    I agree the feature that's most interesting is the accessory control panel for switches. I bought the Halo9 for the big touch screen but also for the accessory switches to install in my 1998.5 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins and it does fit extremely well (postioning to be below the air vents was perfect and it doesn't extend out too far for a automatic, don't know how a manual shift would work) but come to find out the KCA-001 will not function without the Maestro datalink box installed too! The 98 Dodge doesn't have that capability so it won't work. Very disappointed and you don't find this information out until you read the installation instructions. Doesn't make much sense since the switch function could be made separate from the Maestro datalink side of things. Alpine you need to make this functional if possible with a firmware update!! If anyone is looking to buy this setup make sure your vehicle is compatible with the Maestro product or it won't work.
    EDIT: I was wrong. See post below.

      You can load a generic universal firmware on the Maestro RR as far as I know, for cases like yours.

    • @rotohead1

      I come to find out I was wrong on the ability to get the KAC-001 to work w/o a Maestro module. The accessory switch screen will work but you must wire any relays exactly as shown in the instructions (it is a very unconventional wiring). And then for every switch you need to go into edit and configure the switch to one of 3 settings pulse, momentarily, or latch. Latch works with most configuration. I’m very happy not to drill holes in my dash anymore. Hope this helps and clarifys mu earlier post.

    What does the space look like behind the unit? I have an 8.4 screen so I’m trying to see if that whole thing will be filled up.

    • @LockdownSecurity
      @LockdownSecurity  Před 2 lety

      The space can be filled with a pocket (like a Metra brand universal single DIN pocket made of plastic), OR, if you don't want to bother, you could leave the area behind the floating screen empty (open), aa the screen hides the opening. Obviously leaving it open is unfinished and not as "professional", so the pocket method OR maybe some ABS plastic to fill the opening is the best route.

      The ILX-F309 is iDatalink Maestro compatible, meaning you can use a Maestro module (such as ADS-MRR or ADS-MRR2) to retain the CAN-BUS vehicle features.

      Yes we have added aftermarket cameras, the Alpine has a rear camera input by default, but you can use it with a switcher to add more, Alpine also makes a proprietary switcher where you can add up to 4 cameras as well (it is overpriced though, the Alpine switcher).

I did the maestro rr and all of the other accessories in this video but i can not figure out how to connect to the obd to get the tire pressure/ engine light/ gauges features to work on the radio. Do you know how to do it? I was told to connect the red/brown wire to the CANH and the yellow/brown to the CANL but i cant even find those wires and I searched for a long time. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
