A FUCKING JOKE. "I bind you evil spirit, and I pray to god for your soul." I immidietly left class and called my mom, but by the time they got here classes had switched and they didn't even bother to ask MY CLASS what had happened but the class IMMIDIETLY AFTER MINE so of course they said nothing happened because they weren't even there.
I said I knew they wouldn't do anything because they never do anything, and the school therapist (the one who committed me) said, "Who's they (name)? Who's they?" Like I was fucking insane, right in front of my mother. My mother was so insensed and furious she took me out of school for nearly two weeks. What happened you may ask? Absolutely fucking nothing, I got my history class changed to a 2nd math class where I was bullied again and even had ink sprayed in my hair and books repeatedly slammed on my desk.
I'm 21 years old now, and I have diagnosed PTSD from what happened to me as a child and constant nightmares and anxiety about being back in school again. 21 years old and I'm terrified to even pass by the building on the road because of what they fucking did to me.

Dude ame thing happened to me all the way up till high school, it died down at high school but I remember one teacher snatched me up for not doing my work in front of me after a total of five fucking minutes agon getting the work and figuring out the problems, and I remember how ( I was in a special needs class bty) the class ganged up on me till I basically beat a kid till his nose was broken, then they had stopped because I had retarded strength by my side. And my special needs teacher in high School screwed me over because he only taught me to do the State testing, and my dad told me no joke. " Pretend you are learning the rest and fuck up in it on purpose, do it fast to." I know it can screw me up but the teacher lost hope on me after that

Same here, although it was just 2nd-grade and the school I was at apparently had no idea what an EC classroom was because they didn't have one, and they would physically drag me down the hall and restrain me like I was a violent criminal. I only started acting-out in 2nd-grade because my teacher was a spiteful Boomer hag that went out of her way to get a rise out of me. Thankfully, we moved in April near the end of 2nd-grade so I was away from that bit¢h. However, I still had tantrums afterwards until around 7th-grade where something clicked and I was better able to control my anger. I wasn't violent or anything, I would avoid my fellow students during my tantrums because I didn't want to hurt anyone, I just flipped over desks and knocked stuff off of tables until I worked-out my anger. After 7th-grade, I was a regular student and even left the EC classroom by 8th-grade. I was blessed to move to an area with schools that actually cared about special-needs children.

When I was in elementary school a bully of mine told a teacher that a girl in another class said that I threatened to stab her with a pocket knife if she didn't play with me. I was extremely shy and introverted and not once did this teacher stop to think how out of character that would have been. Instead, I was forcefully grabbed by the wrist and was demanded "where is it" over and over, despite being confused and hurt. In the end, I was dragged crying in front of the class, along with the girl who supposedly said I threatened her (and who said I hadn't when asked - we didn't even know each other) while the school counselor droned on about the harm of telling lies. It was a complete spectacle, and only made me more of an introvert than I already was. The counselor never followed up with me despite contributing to the harm. Oh, and I still was made to sit next to my bully.

After this case, more families spoke up about Principal Myrta Garza's bullying of their children. It's weird, the prosecutor shares Garza's last name and is relentlessly trying to get this child thrown in prison. It also uncovered a wider problem in Texas of school officials and police officers abusing children.

so if this kid actually made a threat like that against the principal, they truly think this will help him? there’s a serious mental health crisis in this country that is only being perpetuated by people like this who should be there to help. this is seriously so sad, kid was just asking for help.

Both the city of Brownsville and the BISD are some of if not the most corrupt cities/school system in the US. Doesn’t surprise me. More often than not stuff like this happens in Cameron/Hidalgo county. Thank you for making something like this public to a larger audience Charlie, the problems in this region are so overwhelming everyone who grows up here tries to leave south Texas as soon as possible.

Happened to me in 6th grade. Principal was a total karen and had it out for me, got to a point i wouldnt even show up to the classroom, just arrived at school and went straight to the detention hall. And when she came over to punish me, i just sat there, quietly. It got so depressing, 3 admin staff just quit before the year was up.

When you’re too poor to afford it, lunch is always a privilege.
They use lunch programs as a leveraging tool against poor families to bring them into compliance. You’re not behaving? We’ll pull your lunch privileges. The gov’t doesn’t give anything away for free, it always has stipulations attached, other wise it’d be much harder to control people

I feel for this kid. Me and my sister had a similar situation where a bus driver was drunk and we could tell. And when my sister asked to skip he told her "Shut up you little B-word, and get on the damn bus" when I stepped in we were both punished heavily. I got 3 months ISS and my sister got 2 days OSS. The ISS teacher was my dad's rival from his mayoral campaign and was salty he lost and made everyday hell. Eventually he cooked up enough reasons and I was kicked out of my 5th grade year. My dad raised a fuss and I was allowed to enter the Middle school but I never spoke out or fussed at unfair treatment or asked for counseling for fear of retaliation. My sis went the opposite route. She got louder and more outspoken and took to groups so she always had witnesses. Smart Lass, and the boy in this story is smart as well.

I live in Brownsville, and back in elementary there was a kid accusing me of touching his back and bothering him, even though I never did anything. He reported me to one of the teachers and told her I was lying, but I actually never did anything. She, for some reason, took the other guy's side and decided that I was "lying" and kept me from recess that day because of it. I'll never understand why they don't EVER look at the cameras and reprimand a kid who never does anything. This story of the kid getting arrested from that dumb principal makes me angry and happy that I'll never send any of my future kids to any of these schools
Edit: This elementary school in the vid is actually 3 miles away from me, woah, AND I would never see the day Charlie, my favorite CZcamsr and twitch streamer, would even MENTION Brownsville. Man, this day is crazy

Texas principals are pretty corrupt. Mine in the 90s was. It was a tiny but rich school and the principal hated me because my stepdad punked him out years before. All he cared about was test scores because it determines funding. He told us in 8th grade for testing that if we passed the test we would pass our grade regardless. I let a friend cheat who missed 62 days that year and he passed 8th grade despite missing over a third of the school year.
He and the superintendent had huge 3 story houses on big pieces of land in a community where most of us lived on trailer houses. Even senior trips were to the Bahamas until their kids graduated and they were ALWAYS, the senior class representatives for the free trip.
