  • Pokemon hide many secrets, including how many of them have secret additional forms that we don't get to see in the games! In this video, I'll be highlighting 33 of these Pokemon, discussing what these additional forms are, and even show off the ones that we have seen in other places outside the games! I hope you enjoy!

When Burmy evolves, its cloak becomes part of its body. That’s why Wormadam has never been shown without a ‘cloak’ because it can’t take off what is its own body.

Genesect isn't really a mystery. It's Pok'edex entry literally tells you that the only thing they really changed on this Pok'emon was adding the cannon to it's back which would not have been there on the original Pok'emon. So a natural Genesect would just be the same one we see but without the cannon. It should also be noted that the Drives which can change Genesect's type to Fire, Ice, Water, or Electric would not be a thing you could use on the original version of this Pok'emon since the drives connect into it's cannon that aren't a natural part of the Pok'emon to begin with.
Anyway... I thought this video was going to talk about forms that don't exist in the games but do exist in other media. Like Mewtwo's Armored form which has still never been seen in any Pok'emon game and Genesect's high speed form which was exclusive to the Anime. There's also that Crystal Onyx that was in the Anime and appeared to have a different type than regular Onyx and is technically the first regional variant Pok'emon LONG before Regional variants were introduced. I'm surprised they didn't set that first game in the Orange Islands and make Crystal Onyx an official regional variant. They did put the game on a group of islands and seemed to take a lot of inspiration from the Orange Islands in the Anime but at the same time it's almost like the game developers forgot the Orange Islands existed.

Well a few things, the Orange Archipelago was made by the anime, the game developers had no direct involvement so they technically have nothing to forget. Even then they probably did remember, as the Sevii Islands, I'm pretty sure were confirmed to take a lot of inspiration from the Orange Archipelago
Secondly, while it's confirmed they pretty much just added the canon to Genesect, it can probably still be assumed that the armor was also added as well as some other attributes because the way Genesect flies, personally doesn't look to be just from the canon
Lastly, the video is about forms never actually shown in any media (For the most part at least, with for example Paras without the mushroom), but are still heavily implied to exist from lore pieces
Technically Qwilfish is one the first forms to have been implied and then later revealed. As the library in Sinnoh implied ancient forms had bigger spikes, later revealed in Legends: Arceus with Hisuian Qwilfish and Overqwil as that ancient form

It's strange as there have many opportunities to show a single tailed vulpix in both the anime and games as this fact was first mentioned in Gen 1 and Gen 2 introduced us to baby Pokemon. I actually didn't even know about the newborn vulpix in Sun and Moon (didn't watch the anime), but that makes it even worse because in the Sun version the Kanto form's Pokedex states, "Its beautiful fur and tails have made it very popular. Actually, from what I recall, Burmy IS just a pure bug-type, no matter its cloak, it's only Wormadam, which, as mentioned by another comment, makes the cloak a part of its body, that changes type depending on which form of cloak it is.
I also vividly remember Forretress as a case of this due to it being mentioned in PMDs "Seven wonders of the Pokemon World". btw, same should of course also apply for Pineco.
One of my personal headcanons for Cubone is that their original species/their look under the mask doesn't matter, and that most of any Pokemon-species could become a Cubone if they lost their mother and decide to wear their skull, it's more of a group of Pokemon-orphans than an actual species... is one of the interpretations I came up with over the years. Obviously, this doesn't actually check out with the Cubones we catch in the game, although this would open up the possibility of "Cubones" of other species, like, a more bird-like Cubone, a quadruped Cubone, something along those lines.

16:27 a can say for one thing that some of the pokemon cards probably hold some of these mysteries. a card i have of genesect says that it didn't originally have the gun on its back and that it was added entirely by team plasma.

I imagine that snorunt, been normal grass and looking more like a coconut in warm areas.

Oh, I thought Wynaut and Wobuffet's tails were their shadows. Also the Shadow Tag ability. 🤔

11:56 the art is impossible because if digglet uses copycat and copies fly it uses the move with a small piece of earth under it

If wobbuffet's design concept is about boxing, maybe its actually a punching pads. Because in some countries like Philippines their punching pads that their coaches use had somewhat of a handle so I think that is the inspiration why wobbuffet's tail is like that

I love how everyone is more excited about the mushroomless parasect and not the thinking parasitic mushroom on the loose. Before you say the mushroom died, the issue with that is parts of the decayed mushroom would still be on the parasect. Notice how in the pokedex entry that it specifically states that the mushroom is gone, not rotted. This implies there is a point where the parasite willingly leaves the host, meaning somewhere there is a puppeteering mushroom pokemon looking for a new host.

Great video wonder what some of them are hiding maybe with the release of Scarlet and Violet we might see a regional form of snorent, bergmite and avulugg because Spain is pretty close to the equator so it might melt away the ice and reveal their true forms.

Anyone ever wonder what other Fossil Pokémon would be like if they pulled a Dragapult line and had the Ghost typing, instead of Rock? 🤔

Hopefully in the future we see more mystery Pokémon and they become actual Pokémon plus mystery forms
Because there must be thousands out there that we don’t know of

Wormadam’s cloak is part of its body, unlike Burmy. That’s why Wormadam has never- and hopefully will never- be seen without its cloak.

I think in proffessor laventons entry for parasect he's implying that he found the "unmoving" dead husky left behind after the mushroom leaves
