- Presenting the Alpine iLX-F259 HALO9 9" AM/FM/audio/video Receiver w/ 9-inch Touch Screen and Mech-less Design. The iLX-F259 is an AM/FM/audio/video receiver w/ Apple Carplay and Android Auto on a 9-inch WVGA touch screen. It uses a 1-DIN chassis for installation but the screen “hovers” in front of the vehicle’s dash, allowing the oversize screen to be added to a variety of vehicles without the need for custom installation. Available now at $599.
But why only a 5 band EQ?

Can i upload pictures on my ilx-f309 the same as the ilx-259?
Can you add widgets? Like from the play store. I would want to add a screen timeout widget.
Besides the interface, what’s the difference between this unit and the 309?

The screen is a glare magnet. It looks great in the show room but when it's in your car it's a different story. Looks great when viewed straight on but the viewing angle sucks. Very disappointing that Alpine could not do better with a true contrast and brightness control. At times I cannot see the screen with certain sun light.

Beware. Purchased in November so that I could use Apple Car Play in my 2007 Tundra. I’m a contractor and need hands free and navigation. It worked pretty well...it would randomly disconnect and not recognize my iPhone 7 so I would have to shut my truck down and restart (and yes, I have iOS 13 and keep it updated). In December, my wife gave me an iPhone 11Pro to update my iPhone 7...now, CarPlay does NOT work. Audio, glitches out and calls are actually in slow motion (I have NO IDEA how that happens). I have searched numerous blogs and this seems to be a problem with iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max that neither Apple nor Alpine want to address. For a stereo over $800.00, I would have hoped for a better customer experience
I just put this in my new Acadia. I got to say it has the worse screen for catching glare. It does not have a good angle of viewing. Alpine could have done better with the resolution and screen adjustments. A bit overrated.
Can you add an hdmi?
